Dr. Sang Y. Shin is a board-certified dentist practicing all aspect of endodontic treatments in Orlando, West Palm Beach, and Maitland, Florida. His special expertise includes dental trauma, differential facial pain diagnosis and therapy including BOTOX, regenerative endodontics, and CBCT. He incorporates state-of-the-art technologies into his practice. He utilizes surgical dental microscopes, high resolution cone beam CT scan, triple HEPA filtered high velocity air purification system, a specialized dental laser and numerous other dental gadgets. As a result, he provides the most advanced, safe, comfortable, and the highest quality of endodontic care to his patients.
Dr. Sang Y. Shin grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, and received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology at the University of Utah. He then completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with honor at Nova Southeastern University, College of Dental Medicine, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
After graduation, he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at Nova Southeastern University in North Miami Beach, Florida. Then, he attended Temple Universitys advanced dental education program for specialty training in endodontics in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Shin served as a faculty member teaching Temple dental student in laboratories and clinics.
After completion of the specialty program, Dr. Shin worked as an endodontist in a private practice limited to endodontics for 10 years in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was the co-chairman for seven years at Atlantic Coast Dental Research Clinic located at Palm Beach State College in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he taught and gave lectures to general dentists on various dental topics.
Dr. Shin is very passionate and adamant about his endodontic specialty. On his own, he continued to strive for the highest level of his profession by passing a series of examinations to obtain the status of Board-Certified endodontist and diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.
Dr. Shin became interested in dentistry as a child through his dental trauma as a result of the loss of two teeth. He had special interests toward dental trauma and devoted himself to saving others traumatized teeth. That was the motivation to give dental trauma lectures to general dentists for optimal handling of traumatized teeth. Dr. Shin has been invited to lecture on the topic of endodontics to various groups. His area of expertise includes treatment of dental trauma, regenerative endodontics, facial pain therapy and the use of CBCT in endodontics.
In addition, he has published a one-step revascularization article (a new treatment protocol that helps pus-draining, dead teeth to continue to grow and strengthen their roots) in the renowned International Endodontic Journal, and his case study made a cover page of the journal. His case work was published in the third edition of Dutch endodontic textbook Endodontologie and in the July 2011 edition of Dental Clinics of North America Journal.
In addition to excellence in his work, he has volunteered in the Palm Beach County dental charity program, Save a Molar, to treat underprivileged children with pro bono root canal treatments for five years.

Dr. Shin and his team were true miracle workers! I started a root canal at another office, and after a stream of unprofessional events, this other doctor said he couldn't complete it and told me to have my tooth extracted. I walked into Dr. Shin's office upset and in severe pain. They worked me into the schedule that day to get me out of pain and on proper medicine until he could attempt to fix or assess my issue. They were so professional, and more importantly incredibly skilled. I went back to their office 3 days later for the root canal completion. Based on what the other office said, I was not that hopeful, but I at least knew I was in more knowledgeable hands and better care. Surprise---Dr. Shin successfully completed the root canal in 45 minutes! It was so painless and easy!!!! They made me feel so much better. You can just tell that Dr. Shin is very highly educated and skilled in this field--he is truly the best of the best!

I had an appointment with Dr. Shin this week and was extremely disappointed in the care I received. Dr. Shin, nor his assistant looked at my tooth before giving me a cone beam CT scan and they scanned the wrong tooth. I decided not to continue my care there and did not want a second CT scan done and they still charged me $250.00 for this terrible service. I requested a refund but my requests have been ignored/no response at all. Beware and stay away! Very unprofessional office!

One of the best dentists in town (who is or was the president of the dental association and a dentist for other dentists, Dr. Timothy Lane) told me that Dr. Shin is his first choice by far for root canal referrals. And Dr. Shin was outstanding. I was very afraid of the procedure bc I have another condition (tinnitus, or ringing in the ears), which the drilling in this procedure could make worse, regardless of his skill. But he was very understanding and took breaks during the drilling to ease my discomfort. The procedure itself wasn't painful at all. He was very thorough and efficient. And the office is pleasant, clean, and modern. His entire staff was also very accommodating before and after the procedure. And scheduling was a breeze. Highly, highly recommended for root canal procedures in Orlando! Dr. Shin is the best endodontist in town.

I had 4 root canals by Dr. Shin. He is a excellent clinician and very caring dentist. Now he moved to Orlando but I would fly or drive to get my root canal by Dr. Shin.

I set an appt for a consultation - When I arrived the staff was super friendly and Krystal was one of the sweetest women ever, they are truly blessed to have her. I am scared of dentist and she just made the whole process very easy and comforting. Dr. Shin also was so knowledgeable and that made me feel really comfortable. My only problem is that this was a consultation- at no point did anyone tell me that the CT scan that was done on me was not covered. When I was done, that's when the front desk tells me there is a $200.00 charge for the visit. Had I been told ahead of time that there was going to be a CT scan not covered I would have declined it. Now I have a bill I was not prepared for and need to call my insurance company to see how they can help me resolve this since I don't feel this was my error.

The lobby is welcoming, clean and peaceful. The front desk staff are kind and understanding. If you have a concern the front desk staff will help you with out any hesitation. If the front desk can work you in the same day when your in pain... they will, that's exactly what happened to me. They go 1 mile extra to ensure your comfortable and feel welcoming. Dr. Sang Shin, is exceptional !! Dr. Shin, really takes his time while working with you and he breaks everything down so you may understand what he is seeing or what he will be doing. Dr. Sang Shin, also goes 1 mile beyond your expectations. I have never felt so comfortable with an Endodontics, the doctor is sweet and caring. I HIGHLY recommend him.

I was in need of an emergency root canal. I called into Dr. Shin's office and his staff told me to come right in. The staff was so helpful Ana truly cared about my needs. They made the process so smooth and quick. Dr. Shin is amazing!!! I felt no pain at all. He made me feel so much more comfortable with coming to the dentist. I am forever grateful.

I was terrified to have a revision procedure for a root canal that had been done in my teens, since it was a scary experience the first time around. And I had to go in for two separate visits to complete it! Dr. Shin and his team member Gayla put me at ease and coached me through the entire experience. All of the equipment is state-of-the-art, and I think he really found the core of the problem that would not have come to light way back when I first had the procedure done. The office is pleasant and relaxing, and his entire staff are professional and kind. I recommend them very highly.

Dr. Shin and his staff are wonderful. They were so gracious, kind and caring after my 91-year-old father had a vertigo attack during treatment. Dr. Shin personally helped my father to the restroom (he was quite wobbly) and, after insisting that we wait until the worst of the dizziness had passed, walked my father to the car. Dr. Shin was thorough in his explanation of what the procedure would entail and showed that he has a genuine heart for his patients.

Dr. Shin did an excellent job on my root canal retreat (fixing an old infected root canal). I have referred him to friends and family. For the person who was unhappy with Dr. Shin's comment about the condition of one of her tonsils, a comment like this alerted my mother to skin cancer on her nose. The surgery was successful but she would have never noticed it but for the comment of her hygienist.
