Dr. Michaelson has degrees from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore (B.A. in Biology), Southern Methodist University in Dallas (M.S. in Biology with emphasis in the physiology of aging), The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.), and The University of Michigan School of Dentistry (Certificate in Endodontics).
Dr. Michaelson was inducted into the dental honor society of Omicron Kappa Upsilon in 1999. He haspublished original research reportsin professional journals, including the International Endodontic Journal ('Is Pulpitis Painful?'), Compendium ('Management of a Severely Malpositioned Replanted Avulsed Tooth: A Case Report'), and theJournal of Endodontics ('A Novel Treatment for Propagated Crown Fractures' and 'Long-term Evaluation of Fracture Removal Treatment for Propagated Crown Fractures').
Dr. Michaelson was certified by the American Board of Endodontics in 2005 as a Diplomate, an honor bestowed upon endodontic specialists displaying expertise in the field. Dr. Michaelson has been a reviewer for the Journal of Endodontics since 2005 andhas alsoserved asan expert witness for the State of Ohio Dental Board and as a Trustee of the Greater Cleveland Dental Society. Dr. Michaelson has been listed asa'Top Dentist' in Cleveland magazine. .
