Dr. Ray English III was born and raised here in Rhode Island. He became interested in oral & maxillofacial surgery after shadowing his father, Dr. Ray English Jr. The career fascinated him due to the wide array of treatments the profession offered, from wisdom teeth removal to replacing missing teeth with dental implants, as well as more complex, major surgeries like corrective jaw procedures. However, what truly drove him to pursue the career was seeing how much he could improve the quality of a patients life with oral & maxillofacial surgery.Dr. English received his D.M.D. degree from Boston University, where he was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society, and received multiple awards for his salivary gland research, radiology, oral diagnosis, and dental implantology. He holds a master's degree in health policy from New York University, and an undergraduate degree in biology from Boston College. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and has authored multiple articles in professional journals, as well as a chapter in a board review textbook. Dr. Ray English III is also a faculty member at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and holds hospital privileges at Tufts Medical Center.When hes not at the office, Dr. English enjoys spending time with his wife, Alexandra, and his two children, Sophia and Jack. He's also an avid golfer and traveler.

I was referred for a biopsy; there was a miscommunication as to how I was going to receive my results. However, he did reach out apologizing for the misunderstanding. He was able to accommodate me by giving me my results over the phone.

I brought my teenagers for back to back 3rd molar extractions, this office had the latest technology, was clean, and the staff were professional, prompt and caring. Would return for extractions and dental implants, would refer my family and friends!

Dr. English and staff are friendly, top-notch and professional. All concerns are always explained in an understandable way. I have been a patient since 2015 and trust that I am always in good, capable hands. The office staff is very friendly and helpful.

An outstanding physician and with expert staff, Dr. English understood my situation as I had a bad molar (#31) which became infected while I was recovering from aortic valve replacement, where there's a large chance for the oral infection to spread to my new heart valve. He saw me in a couple of days, even during these COVID times of delayed scheduling, and with novocaine removed the tooth quickly and painlessly, for which I was amazed and thankful. I also want to thank Dr. Verbeyst for the referral to Dr. English.

Great experience with front tooth extraction snd implant from start to completion. Painless and professional. I would highly recommend Dr English to any of my friends and family who are seeking an exceptional oral surgeon. Office staff are also kind and competent . Sandra (Dubey) Wilkerson Amazing surgeon with fabulous team of Assistance and office staff. Decided to have an implant but needed to have a sinus lift first. Sounds scary and painful, right? Reality, No issues at all. Procedure went very well, post procedure uneventful. Great coordination with my Dentist Dr. Roberts (Dr. Rudman's practice) Dr. English, post procedure report clearly sent over to Dr. Roberts promptly as I had a follow up call shortly after arriving home from visit.

1 week out from my wisdom tooth extraction writing this. I went to Dr English III for my wisdom tooth extraction consultation after I did not feel comfortable with another doctors surgical plan (insisted on performing 2 surgeries instead of take all 4 impacted teeth out at the same time). Dr English was polite, knowledgeable, and has a calm demeanor which definitely helped with my nerves for the procedure. After discussing options, we decided to take all 4 teeth out at the same time while under general anesthesia. The entire procedure took only 45 minutes (felt like 2 seconds when they woke me up). The staff was very polite and helpful and made me feel calm before being put under. Besides two days of initial normal swelling and slight lingering tenderness, I feel 95% back to normal while writing this and have already began eating normal food again. If your anything like me, any type of dental procedure outside of a normal cleaning freaks me out and keeps me up at night but I could not be more impressed or satisfied after this experience. Hopefully I never have to see Dr English again but he'll be my go to for any future dental surgery. Go with Dr English and you won't regret it.

I highly recommend Dr. Ray English III. He and his staff made a somewhat complicated procedure as pain free and relaxed as possible. He gave options, described the procedures in detail before performing them, and prepared me for possible complications. I attribute my relatively easy recovery to his expertise and professionalism.
