Dr. Carlson and his staff have been amazing. I suffered significant tooth and jaw damage over the years because my DMO insurance only allowed me to go to the doc in the box dentist in a different city. A coworker recommended Dr. Carlson when I moved to Jax and I have zero regrets. My wife and I needed extensive work due to the many years of minimal care provided by my insurance company and Dr. Carlson took great care of us. it has been a long road but I don't regret a minute or a dollar of the expense it took to get well. Tonight, a crown from the previous quack in another city broke. I will not hesitate to have Dr. Carlson fix this crown and anything else that I need. His practice has treated us better than I ever could have imagined and I appreciate him and the people that work in the practice. I want to give a special shout-out to Chelsea, who is certainly the best hygienist that I have ever encountered. I absolutely recommend to this practice to anyone that needs dental care by an absolute professional organization.

just now This is the most unprofessional, immoral, and heartless doctor I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. If it were possible to give a zero star rating I would. I went to repair a crown that had broken in November if 2018. I had to go back two separate times after the initial procedure to get the temporary seated properly. On the second adjustment of the temporary crown his staff injured me to the point where I no longer have the proper feeling in my tongue. When they stuck me with a needle for numbing they struck a nerve causing damage to the nerve. I now get shooting and stinging pains in my tongue area because of the malpractice of this doctors office. Not once did they offer to do anything to actually fix the injury. I had to fight to with this office and doctor to get prepaid funds refunded to me for the work that they did not perform after the insult of my injury. To make matters worse the coward never took the time to speak with me on the phone. Instead he would delegate his staff to speak to me while giving me the runaround. He finally wrote a condescending email stating that the injury was my fault and of no fault of their own. When I went to them I had complete feeling in my tongue. Now because of the damage they have caused I will likely never regain normal feeling in my tongue and have to live with it the rest of my life. I highly suggest finding a more qualified and caring office to get your dental services done. Carlson Dental Group is not to be trusted. Read the other reviews and see that this is not an isolated event.

My wife and I have been going here for a couple years with good results, until recently. Long read coming, but I think people should know what they're getting into. My wife went in to have a cleaning and make a plan for an extraction when she was seen by Dr. Carlson himself. He clearly was having a bad day as he berated my wife about why she hasn't had this tooth removed yet, he also said her teeth were much worse than 6 months prior and demanded to know who did that exam (his own staff did). He went on to work in her mouth while telling the hygienist that she needed to talk to my wife about not eating certain things (my wife was right there, no need to talk about her to another staff member, instead of you know, to her directly). He guffawed and huffed is way out of the room eventually. Dr. Carlson said my wife would need multiple crowns and bridges and needed a tooth extracted (we expected the extraction, not the bridges and crowns). The front desk gave my wife the treatment plan which included a laser tooth removal treatment (a nice $400 add on to the extraction). My wife called to have the laser portion of the treatment removed (it wasn't needed, she's already had one tooth pulled without), at which time the front desk told her she needed to talk to one of the "clinicians" before she could remove it. "Clinician" gets on the phone and tells my wife, she has to get the laser treatment otherwise face poorer outcomes and potentially the loss of more teeth (funny because they already extracted another tooth without the laser). Wife said, take it off the plan, the clinician huffed and said fine. Second opinion time! Wife went to a different practice and surprise, Carlson was recommending treatments that were way overkill. Bridges? No. Crowns? No. Laser extraction necessary? No. The new dental office said Carlson was being overly aggressive in his plan and likened it to putting a cast on a cut finger. We've switched practices over this. We liked the majority of the staff and the practice location is nice, but it's clear they are using the esthetic dental ethos in charging more for unnecessary treatments. And when the namesake of the practice treats people the way he did that day, we'll take our money elsewhere. Do your research and get a second opinion for expensive work, and check your charges at Carlson. Don't be swayed into excessive and pricey treatments by a practice that's advertising itself on I-95 as advanced dentistry and facial esthetics.

I saw Dr. Le and his assistant Tyra for treatment the other day and I have to say, it was definitely not the dental experience I was expecting. They were thorough, gentle and very knowledgeable. They helped me understand everything they were doing from start to finish!

AVOID - This office puts profits ahead of patient care. My experience over the past couple of years has been... - a new doctor for every procedure - substandard and careless work - billing errors for procedures not completed (not lower) - pushy sales for needless and expensive extras - arrogant folks that refer to themselves as "management" There are better offices in the area - save yourself the headaches and piles of money and find another place to take your business. I even overheard a few of the employees placing bets on completing an implant in record time. I felt bad for the patient about to get "speed work" done. Folks reading these reviews should note that there are only 1 and 5 star reviews. I urge you to strongly consider another office.

I spent years working for a dentist and I know a good dentist from a bad dentist and Dr. Carlson is an EXCEPTIONAL dentist. It surprises me to see a single negative review for this dental office. It's obvious from the moment you walk into their office that they have invested in the most advanced equipment. I have had many conversations with Dr. Carlson about the advanced training that he has done and continues to do. Most dentists who have the level of skill and amount of experience Dr. Carlson has don't bother with continuing education. This alone, for me, sets him apart. My husband and I would not think of going to another dentist. We have recommended Dr. Carlson to several friends and they too have been very pleased with the excellent care they receive. I highly recommend Dr. Carlson.

Dr Carlson and his team has been our family's dental provider ever since we moved to Jacksonville 4 years ago. Their hygienists are literally the best we've ever had and their office is beautiful, clean and will ease any anxiety you have about going to the dentist. I highly recommend them!!

Dr. Carlson has been my dentist for quite a few years and he is by far the best dentist I have ever had. He has hired the highest quality team to work for his practice and that quality comes across in the care and results you see once your treatment is complete. You will not be disappointed. Highly recommend! His Riverside location is very convenient for anyone working in Downtown Jacksonville.

I did not have a pleasant experience at this dental office. The hygienist who performed my cleaning was extremely condescending and kept getting up and leaving in the middle of the service. I do not feel like I got a thorough cleaning. I was told I needed a root canal on a top molar but it would cost an additional $300 dollars to do a "special kind of x-ray" that insurance doesn't cover. That's on top of paying more than $500 for the RC and crown. They said it's "hard" to do RC's on top molars and Dr. Carlson (whom I've yet to meet) was a "specialized dentist". Then to justify the cost, the nurse said, 'oh, but you'll get a copy of the X-ray on a DVD!' Laughable! I ran out of there as fast as I could. I found another dentist who did the work with no issues and no mention of a $300 X-ray. This place is a money grab with sub-par customer service. Treat your patients right. Don't try to overcharge them. People will spend money when they are COMFORTABLE AND TRUST YOU! My advice, find another dentist.
