DR. RAMI TAHHAN DDS PLLC - General dentist in Sterling, VA

Hello, Im Dr. Rami Tahhan. I was born and raised in Northern VA and was part of the first graduating class of Dominion High School in 2005 in Sterling, VA. I attended college at Virginia Commonwealth University on scholarship where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Molecular Biology. From there, I attended dental school at the University of Maryland in Baltimore where I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery. My training is a mixture of private practice, focused on cosmetics and general dental health, hospital based dental care, and identification of missing persons in the office of the chief medical examiner.

After working in multiple dental offices throughout northern VA, I developed a fundamental understanding of what patients in our area want and need. As a result, I opened my practice in order to provide a level of care that is unlike any other dental office, exceptionally focused on quality while keeping an eye on cost. Titan Dental Care is a place for patients to gain a comprehensive understanding of their dental needs, whether it be cosmetic, essential or surgical. Meanwhile, we will go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable.

The team at Titan Dental Care believe in the importance of preventative care. We focus on keeping patients in good oral health so that they can live a full, healthy, and enjoyable life that is free from oral pain. This starts by educating our patients on what they can do to stay healthy at home. In our family dentist office we recommend that patients eat a healthy diet that consists of green leafy vegetables, lean protein, nuts, dairy products, and crunchy fruits and veggies. Eating these foods along with drinking water can help to keep teeth healthy and make them stronger. By simultaneously reducing sugar intake, patients can also reduce their risk of cavities.

It is also important to brush and floss throughout the day. Instead of waiting for bedtime to brush teeth, carry a small toothbrush and use it after meals and snacks. This makes it possible to remove sugar and bacteria from the teeth and gums before it has the opportunity to turn into acid that can attack the teeth. This preventative step can greatly reduce a persons' risk of getting a cavity or gum disease. We understand the importance of taking these steps at home and will spend the time necessary to educate and inform patients so that they can stay healthy overall. Education, after all, is essential for living a long and healthy life.

Understanding the importance of these regular dental exams, the staff at Titan Dental Care work to make each patient extremely comfortable. This includes being welcoming and kind while performing dental treatments in a way that is painless and relaxing. Patients visit our dentist office because they trust us to do just that take care of their teeth and gums, gently. The majority of our patients are local and come from the greater Sterling area, we also see patients that are looking for gentle dental care.

Seniors, on the other hand, often struggle with gum disease and oral infections. As people age, their teeth can become weaker and infected more easily. Bone loss is incredibly common with seniors and by conducting regular dental exams, the team at Titan Dental Care can help seniors to have strong teeth and reduce the risk of them falling out. Since over seventy percent of U.S. adults suffer from tooth loss, preventative care is important.

A. Primary, or 'baby,' teeth are important for many reasons. Not only do they help children speak clearly and chew naturally, they also aid in forming a path that permanent teeth can follow when they are ready to come in.

A. First, rinse the irritated area with warm salt water and place a cold compress on the face if it is swollen. Give the child acetaminophen for any pain, rather than placing aspirin on the teeth or gums. Finally, see a dentist as soon as possible.

A. Sealants work by filling in the crevasses on the chewing surfaces of the teeth. This shuts out food particles that could get caught in the teeth, causing cavities. The application is fast and comfortable and can effectively protect teeth for many years.

A. Have your family dentist evaluate the fluoride level of your child's primary source of drinking water. If your child is not getting enough fluoride internally through water (especially if the fluoride level is deficient or if your child drinks bottled water without fluoride), then we may prescribe fluoride supplements.

A. Soft plastic mouthguards can be used to protect teeth, lips, cheeks and gums from sport related injuries. A custom-fitted mouthguard will protect your teeth from injuries and even provide protection from severe injuries to the head.

A. There is very little risk in dental X-rays. Family dentists are especially careful to limit the amount of radiation to which you and your family are exposed. Lead aprons and high-speed film are used to ensure safety and minimize the amount of radiation. Digital x-rays provide an even greater level of protection by using up to 90 percent less radiation.

When you are looking for a dentist, you are not just looking for someone who can clean your teeth. You also want to have someone who is looking out for your interests overall. Your dental health is not just about your smile. It affects your entire body. This is why you want to find a

Seeing a family dentist on a regular basis is vital for maintaining excellent oral hygiene and gum health in adults, but how does this translate to children? While adult patients may know exactly when they need to see a dentist, questions may arise about checkups for children. Since children may not fully understand the necessity

Most family dentists say brushing twice a day is one of the most important parts of good oral hygiene. Using the right toothpaste is equally important. Brushing removes bacteria, food particles and debris from teeth surfaces and the tongue.Oral bacteria feast on food particles and they excrete acids that eat away at teeth enamel. This

Finding a family dentist makes it easier for you to take care of all of your family's dental needs. Anyone with kids knows how chaotic things can get daily as you try to shuffle the family to playdates, school obligations and sporting events. Worst possible experience you can have. These guys are cheaters of the worst kind... First up I took an appointment with Rami Tahhan on 04/13 via ZocDoc as he had close to 450 reviews with 4.9 rating. His office called me if I can come today which I said I was ok... I go in there and filled the paperwork and I was asked to come in and some other doctor/nurse showed up instead of Dr. Rami which I doubt would have made any difference as I only wanted to glue back my crown. They said they had to take some X-rays before they can do that which I thought is the standard process and was ok with it... First up he said Root canal has to be done, and he can refer me to endodontics and then he can glue back by crown. I had no pain whatsoever in my teeth, and it didn't make any sense to undergo a surgery. Even though I was starting to sense something is wrong here, I was willing to believe that at some point I might need one but not today as I had no pain whatsoever so I declined. I wanted him to just glue my crown for today and if there is a need at a later time I can take care of it. All this while the reception lady in the background was walking with the credit card swiping machine which I didn't realize at that point was waiting to charge my card. Now that I declined the root canal option she came up and told me it is going to cost me $250 to glue my crown back and how do you like to pay for it? I was shocked that someone would charge me in the consult room even before anything was done. She said we don't want any trouble later... I would have walked out at that point but for my upcoming travel and the difficulty of chewing from one side without the crown. I paid $250 with my card and it took him all of 2 minutes to glue it back. It is ok to charge money but their behavior is completely unacceptable, unprofessional and unethical to charge a patient in the consult room before doing anything. This shows absolutely no empathy towards patients and money is only they care about... It is one thing to tell the patient this is how much it would cost and get their prior consent before performing any procedure but making them pay from their consult chair is pathetic to say the least. These kind of Doctors should be barred from practicing because they are no good to the society and bring a bad name to the other doctors and a total lack of trust in doctors. I would never go this practice and would do everything in my powers to report them to the insurance companies and all social channels. These guys figured out how to rig the reviews "It should be a wake up call to ZocDoc and other rating sites to figure out how they track their rating systems and identify malpractices by these cheaters and prevent other people falling victims to such rigged voting systems. STAY AWAY FROM DR. RAMI TAHHAN AND TITAN DENTAL CARE... DON'T GET SCAMMED BY THESE MONEY MINDED IDIOTS!!!
