Dr. Wilcox was born and raised in Margate, FL. Dr. Richard Wilcox received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 2006. Prior to attending dental school, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Hanover College and his Masters of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Barry University.
Dr. Wilcox has been practicing in private practice in the area since January 2010. Prior to moving to Manatee County in 2010, he lived and practiced in Bakersville, North Carolina. Dr. Wilcox possesses the highest qualifications and will bring a wealth of valuable experience and excellence. He is experienced with patients of all ages and has participated in Childrens Smiling Faces/Going Places program. Dr. Wilcox enjoys outdoor activities, sports and travel. He is also an avid aviation enthusiast and currently holds a private pilot license. He was an Academic All American College Football player at Hanover College. Dr. Wilcox believes in establishing a personalrelationship with his patients and believes in comprehensive dental treatment to maximize the overall oral health of each patient individually.
Randy Leftwich, R.D.H., A.S., has ten years experience in dental hygiene. Randy graduated from State College of Florida with an Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. He is known for his gentle touch, and is very proficient in helping his patients maintain a beautiful smile. Randy is a native Floridian, and in his spare time, he enjoys going to the gym, fishing, gun collecting, and boating.
Pam Leigh is the business assistant for our practice. She has been employed by our office for over ten years, and has over 30 years experience in the dental profession. Pam moved to Bradenton from Ohio in her teen years and has lived here in Bradenton since then. Pam has three adult children and two grandchildren. She is active in her church and loves spending time with her family.
Colette Lemay, C.D.A., is the office manager for our practice. A 1972 graduate of Manatee Technical Institute School of Dental Assisting, she has been employed by our office for over 23 years. She was raised on the east coast of Florida, but has lived in Bradenton for 35 years. In her spare time, Colette raises cattle and attends antique car shows.
Christina Warren, R.D.H., A.S., is a 1999 graduate of St. Petersburg College with an Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. She has been employed by our office for 11 years. Christina has been active in the local dental hygiene society and was a Delegate to the National Dental Hygiene Congress. She is married to Jeff and has two young children. Christina enjoys reading, baking, spending time with her family and friends, and is very active in her church.
Dottie is our newest office assistant and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge about the dental industry. She moved to Florida from New York in the late 80's and admits that she does not miss the harsh winters. Always with a smile, she will do her best to help our clients in any way possible. Dottie has 5 wonderful grandsons and enjoys attending their ballgames, along with gardening, concerts, and the beach.

I have been a patient for about 20 years. I was appalled when I went for my appointment yesterday and found that no one in the office has had the Covid Vaccine! Why? Medical professionals should take every precaution to protect their patients...isn't that part of their Creed? I will find a Dental Practice more concerned with their patients.

I just had a crown replaced by Dr. Wilcox. I must say, it was painless and quick. Dr. Wilcox was very friendly and pleasant throughout the process, with special attention to safety concerning covid. I am very comfortable continuing to use him as my dentist. I highly recommend him and his staff.

Mayberry General Dentistry does everything in their power to bring you the most gentle approach to your mouth's needs. Through them I have learned to relax while in the 'chair.' When we think about Mayberry in the Andy Griffith show we think about 'friendly, clean, wholesome goodness. That's what I think about here. Along with the Doc, Richard Wilcox, my hygienist Randy Leftwich is a pleasure to work with. Today's dental procedure had Besy Mejci and Amber Johnson assisting. Also Assisting to make this place great is the other hygienist, Christina Warren. Rounding off the office are Pam Leigh and Dottie Amberbach who take pride in patient relations. Thanks everyone, Ben

Moved here from Boston and went to two other dentist office and not liking either. Long story short we found Dr.Richard at Mayberry Dental. He has owed the practice for 5 years and has won and award for best dentist. I believe it was for 2015. Very down to earth guy. Everyone is very friendly. Highly recommend.

Went to Dr Wilcox after experiencing a number of those "chain" dental clinic. How refreshing, competent, professional, not always trying to sell you something. He is well regarded by other dental professionals in the area. Besides being very personable and straightforward himself, his staff is as well, and my hygienist ( who lets face it you spend much of your time with) Randy is outstanding, clearly well trained and experienced, not one of this "just finished hygiene school" ones you often encounter.
