Dr. Russell Nomi - General dentist in Kirkland, WA

I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to practice dentistry here in Kirkland for so many years. While Ive always enjoyed the technical aspect of my work, the relationships Ive created with my patients are what have truly made this a fulfilling career. I love watching children grow up into healthy, happy adults, and then bring their own children in to see me. It makes our office truly like a family.

I attended the University of Washington School of Dentistry and earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1981. Since graduating, I have expanded my knowledge and training in new and innovative dental procedures. Continuing education helps keep me abreast of what is new and evolving in dentistry and medicine. I feel that the more knowledge my staff and I have, the better the service we can provide for our patients.

I am a Seattle native and have lived in Bellevue on Lake Sammamish since 1991. I have been happily married to Gwennie for almost 30 years. Gwennie is a retired hygienist who now works mostly on her tennis game. We have two wonderful grown sons: Ron and Wesley. Ron has a business degree from Seattle University and is working at a clothing start-up in Kirkland. He also partners in a dental product importing company. Wesley is attending dental school in Arizona. Wes loves school and is at the very top of his class. I hope we can practice together when Wes graduates in a couple of years. Our family also has three dogs and several koi.

We donate to several charitable causes including the NW Childrens Fund, KCDS, various politicians, and the Issaquah Food Bank, to name a few. I also volunteer a lot of time at my office working with people who cannot afford the high cost of dental care. I have been on many mission trips to different countries and have sponsored others to do so as well. I feel that everyone deserves a chance to lead a healthy, happy, productive life.

I am extremely grateful to not only be able to return to my hometown here in the PNW, but to be able to practice with and learn from My father, Dr. Russell Nomi. It has been a pleasure working with our staff, and getting to know the patients that have made this practice what it is today. Every day one of our patients shares a memory of me throughout the years, making them truly feel like a family to me.

I attended the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health and earned my Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2017. Since graduating at the top of my class, I have continued to educate myself and learn new techniques and skills to practice dentistry using the most modern technologies available. Continuing education allows me to provide the best quality of care and information to my patients.

As a Bellevue native, It has been incredible to return home after so many years out of state. Outside the office, I am very active and enjoy golfing, hiking, wakesurfing, and staying fit. I spend a lot of time with family, friends, and our three family dogs! Also glad to be back supporting Seattle Sports!

Dr. Nomi is skilled, detailed a pleasure to deal with. When my Dentist of 30+ years retired, I asked my Periodontist for a referral. He referred me to Dr. Russ Nomi. He said you'll like him, and he is excellent and my Periodontist is very picky. He was right. Dr. Russ is very detailed, caring and a pleasure to work. . He staff is great too. My last dentist was excellent. I'm so glad I found another Dentist of the same caliber.

I used to avoid or prolong any dental visits until I met dr. Russ. Both Russ and his son are great at what they do. They genuinely care about their patients and go out of their way to make sure you are ok. I have the utmost respect for these guys and will happily refer any one their way!

I've been there for a year. Doctor Russell Nomi is doing a great jub. But I'm still impressed by the bad customer service when scheduling appointments. The reception who picks up the phone has an attitude. Like she's doing a mercy to arrange me an appointment.

My experience with this office was several years ago, and lasted less than 2 years. I stumbled upon my old claims when doing some clean up and felt compelled to write this review. What sets a good dentist apart? Great dentistry skills and treating patient like human with feelings and intellect. I did not experience either with Dr. Nomi. He kept overtreating my teeth, lacked attention to details in his work, resulted in my pain, unnecessary correction visits, and eventually loss of use of a molar. I could not count on clear and truthworthy explanation of why I needed these treatments. All I know was that I came to him with no prior problem, as I had a great dentist taking care of me for years. Then in his hand all of a sudden I am this endless list of problems. I didn't do all his asks, and left to find a new dentist after my bad experience with him "fixing" a limited subset of these problems. With my new dentist who have consistent 5 star reviews, all these "problems" just disappeared and I can use my teeth again, and I have happily stayed as a loyal patient. I just looked at my claims and realized I had more visits with Dr. Nomi in less than 2 years than in 6 years with my dentist both before and after him, and I experienced far more problems at his hand than with the other two dentists. So after I realized this, I feel I need to write this review, as I am confident that I just can't recommend Dr. Nomi's level of skills or care as a dentist.

Both my husband and I got so lucky to come across Dr. Russell Nomi when we moved to Kirkland twelve years ago. My situation was especially severe after a long time of bad dentists and poor genetics. Dr. Nomi single-handedly saved my teeth although it took a lot of work. He takes ownership of his work and coordinates his patients' care with a talented team. This is probably the busiest dental clinic I have ever encountered and that is not surprising.

I am so Grateful and Thankful for Dr. Nomi... After over a year of a LONG frustrating story that I won't go in to. I switched dentist and just started going to Dr. Nomi... The ladies that answer the phone are so kind and thoughtful and made me feel so welcomed being a new patient.. And OMGosh.. Dr. Nomi went above and beyond to help me out with this history of a Crown turned into a Root Canal turned into a re-do Root Canal... Like I said it's a long story. Dr. Nomi shared my story with Dr. Eichenberger at Redmond Endodontics for a 2nd opinion. Which I was extremely grateful for. I will say you are in good hands with Dr. Nomi and his staff. They sure do make you feel like "YOU MATTER"...

Ive known Russ since before he opened his practice in 1980. As a Doctor he's as close to perfect as it gets. As a person he exhibits similar qualities.

Dr. Nomi and team are extremely interested if providing the best possible care for your teeth and health. He invests in the best technology to improve results and minimize any pain. He is a family man, Gwen is a hygienist, and Wes his son following in Dad's footsteps. We are very fortunate to have a Dentist like Russ and Wes so close. They get my highest marks!

I am a newer patient to Dr. Nomi's office. I saw the son; Dr Wes Nomi for my cleaning and then his father Dr Russ Nomi for some dental work. I am thrilled to be a patient at their office. Their entire team from front office with Veronica and Sunny to everyone in the clinic I've met so far like Kersti and Lacy, they are a pleasure to talk to and have work done by. Both doctors have a gentle bedside manner which I appreciate and their knowledge of dentistry is impeccable. I have a long journey to endure for healthier teeth and I have no doubt from my experience so far, that I will greatly be taken care of because they do what's right for the patient with their best interest and health as a priority! Thank you so much!

When I brought my wife back here after she went here when she was a kid several years ago we would have a great experience. That was not the case. We were told we could make payments for her teeth to get done. After the appointment, the front office lady gave me 4 different price amounts that it would be. Before they performed the work they still were not clear on the costs and after was a disaster. She told me it's 100 dollar deductible which I know the plan we have is a 0- dollar deductible. She then had me speak to the office manager Nancy who which was rude and completely AGRESSIVE! All she did was glance at what the highest amount I had written down on paper and said that's what you pay how would you like to pay-(VERY RUDE AND AGRESSIVLEY) I am telling you the whole experience kept my mouth dropping at such total NON CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOU!! We will not be coming back and there are other places that treat there customers with RESPECT PERIOD!!!

Dr. Nomi has been my dentist since I was born (~29 years). I have had extensive work done over the years and throughout it all Dr. Nomi and his staff have been top notch. If it's a cleaning, cavity, removal, or just a consultation, know you're in good hands with this office! As an added bonus, you're usually able to watch TV while they are working on your teeth/mouth.
