Dr. Pauls grew up in the small town of Bethany,WV, attended undergraduate school at West Virginia University and then on to the WVU School of Dentistry. Upon graduation in 1981, he entered the US Navy and proudly served 3 years as a dentist at Parris Island, SC where he came to love the Low Country. Dr. Pauls began practicing on Hilton Head Island in 1984.

Dr. Pauls has taken extensive continuing educational courses in comprehensive dentistry and full mouth reconstruction with a special emphasis on complex crown and bridge, implant and cosmetic dentistry. He has been restoring implants and placing porcelain veneers for over 20+ years. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the SC Dental Association, the Southeastern Academy of Prosthedontics and holds dental licenses in multiple states. Dr. Pauls is also a community leader. He is a 20+ year member of the Hilton Head Rotary Club and a multiple Paul Harris Fellow. He is a graduate of Leadership Hilton Head. For over 20 years, he has been on the board of directors and has twice been board president of the Island Recreation Association and was instrumental in pushing for the building of many of the public parks on Hilton Head. He has also been a member of the Hilton Head Sportfishing Club since its beginning. He and his charming wife Jacki have two grown sons, Jason and Kevin, and have multiple pets at home. They not only enjoy traveling, but participate in all types of water sports activities together. Dr. Pauls is a PADI scuba instructor and also has a Coast Guard Captain's License.

Dr. Savarese is a native of Wantagh on Long Island, NY. He graduated from Bucknell University in 1977 with a degree in Biology. He attended graduate school at the University of Pennsylvania where he earned his Doctor of Medicinal Dentistry and taught in the prosthetic department.

Dr. Savarese served four years with the Navy at Parris Island where he received extensive training in Endodontics and Prosthedontics. He began his practice on Hilton Head in 1985. He is and active member of the American Dental Association and the Southeastern Academy of Prosthedontics. Dr. Savarese has completed extensive continuing education at the Dawson Institute focusing on comprehensive dentistry and full mouth reconstructions. He has over 20 years experience in implant dentistry, advanced crown and bridge, and cosmetic dentistry. He has been restoring implants and placing porcelain veneers since 1985. He currently works with a periodontist to treat advanced perioprosthesis cases and the placement of implants. Dr. Savarese's lovely wife Pat is a native of Short Hills, NJ and a teacher of Spanish at Hilton Head Christian Academy. They have four amazing children. Anthony is a 2007 graduate of Winthrop University, Kathryn is a 2009 graduate of Furman University, Elaine is a student at the College of Charleston, and Peter attends high school at Hilton Head Christian Academy. Dr. Savarese enjoys spending time with his family and fishing the waters surrounding Hilton Head Island. He also has played guitar for the last 40 years and continues playing in his leisure time.

Carole Camp is a native of Wheeling, WV and has resided on Hilton Head with her significant other for over 10 years. Carole has over 20 years of administrative experience and has been with our practice since 2006. She is the mother of twin sons and has several grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family and outdoor activities.

Linda Jeffers is a native of Savannah, Ga. She is a graduate of Tampa, FL Medical and Dental Assisting College. She has worked in the dental field for over 30 years and has happily been at our office for over 20 of those years. She has three children, Leslie, Stephanie, and TJ and has several grand children. She thoroughly enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, watching movies, and traveling.

Tara McCarley has been with us since 2000. She not only has a very good knowledge of dental care but makes our patients feel comfortable. Originally from Alabama, she has lived in the area for 20 some years with her husband Herb. They enjoy traveling and spending time with their three grown children and so far one grand child.

Jennifer Goldinger has been a dental assistant with us since 2002. She was trained in our practice (by Tara). She is excellent at understanding patients needs and making their dental care run smoothly. She was born in Fitzgareld, GA and came to Hilton Head in 1982. She lives in Bluffton with her husband and their four children.

Leslie Jeffers Hickey (Linda's daughter) helps out at our front desk on a part time basis and as a dental assistant also. She grew up on Hilton Head and we have know her since she was very young. She and her husband, Justin, have two children and enjoy life in the Bluffton area.

Judy Aikman has been with the practice since the beginning, in fact she was here before the practice started. Judy and her husband raised their two wonderful children on Hilton Head and now enjoy the cherished grandchildren. She is originally from the Boston area but has called Hilton Head home for over 30 years.

Julie Lewellyn has been with our practice team since 2001. She grew up in Augusta, Ga where she graduated in 1993 from the Medical College of GA. She practiced hygiene in Augusta prior to moving to Savannah in 2001. She currently resides in Savannah with her husband Jim and daughter Alex and dog Red.

Sharon Toti began working in our office in 2002 as a temporary hygienist and we could never let her go. She earned a BS in Dental Hygiene in 1977, a MA in Education in 1983, and a BS in Nutrition and Dietics in 1995. She and her husband Jack moved to Hilton Head from Narragansett, RI in 1998. They are both avid swimmers.

Lisa Walker joined our practice in 2005. Previous to her hygiene career she was a veterinary technician (so we ask her all our pet questions). She started her hygiene career in 2004. Her and husband Chris moved here from Lincolnton, NC and as a young fun loving couple they enjoy all the outdoor activities Hilton Head has to offer.

Payment and Financing Options In order to make payment options convenient for our patients, we offer several options for payment. We accept all major credit cards, ATM/debit cards, cash, and personal checks. We respectfully ask payment for your dental treatment at the time of service.

At all times, you can be confident that we will always provide you with our best services without regard to the limitations imposed by your insurable coverage. To do otherwise would not fulfill our ethical obligation to provide you with the highest standard of dental care. Your dental insurance plan is a benefit provided by your employer or private insurer. You are fully responsible for all fees charged regardless of your insurable coverage.

Your insurance carrier may reimburse you for a portion of our fee. That portion is determined based on the contract between you and your employer or you and your insurance carrier. The higher the premium paid by you (or your company), the more generous the reimbursement. We encourage you to contact your insurance carrier prior to treatment if you are concerned about the level of reimbursement they will be providing.

As a convenience to you, we will help you in processing your insurance claims. We will also gladly provide dental x-rays and a written diagnostic report should your insurance company have any questions about the treatment provided.
