Dr. Griffin focused on dental occlusion at The Dawson Academy. This training provided him with a better appreciation for the way teeth are meant to function together and the problems that result when they dont. Most importantly, this training provided an understanding of the systematic approach to treating those problems.
Dr. Griffin is also certified in both oral and intravenous moderate conscious sedation from Dr. Kenneth Reed and Dr. Stanley Malamed through the Oregon Academy of General Dentistry and the Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry. This training has proven beneficial for patients who are especially anxious or require particularly complex treatment.
Dr. Griffin holds a surgical and prosthetic fellowship from the Misch International Implant Institute, as well as a fellowship from the International Congress of Implantology. Both organizations are committed to a comprehensive and systematic approach to implant related dentistry.
Teeth are meant to last a life time and ideally, the best thing we can do to a tooth is nothing. However, over time and for a variety of reasons, teeth sometimes break down. When they do, treatment to correct the problem and keep the tooth is required. Typically, the earlier we provide treatment the more predictable the outcome.
My job is to help you keep your teeth or their functional equivalent for your entire life. I have come to believe that one of the most important services I can offer a patient is a thorough examination followed by a diagnosis and treatment plan for both their present and future dental health. I believe a dentist should act as an educator and counselor to their patients. Good dental care and healthy, functional teeth make a positive difference in peoples' lives.
