Patients who come to Dr. Q Dental can receive general dentistry and cosmetic dental care from a single practice. We are supported by an assistant, registered dental assistant, hygienist, and insurance office manager.

Marie Kato Registered Dental Hygienist. Marie holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Hawaii. Marie began working with us in 2006 as Office Manager and temporarily left to attend Dental Hygiene School. She returned to our office in 2013 and is now responsible for removing calculus and plaque from surfaces of teeth, oral health screening, administering local anesthetics, and applying preventative materials (e.g., sealants and fluoride). She also teaches our patients proper oral hygiene. When she is not providing quality care to her patients, Marie enjoys volunteering at health fairs at a local hospital, listening to live bands, salsa dancing, and spending time with her family and friends.
Jennifer Garcia Registered Dental Assistant/Treatment Coordinator. Jennifer has been in the dental field for almost 18 years. She enjoys being a part of a caring team that always puts the needs of the patients first. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, her two kids, and her family. Jennifer is also a huge Dodgers fan!!
Patty Hierro Registered Dental Assistant. Patty has been in the dental field for 5 years, and she is planning on going back to school to become an RDH. She spends much of her free time with family, friends, and traveling. She is a fan of the Lakers and USC Football.
Valerie Medel Dental Assistant. Valerie has been in the dental field for 14 years. She is currently working towards getting her RDA. When she is not at work, she enjoys hiking and spending time with her husband and two kids. She is always looking forward to new challenges in life, both personally and professionally.
Kassandra. Kassandra has been in the dental field for 4 years now. She enjoys being a part of a genuinely caring team. She enjoys going to concerts and spending her time with family and close friends.

Patients know Dr. Charlyn Quiec by the nickname Dr. Q. In over ten years serving the community, she has developed a reputation as a knowledgeable Monrovia dentist, Invisalign dentist, and caring, committed professional.
If you are exploring Invisalign for the first time, its likely that you have a lot of questions. You may be looking for a solution to teeth that are out of place, angled, or uneven, but you may be uncertain whether the treatment option is right for you.
The next step is to take X-rays, pictures, and impressions of your teeth to create a three-dimensional digital model. Dr. Q relies on this model to develop a treatment plan that will gradually move your teeth into place. She can use this same software to show you how you might look at each stage of the treatment.
After the visit to the dentist, Monrovia patients receive their first set of Invisalign aligners: clear plastic mouthpieces that fit both upper and lower teeth. They will be customized to your treatment plan and your mouth, and unlike traditional metal braces, they:
You may experience some discomfort as your teeth adjust to the realignment, but that should go away after a few days (if you are concerned, please contact Dr. Q right away.) Every two weeks or so, you will move to a different set of devices to continue realignment. You can schedule visits for Invisalign checkups atour office about every six weeks to make sure you are progressing towards your goals.
The Invisalign treatment is for Monrovia patients who have good dental health but are concerned about the alignment of their teeth, such as an overbite, underbite, crossbite, or gaps between teeth. Dr. Q can advise patients with other dental concerns about their options.
In addition, its important to remember that Invisalign depends on your wearing the devices as much as possible: about 20 hours per day. While the process offers advantages over braces, it requires your commitment to a better smile.

Monrovia Invisalign patients should expect to wear their aligners most of the time, including during sleep. You should take Invisalign devices out for eating meals and snacks. If you have a special occasion coming up, its okay to remove the aligners for a short time.
The removability of Invisalign is both a huge advantage over traditional braces and a potential problem. It gives you the flexibility to go without aligners as needed, but its up to you as a patient to make sure that you are wearing them to get the most from your investment.
You may find speaking normally a bit tricky at first since it takes a while to accommodate the aligners. However, many people find that Invisalign is much less noticeable to others than wearing braces.
Dr. Q would be happy to see you as often as you like! However, Invisalign patients will only need to visit her office in Monrovia once every six weeks or so. This is so that she can check on your progress, address any concerns, and help you move towards perfect alignment.
Many patients are great candidates for the treatment. Dr. Q only treats patients with mild-to-moderate alignment concerns. She refers complex cases to a trusted orthodontist, and she can help you determine the ideal option for your needs.
Monrovia patients will experience different outcomes based on their behavior, age, and dental needs. Adults usually complete treatment within a year as long as they are wearing their aligners 20-to-22 hours per day. Teens can expect treatment to last about the same amount of time as it would wearing braces only without the challenge of dealing with wires and brackets.

Doctor Quienc (Q) is amazing and a huge blessing to have found her. My previous dentist performed a failed implant procedure approximately 2 years ago and he could not figure out why I always had pain when chewing. One visit to Dr. Q and she performed the most comprehensive dental exam that I have ever experienced. She quickly figure out what the problem with my implant was and recommended me to a specialist who confirm her findings. Dr. Q and staff have been so wonderful. I was so worried about my bad gum recession and had nightmares about my teeth falling out. I went to see Dr. Q about a treatment plan. BEST Dentist EVER! Dr. Q is amazing! She is incredibly knowledgeable and wonderfully kind. Her mix of professional and compassion are exceptional. She listens well and offers only truly required care. I always know exactly why she is doing a procedure and why it is necessary. Dr. Q is also continually on the lookout for the latest state of the art equipment to serve her patients. I remember how thankful she was when she purchased a machine that allowed her to do fillings by laser so that patients did not require a shot for local anesthesia. She knew this would personally benefit me because of my pain disease and so she let me know about the machine when she saw me next. I so appreciated her personal concern for me. Our family has been going to Dr. Q for years and we cannot even imagine going to another dentist. Recently I had a friend who went to another dental office. She had a horrible experience. I sent her over to Dr. Q. She was able to gently and respectfully explain the problems she was having and then remedy the situation. I would send anyone to her! Her staff is also wonderful. They are all very helpful and kind. As with most...visiting the dentist is not on the top of my "love list", so the fact that ALL of us go to Dr. Q with positive attitudes says something phenomenal about her! I would highly recommend her and her team!

Everyone at Dr. Q's office was extremely friendly and professional. Dr. Q spent time getting to know me and going over my medical history to make sure I felt comfortable. Having an autoimmune disease is hard especially when people don't understand it and want to brush your symptoms off, but Dr. Q took the time most Doctors never do. During my cleaning, as soon as I clenched my eyes, she offered to put something over them realizing I was photosensitive. Dr. Q and her staff were relatable, charming, and oh so nice making my experience a phenomenal one!
