Dr. Ray English III was born and raised here in Rhode Island. He became interested in oral & maxillofacial surgery after shadowing his father, Dr. Ray English Jr. The career fascinated him due to the wide array of treatments the profession offered, from wisdom teeth removal to replacing missing teeth with dental implants, as well as more complex, major surgeries like corrective jaw procedures. However, what truly drove him to pursue the career was seeing how much he could improve the quality of a patients life with oral & maxillofacial surgery.Dr. English received his D.M.D. degree from Boston University, where he was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society, and received multiple awards for his salivary gland research, radiology, oral diagnosis, and dental implantology. He holds a master's degree in health policy from New York University, and an undergraduate degree in biology from Boston College. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and has authored multiple articles in professional journals, as well as a chapter in a board review textbook. Dr. Ray English III is also a faculty member at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and holds hospital privileges at Tufts Medical Center.When hes not at the office, Dr. English enjoys spending time with his wife, Alexandra, and his two children, Sophia and Jack. He's also an avid golfer and traveler.
