I have been married to my wonderful wife since 1980 and God has blessed us with a son and daughter, both happily married. Which means we actually have two sons, two daughters, and five amazing grandchildren. I love spending time with my family. They are such a blessing to me.
My love of dentistry at an early age probably came from seeing how much my dad enjoyed dentistry. Helping people has always been a passion of mine. All four brothers andtwo of my sisters also chose dentistry along with uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces. Coming from a family of dental professionals has challenged me to a higher cutting-edge standard of care and a higher level of accountability to provide excellent care. I enjoy attending a wide range of continuing education seminars and mini residencies which I have incorporated and embraced the most advanced surgical techniques, assisted by the latest technology.Creating beautiful smiles and helping our clients become healthier is very rewarding. We focus on treating and eliminating gum disease because it has the most profound affect in improving our general health.

Erin - Registered Dental Hygienist - I was born and raised in Battle Creek. I am married to my wonderful husband Josh, we have two beautiful daughters. I graduated from Kellogg Community College with a dental Hygiene degree in 2007. I have been practicing at Rand E. McKinley Family Dentistry since 2009. My favorite part of my job is talking. I love developing relationships with my patients. I have a passion for providing oral health care and education to my patients. In my free time I enjoy watching my kids play sports and spending time with my family and friends.
Nicole - Registered Dental Hygienist -I have worked for Dr. McKinley for 7 years and love the comfortable, family environment we have here in the office. I graduated from Kalamazoo Valley Community College in 2011 with a dental hygiene degree. I live here in Battle Creek with my husband, two sons, and our dog. In my free time, I love to travel and be outdoors

Professional office staff, very knowledgeable and friendly. I feel that my teeth receive the utmost care at this dentist office and I am always treated with kindness and respect. Would highly recommend!

Will literally tell you are on the verge of needing root canals. But it turns out he's just filling your old fillings. That are also perfectly fine. Went to a different dentist after seeing that he lied about how much my insurance covered after getting the actual coverage from the insurance company, essentially double dipping. Other dentist with no knowledge of previous dentist, checks no cavities. Real twisted. Will sit there and brag about his Alaskan farm and getting a pilots license, just to really rub that salt in. 0\5 Class 0/5 everything

Excellent dental office. Great place for kids, too. All of the staff are inviting and are experts at what they do. Highly recommend!

I wish words were enough to say how great this dental office really is. By far, this is the friendliest, most experienced, most comfortable dental office I have had the pleasure of going to. Normally I am a "nervous patient", but here I feel like I'm visiting friends rather than getting a root canal.

Dr Rand and his team deserves TEN STARS, so I have to make a second review here. The entire staff here makes you feel like family, not like a patient. They genuinely care about you, and make even nervous patients like myself feel very relaxed. I have had two root canals and an implant with Dr McKinley, and I am extremely pleased. After procedures, I feel less pain than I have from other dental offices, and for the implant, Dr McKinley actually has production equipment to create the implant tooth right there at his office. Other dentists have to use outside companies for production of the tooth, and their estimates or the procedures were $1000 and $2000 more. I travel a lot, so I am making this review in comparison to many other dental offices I have visited in my travels. That being said, this is THE BEST dental office I have had the blessing of finding in over 30 years.

I am willing to change the first rating, but some resolutions need to occur first. I have been calling the office to schedule a New Patient visit, 4 times, left 2 voice messages to return my call. No answer yet. I called during their "normal business hours". Why? Short staffed? Is this normal? Has anyone else ran into this issue here? Is it SOP to have 1, or 2 people playing multiple roles. When do they listen to the day's voicemails? Weird?

Worst experience ever!! Never even got my kids fully checked in before I asked them to go to the car. The front desk person is one of the rudest, most inconsiderate front desk persons I have ever dealt with!! If your job is so hard that you can't handle it by yourself you should not take that out on me! Good job impressing new patients!

The staff here treated me very kindly. I went in today for a root canal and was very nervous. Dr McKinley was very patient and understanding explaining everything to me so I would know what to expect. And it really was painless!! I would recommend them to anyone and I found my new home

Dr. McKinley is an outstanding dentist and such an engaging, warm and caring person, and his staff - from the receptionist to the dental assistant and the hygienist - are professional, attentive, thorough and very friendly. My experiences at the practice have been exceptional, including an urgent situation for which they managed to work me into their schedule and produce an amazing restoration the same day using CEREC technology. Thank you, Dr. McKinley and team, for the fantastic care and service.

I love this dentist. You won't find a better dentist in the area. He has over 40 years experience and it shows. My wife and i have had some pretty bad experiences with dentists in the past that have made us leery of dental procedures but this one puts our fears at ease. I went in for a root canal today and was in and out in an hour. In the past I have had root canals take as long as 3 hours with other dentists and it was awful but not here. I would recommend him to anyone even if you are content with your current dentist you could be happier here. They have a friendly staff and great service. You couldn't ask for more from a dentist.

(same work was doned as quoted by the other dentist in Ft. Myers FL) . Amazing to have a great dentist like this in our small town. The permanent crowns we're made during my appointment. No need to come back in a week like most places. Very pleased with their work there.
