Dr. Richard A. Romano is an accomplished dentist in the field of General and Cosmetic Dentistry as well as in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry. His expertise in these four major areas of dentistry allows him to providecomprehensive dental care that is adapted to each patients individual needs.
In 1973, Dr. Romano graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Since then, he has continued dental training to keep abreast of all new developments in this rapidly changing field and strive for professional excellence. Most importantly, he received a certificate of General Practice from Cabrini Medical Center in Manhattan in 1974 and a Certificate in Periodontics (the study of supporting tissues of the teeth) from New York University in 1978. He was one of the first Brooklyn dentists to provide Implant Dentistry and, in 1995, became a Fellow of Implant Dentistry at New York University. Since 2008, Dr. Romano has spent over 2,200 hours in continuing education proof of his dedication to providing the most up-to-the-minute care for his patients.
Dr. Romano has also devoted part of his time to teaching Periodontics and Implant Dentistry as Assistant Clinical Professor at New York University and at Lutheran Medical Center as chief of Periodontics. He also enjoys lecturing outside of the university environment.
Brooklyn-born Lisa has been our resident hygienist from 2016! Although she is the newest staff member to join Dr. Romanos team, she already considers her colleagues like a family (and the feeling is mutual!). She brings her extensive experience of the field and outgoing personality to her job, which, working in balance with Dr. Romano, is vital to maintaining patients oral health: she assists with their periodontal maintenance, scaling, root planning, and prophylaxis. An essential component of Lisas job comes down to communication, and in particular, fostering a dialogue with patients about their dental and medical health to determine any issues. In fact, one of her favorite aspects of her work is meeting and interacting with patients, in order to help them. According to Lisa, I love what I do and thats why Ive done it for so long. The field has changed since her student days at New York City College of Technology. The possibility of learning different methods and new technology, including Invisalign and Perio Protect, is what drew Lisa to Dr. Romanos office. Outside of work, this mother of a family of five leads an active lifestyle, made up of sports, including tennis and yoga, for its calming effects, games such as Mah Jongg, and needlework and other crafts.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Syreeta joined the office of Dr. Richard A. Romano in 2004. Her work is essential to the smooth and expert running of the office! When the patient sits in the dental chair, he or she can rest assured that Syreeta has ordered the supplies, sterilized all instruments and equipment, and set up for the procedure at hand. While she is not assisting Dr. Romano with treatment and taking X-rays, you will most probably find her in the office lab, pouring impressions, charting, or working on a number of other skilled tasks that were informed by her specialist Mandl College education. Her attitude mirrors that of Dr. Romano, who is, according to Syreeta, a perfectionist who always provides excellent quality dentistry for every patient. She acknowledges, however, that his successful office is due to the communal effort of the amazing team: We always put the patients comfort and needs first and we work well together. And the result, to see patients happy with their beautiful smiles, is equally rewarding for Syreeta. Outside of the office she is an avid reader, exercise buff and music fan.
Sicilian-born Teresa officially started working for Dr. Richard A. Romano in 2000, but has been an important behind-the-scenes fixture for a long time since their 1979 wedding! But her job revolves around the patient: she processes and coordinates their financial information and treatment plans. In addition to handling all emails and written correspondence, she is always there to personally, patiently and informatively explain everything and her fluent Italian comes in handy for this! Teresa finds great satisfaction in answering patients questions and concerns, and bringing about their understanding and appreciation of dental procedures, so that they feel comfortable, confident and included in their own treatment. And you can ask her anything! Her preparedness is due to regular practice management classes on dental implants Invisalign and Perio Protect and affiliation to the Association of Dental Implants Associates and American Association of Dental Office Management (AADOM). In addition, she brings a distinct creative dimension to the office, with her degrees in English literature and Interior Design and passions for opera and architectural history this creativity is probably behind another of her favorite aspects of the job, embarking on new and innovative projects and programs that distinguish the office of Dr. Romano from all the rest.

Excellent service all around!!! Teresa was a pleasure to discuss my issue with and was able to accommodate me in getting a quick appointment with Dr. Romano. Dr. Romano was excellent! He truly helped me on my first visit with him! I highly recommend De. Romano and his wonderful team!!!!

Dr. Romano and his staff were very attentive and kind. I was worried about the visit since it's been years since I've gone to the dentist but I no longer am; I was immediately welcomed, the procedures and my health were explained to me, and afterwards, they took the time to get to know me on a personal level (my mom was in the waiting room and she said it sounded like we were having a great time haha). Happy and grateful to have found Dr. Romano and I look forward to my next visit!

This has been a very positive experience from reception to the finale rinse. Dr. Romano has great bedside manner and he made every effort to assure I was comfortable. I got three wisdom teeth removed and a deep cleaning. In the visits it took to accomplish this I really felt cared for by everyone who worked in the office. They took interest in the goals for my smile and made efforts to get to know me as a person. I'm glad I found the right place for my needs and personality. It's pretty cool to have made a great patient/Dr relationship in such a short time. I'd recommend anyone to Dr. Romano.

Dr. Romano's office is very well organized and both Theresa and Joanne were so courteous in scheduling my appointments and making sure that I was throughly informed on the process for my treatment. A very thorough exam was performed by Dr. Romano and I am very happy with his proposal. I cannot wait to get my teeth in healthier shape.

From the admin staff, to the assistants, to the doctors, the service provided at Dr Romano's office is next to none. Dr Romano is extremely skilled, kind, and patient- he even called me after a recent procedure to make sure I was doing well. No dentist I've had has ever done that before! His hygienist and office staff are absolutely wonderful in both their efficiency and warmth- they really make me feel welcome whenever I come for a visit. The office staff are very communicative about upcoming appointments and billing issues and always make sure all costs are transparent up front. This is the best dental experience I've had in many years. Highly recommended.

My experience with Dr. Romano was exemplary. I was very very happy that a necessary tooth removal went extremely well. Not only the procedure, but afterwards there was literally no pain at all and no other issues. I really appreciate the care!

Dr Romano and his team are the best! Very professional and clean office that has managed to stay on top of COVID guidelines. He is a very skilled doctor who has been treating my family for years. Very honest and will not push treatments services if you don't need them. They stay on top of you to ensure you keep appointments so that you teeth stay healthy.
