Hi everyone, Im Doctor Sandra and Im a periodontist. Some of you may be wondering what in the world is a periodontist well Perry in Latin means around and dontis means the tooth. So, everything that has to do with the structure surrounding the tooth, thats really what a periodontist does. So, I take care of things such as gum disease which 70% of people today have some form of gum disease? Gum recession for example, A tooth that needs to be taken out or in place with an implant biopsy and making sure that the oral environment is healthy. So, I wanted to show you what really happens during gum disease. A periodontist uses something called a periodontal probe which actually has 369 millimeter and 12-millimeter measurements, to go around the tooth and measure if you have gum disease. What you see here is actually bacteria stuck on the tooth which causes, which causes bone loss right around there. Another thing that I do in my practice is dental implants and usually this is about 60 to 70% of my patients. Board certified prosthodontist with 17 years of practice and involvement in the academic setting, Dr. Niki Maghami is highly valued as an expert in the field of restorative dentistry. As a prosthodontist, Dr. Maghami is highly proficient in creating esthetic excellence, while restoring and replacing teeth. Dr. Maghami completed her Bachelors in Science with a high distinction in Biochemistry and Masters in Molecular Biology in 1996 earning multiple awards and distinctive honors. Her combined passion in health, science, and art led her to pursue post doctorate education in dentistry. She successfully completed her DDS from University of Illinois, at Chicago. Her strong work ethics and excellent interpersonal relationships earned her the Gerald L. Wine Scholarship. After graduation she moved to Los Angeles with her husband and accepted a position in Advanced Prosthodontics residency program at West Los Angeles VA Medical Center; a three year intensive program focusing on esthetics, replacing missing and broken teeth and implant dentistry. Later she completed a one- year fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthetics at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with an emphasis on rehabilitation of patients with intra-oral/ extra-oral defects. In 2015, she completed Sleep Medicine mini-residency at UCLA.
Dr. Maghami served full-time as an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA School of Dentistry in division of Advanced Prosthodontics, Biomaterials and Hospital Dentistry. From 2006-2012 Dr. Maghami both chaired and co-chaired different courses, and practiced at UCLAs faculty group dental practice. As part of her academic accomplishments she co-authored a chapter in Maxillofacial Rehabilitation, Surgical and Prosthetic Management of Cancer-Related, Acquired, and Congenital Defects of Head and Neck.
Dr. Maghami currently lectures at UCLA and works with post doctorates and practices at two other leading private dental practices. She is an active member of the American College of Prosthodontists, and Academy of Osseointergration for more than 15 years. My name is Nikki Megami, I am a maxillofacial prosthodontist. As a maxillofacial prosthodontist, you do 4 extra years of training after post, after finishing dental school. You see patients from simple cases to patients with a lot of complex needs with history of trauma, history of cancer, different illnesses so you really deal with patients with a lot of head and neck issues. What I have learned from being among is to have lots of patience and I use that with my patients all the time. I have two kids. One is 8 and the other one is 10 years ago. What my patients value mostly about me, Is the fact that I listened to them. Every patient is unique, they have special needs thats unique to them, and I feel like you really have to make sure that those needs are met and communication discussion around those needs really allows for good treatment outcome. I used to teach full time at UCLA and because of my personal life and like to see treating more patients, I wanted to do more, incorporate more clinical practice into my career and hence I still like to teach. I still go to the university and I work with residents but Im primarily focusing on private practice. Dr. Tevan Oganesyan is an award-winning specialist in Cosmetic and Biomimetic Dentistry, as well as Oral Surgery and Implantology. His unique expertise includes safe mercury removal and clear aligner therapy as an alternative to braces. Dr. Tevan immigrated in 1994 to Los Angeles from Armenia. He always had a passion for dentistry. It was while working as a dental technician in Los Angeles that Dr. Tevan decided to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a board-certified dentist.
He obtained his Masters degree in Oral Biology from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 2002, where he met Dr. Sanda Moldovan and they have been friends since. He went on to achieve a Doctorate of Dental Surgery at USCs Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry. This is where he was trained in Biomimetics, as a more conservative approach to traditional crown and bridge treatments. In addition to these credentials, Dr. Tevan completed two years of Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency training in Oral Surgery, Implantology, and Cosmetic Dentistry in Arizona, allowing him to treat more complex cases.
As a recognized leader in the biomechanics of dental implants, Dr. Tevan served as Adjunct Clinical Faculty member at A.T. Still Universitys residency program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry where he trained doctors clinically in Advanced Restorative, Biomimetic and Implant Dentistry. Once he moved back to Los Angeles, he joined Dr. Sanda Moldovan in treating patients with a biological approach.
Dr. Virginia Diego is a California Board certified dentist who fell in love with dentistry at the age of 13 years old when she volunteered at a dental office where she developed a great passion for oral health and prevention. Later on in her career, she became interested in biological dentistry because she realized that the toxins in traditional dentistry, such as mercury, are very dangerous and must be removed safely. Dr. Virginia Diego is a member of the IAOMT and certified in SMART (Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique). She also holds a laser certification to perform gingival treatments, as well as laser fillings. Like the rest of our doctors, she continues to stay up to date with new technology in our field. Dr. Diego continues to volunteer at public schools in south L.A. encouraging young students to become future biological dentists.

I am an Internist and a Functional MD who is a patient of Dr Moldovan. I had 2 ceramic implants placed by her team and I can not be happier with the level of technical ability, customer service and precision. She has been through in her clinical work with me and the final result looks great. As a holistic practitioner myself it was important to find someone who was aware of these principles and not going to implant metal or give me unnecessary antibiotics. I can not recommend her enough and will be referring my patients to her who are looking for a through, precise and kind holistic dentist.

Wrong diagnosis and proposed treatment for my wife. Did 2 extractions for me without offering to do a graft. I have zero confidence in Dr. Moldovan now.

I can't begin to describe how much Dr. Sanda and her amazing talents, have meant to me. I was involved in an unfortunate accident just over 1.5 years ago, and lost/broke several of my front teeth. My smile line was completely destroyed. I met with several specialists during the weeks following my accident, but was not impressed with what they were providing me as to my forward path(s), nor their ultimate outcome projection(s) for my teeth. On the back of those discussions, I was so disappointed and ended up very depressed. Thankfully, my parents networked with their friends on the West Coast, and several of them recommended that I visit with Dr. Sanda, as they had very positive experiences either directly with her, or via relatives/friends. Today, after just over a year of tenacious reconstruction and incredible cosmetic dentistry, I am so very grateful to Dr. Sanda and her amazing team for giving me back my smile!

I had a very unsanitary experience here. The only positive thing I have to say is that I noticed a difference after getting ozone treatment. I ended up purchasing my own ozone generator on amazon and now I use it to self treat. It is miraculous.

She is compassionate, gentle, extremely knowledgeable and truly cares about the overall HEALTH and WELLNESS of her patients. She is a gifted dentist and a true healer. I highly recommend her!

I can't express how much I am grateful for the care I've had under Dr. Moldavan. My lower jaw was in poor condition from an old infection in 2002 and the implants already in place were not in any condition to restore. Over the few years I've been with Dr. Moldavan, my oral health has improved dramatically enabling her to replace (and improve) the implants and restore them with a perfect smile I am proud of. I admit I was always self-conscious and insecure when smiling, laughing or eating with the condition of my mouth prior to her care. With a perfectionist mindset, she has adjusted my bite so it feels natural and functions beautifully when eating. I can't stop smiling! The transformation has been incredible. Dr. Moldovan's staff is also comprised of the most professional and caring people I have ever met. They have truly gone the extra mile to accommodate my needs throughout this process. I can't thank all at Dr. Moldvan's office enough!

We have referred clients to Sanda and they rave about their personalized experience she offers. She goes the extra mile with her clients and colleagues. For example, we recently referred a client of ours who was in pain and needed an emergency root canal to Sanda's office; however, the endodontist was not available for 2 weeks so we texted Sanda for a referral and within minutes she called us and requested the patient call her even though it was after 9pm. Ten minutes later my client called me to express her gratitude after talking to Dr Sanda about the different holistic treatment options she could offer to calm the nerve pain. Beverly Hills Dental Health and Wellness is wonderful! They have a top notch staff and everyone really knows their stuff and is extremely friendly! They make you feel at home from the first second. I have been there for cleanings and intra-oral ozone and everyone from Dr. Moldovan to the dental assistants and front desk were wonderful (Just as one example, Leeshane, one of the dental assistants and also at the front desk, ALWAYS remembers and knows exactly who I am when I call (even from the first visit) and goes out of her way to make every patient feel appreciated and cared for. Great place!!

I had my teeth cleaned at Beverly Hills Dental Health & it was the best cleaning I had ever had. They were professional, used ozone and other treatments I wasn't even aware were available. Now I only have all my teeth cleanings done at Dr. Sanda's office! Great team of staff too!

I have to tell the full story-- Before arriving at Dr. Sanda Moldovan's office I had been to at least three dentists and two endodontists. Reason being, after my original dentist placed a crown on a fractured molar, I started having the weirdest symptoms-- food (wheat, eggs) allergies and chemical sensitivities which I've never had any kind of allergies, Then I had strange aversions to certain metals - mixed metals, nickel. I went back to my dentist -- forget it. No help. So off I went seeking all kinds of answers from my primary doctor (no help), second and third opinions from other dentists and oral surgeons who did digital X-rays that showed nothing. A couple of the dentists even tried to convince me that I needed a root canal, but I felt like something else was amidst. Finally I found a holistic doctor who recommend, periodontist, Dr. Moldovan and I truly thank God he did. For nearly two years, I'd been through hell. By becoming hyper-sensitive to chemicals, metals and allergies, I honestly had to coach myself out of thinking my health was in grave trouble and to stay positive. Well, Dr. Moldovan was a godsend and did exactly what I hoped. She did a CT Scan of my entire jaw and found an infection that had been brewing for years! Basically I had a low grade infection (proven by my holistic doc) that was finally effecting my whole system, which, I had suspected was stemming from my teeth all along, especially after all my own research. Longer story short, Dr. Moldovan set a course of action, and it's been two and a half weeks since surgery and I am seriously and miraculously on the mend! It's too early to tell if all my allergies will clear up but I feel like the toxic load has been lifted and my body is getting back to good healthy again. One thing that did happen was she found a tiny piece of metal stuck in my gum where a molar had been extracted! Oh my gosh! This could be the root of my metal issues. I have no idea. But please believe me, my experience with Dr. Sanda Moldovan and her entire staff, including Dr. Kathy Zahedi, (who is replacing my mixed metal crown with a porcelain one) was nothing short of professional and simply amazing. Everyone made me feel comfortable and not crazy for listening to my body. The office is immaculate and Dr. Moldovan is also nutritionist, a plus. Her products are natural/plant based and even her post op products were natural and gluten free. I can't thank her enough for taking the best care of me. May God bless Dr. Moldovan and her staff.

Excellent care. I have had several gum surgeries and implants and she is truly a gifted surgeon. My results have been outstanding. She keeps abreast of technology and all the members of her team are reliable and compassionate when treating their patients and each other.
