Growing up, I spent a lot of time in my dads dental office after school. Through that, I gained a first-hand understanding of how important it is to have a warm and inviting dental environment. I wanted that in my own practice: connecting with my patients while providing affordable, competent care is still a top priority.
Today, I love living and working as a dentist in Florida. Before moving to Tampa, I earned my DDS from the Indiana University School of Dentistry and joined my fathers dental practice, where I worked with him for four years. Once in Tampa, I practiced corporate dentistry and knew I wanted to reconnect with patients on a person-to-person level. Thats when I decided to open Pearl Dental Center.
My office staff is equally dedicated to patients and demonstrates their commitment with each office visit and phone interaction. I have two wonderful assistants, amazing dental hygienists, and an awesome office manager, who happens to be my mom.
I love being able to spend time with patients and actually getting to know them. I'm proud to offer a homey dentistry feel, designed to provide necessary services that improve self-perception and understanding fears and needs. I believe in honest, affordable dentistry and educate my patients on the process for each procedure so there are no surprises. My general and cosmetic procedures come with a gentle touch, and include exams, cleanings, fillings, bonding, crowns, veneers, bridges, select denture services, implant restorations, and whitening.

Then. I was so used to having my mouth manhandled at other facilities that I refused most Dental care. Now! So nice to have tender Dental care from Dr Downie and staff. Other offices would do well to emulate her standard of care. Excellent infection control, transparent billing practices, and good use of electronic forms and communication.

Dr. Downie is the absolute best! I highly recommend her practice to anyone in Tampa, FL looking to receive the highest quality dental care. Dr. Downie is kind, comforting, and is an absolute dental expert. Being in the presence of her (and her team members) will brighten your day! Going to the dentist can be an uncomfortable experience, but I always looked forward to my visits with Dr. Downie (+ her team) when I resided in Tampa Bay. Bonus: Pearl Dental's office is SO cute and well-kept. It just makes the experience of being here all the better. Definitely make your next dental appointment at Pearl Dental, you won't regret it!

It was a very long wait to get an appointment as a new patient because Dr. Downie is fantastic and booked back-to-back for months out. Definitely worth the wait for a dentist of this quality.

Excellent visit. Super friendly and caring staff, not to mention clean, state of the art facilities. I lost my prior dentist due to job ins. change. Was able to find Dr. Downie, who because she's excellent was booked for quite a few months before my 1st appointment. However, Laura in the front desk placed me on the cancelation list and kept trying until she got me in way before my expected date. She's the best and will go for the patient the 2nd, 3rd, & forever mile. Even if you are several miles away from her office, believe me, it's worth the trip.

The worst experience I've had with a receptionist, probably ever. I submitted paperwork weeks ago. They ask for it this way on purpose, I assume so they can check insurance and such. I walk in and they can't find my policy. I asked why I wasn't called ahead of time to resolve this, because I can't access any of my information from their office, it's on my work laptop. I had no apology from Laura, she just laughed then got defensive and said it's not usually an issue. Instead of just seeing me for my appointment and worrying about it later, she tells me I can go home to get it but I'll miss my appointment but maybe they can squeeze me in later. I tell her she should've called me and somewhat slam the door in disgust and was asked not to come back. Why bother asking for information ahead of time if you're not going to do your job and address it so it's set up when the patient comes in. Why couldn't this have been dealt with afterward? I wouldn't have returned here anyway, it is a recipe for disaster in the future. I'm mainly disappointed because I waited a month to get in here and now I have to find a new dentist.

I was nervous to find a new dental office when I moved to Florida but I'm so happy I found them. They do a great job with cleanings and teeth whitening. I highly recommend going here.

Dr. Downie is an excellent dentist! She saved three of my teeth by discovering previous root canals which were becoming reinfected. She takes the time to really get to know her patients. With Dr Downie, I actually look forward to going to see the dentist!

Where do dentists go when they need an exam? Dr. Rebecca Downie's dental practice, naturally. My name is Dr. Tim Albright. I am a dentist with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and practice general dentistry in Brandon, FL. I was recommended Dr. Downie by a family member, and I was incredibly pleased with my visit at Pearl Dental Center. From prompt communication via emails, phone calls, and text messages to swift treatment - I was amazed! I had a comprehensive exam, radiographs taken, and a cleaning completed all in under one hour! The friendly demeanor of all team members, updated technology, and a very clean atmosphere were the cherry on top. Rachel is a gentle hygienist and doesn't miss any dental plaque. Laura, the office manager, gives great recommendations. She is an endearing soul who makes finances work to ensure your treatment plan is affordable. I am so impressed by my experience. I needed a local dentist because mine is out of state and I had a broken tooth. This is one of the easiest places to schedule, coordinate treatment, payments, etc. And the staff and Dr. Downie are so wonderful you feel very at ease and not at all tense. Even the crown procedure was super efficient and I felt nothing at all. Great place!!!!

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Downie and Pearl Dental for about 3 years. All I can say is that we have NEVER in all the years we have been going to a dentist experienced the level of professionalism, excellent service, customer service, back office detail, and dental skills that we receive at this office. Everyone, from Laura at the front desk, Jaima (one of several amazing dental assistants), to Dr. Downie herself. Their COVID protocols have been spot on. You wait in the car and at your appointment time you receive a text to enter the office. Masks are required (and we appreciate this). The atmosphere is very professional but doesn't lack for friendliness. If you are looking for dentist, look no further!!

Best Dentist I've ever had!! I have a terrible fear of going to the dentist. Everyone in Dr. Downie's office was so kind and understanding of my fear. They put me totally at ease!! Laura at the front desk was so kind and accommodating always finding appointments for me that worked around my work schedule. The office is immaculately clean and follows all CDC guidelines for COVID. I felt completely safe, comfortable and well cared for every time I have been to Dr. Downie's office. I wish there was a sixth star to give, because this dental office is the BEST I've ever been to! Highest recommendation!

Best dental office experience so far! From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave, Dr. Downie and staff are kind and make the whole process seamless. Dentists are my worst fear, but I felt at ease the entire time! Dr. Downie came highly recommended when I was looking for a dentist (used to go to Coast on Dale Mabry and it was awful). This practice is down to earth, so kind and you can tell Dr. Downie truly has a passion for what she does.
