Dr. Rana Khattak grew up in a suburb of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She did her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in chemistry. She went on to complete her Doctorate in Dentistry from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, one of the top ten dental schools in the country. She has over 23 years of experience and has practiced in Missouri, Illinois, and Arizona before settling in Virginia in 2003 after getting married. In 2006, Dr. Khattak and her family relocated to Fredericksburg, Virginia where she joined the established practice of Dr. William Friedman.
Dr. Khattak is dedicated to serving her patients by providing quality dentistry for adults and children in a friendly and caring environment. She firmly believes in educating her patients on the need for good oral health care and changing a smile for the better. She especially enjoys preventive dentistry and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Khattak keeps abreast of the latest findings in dentistry through journals and attending continuing education courses. She is a regular attendee of the Nations Capital Meeting every year in Washington DC.
With over 35 years of dental experience, Teresa is a valuable asset in our office. She will put you at ease as soon as you walk into our office and has a great sense of humor. She keeps the office running smoothly and can answer all your questions regarding your insurance plan and any other pertinent details regarding your dental treatment. Our patients usually leave the office feeling they have made a friend at the front.
Kelli joined the practice in 1991 and has enjoyed serving generations of multiple families. With her calm, efficient and beautiful manner, Kelli is adept at making you feel comfortable during your dental visit and is able to answer all your questions about your dental treatment.
Karan is an accomplished dental assistant with over 20 years of dental experience. She will win you over with her smile and bubbly personality. She takes the time to explain all the details of your dental procedure and will listen to any concern that you may have.

Wonderful service!!!. Dr. Khattak and her staff is super helpful, friendly and courteous. They listen to your concerns and explains the process very thoroughly. Dr khattak took the time to explain to me about my teeth/gums and what we need to do. She talked to me about the different options and plan to take care of the problem.. Their office is always clean and especially during these times they are very careful with covid guidelines. Will always recommend the dentist to friends and family.

I was out of town visiting family and friends and I broke a tooth and a friend recommended her dentist, Dr. Khattak. And she was very friendly, professional and took her time with me to explain the procedure. I had no pain and Dr. Khattak was very gentle. I highly recommend Dr. Khattak for your dental needs.

Dr. Khattak in an exceptional dentist. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable, but she's sensitive to those who are nervous and has the ability to put them at ease right away. She tells you what she is going to do during each step, at least she does that for me, as she knows that helps relieve my anxiety and tension which had been my normal at any dentist visit before her. I have never had a dentist understand my anxiety until I met Dr. Khattak. Also, during the "early Covid time" I broke a tooth. I called Dr. Khattak's office, which was closed like all other businesses, not knowing if she would see me. She herself called me back, asked questions, and said she would see if a staff member would consent to come in. A staff member agreed and they scheduled my appointment for the next day. I would say that not many offices would do this for their clients. They did the proper protocol but overall, their concern was STILL to relieve my anxiety. I recommend Dr. Khattak and her extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. I have never felt more welcome in a dentist office than when I go to Dr. Khattak's office. She remembers you, strikes up a conversation with you before she begins and I believe she's genuinely interested in the lives and well-being of her clients.

Dr. Rana Khattak and the staff are amazing! They provide care for adults and children. My kids are not scared to go to the dentist at all! They are great at explaining the treatments needed and the procedures. They are patient and friendly. Their office is clean and relaxing. I highly recommend Dr. Khattak and her office!

So anyone who knows me, knows that I have very high standards when it comes to medical professionals. That being said, Dr. Rana Khattak and her staff are EXCEPTIONAL! First of all the cleanliness of the dental office is impeccable. Also, Dr. Khattak is very knowledgeable, caring and treats each patient with the utmost professionalism and respect. She doesn't just tell the patient we have to do this just because. She explains it carefully and makes sure you are comfortable throughout the whole process. Don't look elsewhere go see her! You can thank me later

My wife ended up going here for a severe tooth pain because they were the first that would take her in. She actually ended up liking the dentist which is good because it takes a lot to get her to go the dentist. Every started out good, and the dentist recommended quite a bit of work. The problems started when we got out first bill. We have really good dental insurance and we know what our co-pays should be for the work we got done. The first bill had the full price of the work (not the contracted rate because we are in network) and they had not even billed insurance for all the charges. My wife called and started asking questions based on our insurance plan. The lady that does billing actually started yelling at my wife when saying that "We only have to deal with herm she has to deal with hundreds of people." It took many rounds of letters and at one point I put all the charges and the allowed rates and co-pays. They were still trying to bill us the full amount and not the contracted/allowed amount. We know that is not allowed since they are under contract with our insurance provider. When everything was properly billed to the insurance company we should have owed no more. When We called the insurance company they said some of the procedures needed diagnostic materials sent in. We had to remind the dentist to send them in. After they were sent in and upon review some of the work was not even medically necessary. So that left us with paying out of pocket for it. During this process they sent us a bill saying some of what we owed was 120 past due, even though they had still not properly billed everything to our insurance company. All in all we ended up paying what they said just to get away from that place. It was the worst experience I have ever with a medical/dental establishment (this includes the many many years I spend in the Marine Corps).
