On consultation day for surgery, the surgeon's office sent paperwork to my insurance company for permission of the procedure. It got denied. I kept calling both the doctor and the insurance company to find out why, and they both gave me the runabout, blaming each other. Finally after 2 weeks of calling, it turned out that the doctor is in network, but the address they gave for the location of the procedure is not. Now, I have been calling the doctor for over a week, and their surgery scheduling never pics up. I have left 4 messages on different days, but they do not call back, despite the promise in their message. I'm in pain, and I'm stuck with no help in sight. Insurance company called around and there are no other surgeon who would take my case in such a short notice. Insurance only gives me 2 extractions a year. Now it seems that I lose this benefit for this year despite planning ahead, due to the scheduling staffs error.

If I could give them negative stars, I would. You're better off finding a different oral surgeon office since this one can't seem to get things straight. I took my husband in today to have his wisdom teeth removed. They gave us a quote over a month ago when we scheduled the appointment, which we brought with us just in case. In that same office, my husband had a deep cleaning done and was put on a payment plan for it, which was great so we assumed we'd do the same for the oral surgery. We were told "at this time the dr. isn't doing payment plans". So you're telling me, you expect people who are in pain due to these teeth that they have to dish out over $1000 in one appointment to have some relief? The office then tells us it's going to be a different price than the one quoted, which would be $600 more. We were told that his chart had be deleted or something and I told them that was their fault and not ours. My husband has a heart condition which requires his to get clearance from his cardiologist, take antibiotics prior to his appointments, and take time off work for this. We planned ahead for all of this and my husband took all the necessary steps. We ended up only getting 2 of the 4 teeth removed because that's all we could afford at the moment. Seems to me like they care more about their pockets than their patients. They weren't even willing to work with us. They didn't inform us beforehand that a payment plan was not an option and that they would try to charge us so much. Absolutely horrible. Save yourself the time and money and headache and go elsewhere.

I'd like to tell you how Dr Lawson is. I wouldn't know. I've been sitting in his office for two hours and haven't been seen yet. It's a consultation...simple enough right? FML
