This dentist is fabulous and invests himself completely in his work. He performed a very difficult surgery on my mouth and did so humbly and without complaint, though I could see the strain his back was under. He prepares for my type of surgery by peeling a raw egg without penetrating the mucus coating. The surgery went off perfectly. Nothing but the highest respect for Dr. Pai.

I would highly recommend Dr. Pai. I was referred to him by my oral surgeon and am so glad that I was. From my very first visit, I have felt that I am in great hands and my care has been top notch. He is a knowledgeable, experienced and kind professional. His manner is calm, competent, and caring. He takes the time to explain everything clearly and detail, answering all of my questions throughly. He has always made me feel included in my care and treatment plan, which puts my mind at ease. I was just in for a suture removal, what should have been a quick visit for him, and he took the extra time out of his busy day to sit with me, discuss the next steps in my treatment, and speak at length about my care with me. He even took the time to demonstrate how to best brush and floss. I have never had a dental professional demonstrate best practices like that. All the dental support staff I have encountered have been friendly and professional. His front desk staff is great, they are so nice and helpful, making the check in, scheduling, and check out process a breeze. I never thought I'd say this about a dental visit, but I'm really looking forward to my next visit. Additionally, his office is clean and beautifully appointed, allowing you to relax fully. Visit his office and know you'll be in good hands!

***UPDATE*** It has now been over FIVE business days, Dr. Pai, since you posted your reply to my post (below) that you or a staff member of your office would reach out to me regarding the chipping of my front tooth by one of your dental hygienist and I have heard NOTHING from your office. Needless to say, this event was upsetting and expensive. What was even worse was the lack of care or communication expressed by your office, which is why I wrote my initial review. You responded and said you'd reach out but clearly those were just empty words and an attempt to pacify me. I want to again stress to people considering Dr. Pai as a dental provider to look elsewhere because this is the type of service you be receiving, which is to say, NONE. I've been a patient of Dr. Pai for over twenty years. Recently I was at his office receiving a cleaning and the dental hygienist, Kristen, chipped half of my front tooth off. Needless to say, I was shocked and upset. When I requested that Dr. Pai examine me, my request was refused. I was charged $165 for the visit and they let me leave with my tooth chipped with no instructions or care for how to have it fixed. It's been four days and I've received no follow up from his office or any apologies for the damage they did to my front tooth. I am so disappointed in the care that I received and will never go back. I suggest if you are considering using Dr. Pai, to look elsewhere.

I went to see Dr. Pai for a second opinion after another periodontist said I must have surgery ($2,400) to save 2 teeth. Dr. Pai was recommended by my oral surgeon. I've been to a lot of doctors, dentists, etc. Dr. Pai is one of those rare doctors who is so smart, calming, thorough and personable. I can only think of one other time that ANY doctor spent so much unrushed time with me. Looking at me straight in the eye, he went into great detail and took the time to answer all of my questions and brought up some things I hadn't even thought of. Dr. Pai said I certainly did not need surgery and took the time to show me how to floss properly to keep my gums healthy! Can you imagine, a periodontist taking the time to show you how to floss? Clearly, Dr. Pai loves his work and cares for his patients. I can't say enough positive things! What a relief to have a such an excellent, honest, trustworthy, caring periodontist. His office is modern, clean and efficient. My appointment was on time and the staff were friendly and helpful. Six out of five stars - really!

Dr. Sam Pai has been my specialist for about 8 years. He has done several implants; one has given me a challenge, but Dr. Pai has always been able to suggest a treatment plan and always is compassionate and concerned. I find Dr. Pai to be knowledgeable and forthright; I trust his judgement and am very thankful to have his expertise available to me.

I spent $3500 on one implant and a crown. The implant fell out but Dr. Pai refuses to give me credit or refund any of the money I wasted on this disaster. I had one of my upper teeth extracted which left an empty space which was noticeable when I smiled or just opened my mouth. I had planned to get a removable partial denture, but Dr. Pai said I would not be happy with one and talked me into getting an implant for which he charged me $2,000. He then sent me another denist who put a crown on the implant and charged me $1,500. Then the implant (and the crown) fell out and Dr. Pai said there was no use installing another implant because the same thing would happen again. He could not explain why he hadn't foreseen that an implant would not work in my situation. So I still have an empty space in my upper teeth and am $3,500 poorer. I do NOT recommend this dentist.

I had a serious tooth infection. All went very well, including the resultant implant. Dr. Pai was very skillful and personable. Many thanks.

While it's not fun to have a tooth removed, this is the best place to have it done.
