Dr. Alan Barbieri comes to us from a highly successful practice in the Charleston area. With over 30 years of orthodontic experience, Dr. B, as he likes to be called, is a diplomat of the American Board of Orthodonticsa distinction that fewer than 60% of orthodontists in the U.S. have achieved. Dr. B has been board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists.
Novus Orthodontics is proud to announce Dr. Joel Cooper will be joining our practice on January 1, 2021. Dr. Cooper will be taking over the treatment for all of our current patients. Joel Cooper was born and raised in East Tennessee and attended the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry and the Ohio State University for his professional training. His career has included significant time in academics and private practice, having spent 8 years in full-time education at MUSC and Baylor College of Dentistry and over 18 years of private practice in Nashville and Hilton Head as well as Singapore. He launched the Department of Orthodontics at Cincinnati Children 's Hospital and has been published in numerous journals. He trained as a specialist in both children 's dentistry and orthodontics Dr. Cooper has lectured in the USA, Ireland, Vietnam, Cambodia, and China. He has led numerous dental missions throughout the world including the Philippines, Vietnam, and Costa Rica. But despite his taste for world travel, you will see he is a southern boy at heart and loves interacting with people from all backgrounds, and particularly enjoys getting to know his patients. As he says to us, 'everyone everywhere wants to be proud of their smile, and it is a joy that as a team we can make that happen'. We are excited to introduce you to our newest Novus Orthodontics team member and hope you will enjoy getting to know him too.
Dr. Joseph was born in Charleston and raised in Greeleyville, SC (a town so small that it has no stoplights!). He is a graduate of the Citadel and received his DMD at the Medical University of South Carolina and his Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Rochester in 1982. He has been board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics since 1994 and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Joseph has been in practice since 1982. It has brought him much joy teaching orthodontic concepts to dental residents of Palmetto Richland for 27 years. Dr. Joseph specializes in traditional metal braces, ceramic braces, Invisalign and TMJ therapy.
Dr. Joseph has three adult sons and is married to his wife Janet, who has two daughters. Their children recently blessed them with three grandchildren and two on the way! He loves spending time with his big family, including his ortho staff. Dr. Joseph and his team strive to provide a fun, caring family-like environment with the top priority being giving their patients the best result possible.
Dr. Keith Street has provided high-quality orthodontic care for children and adults in upstate SC since 1990. He received his DMD from MUSC in Charleston. Following dental school, he completed a one-year fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia with a primary focus on advanced restorative techniques in the periodontal-involved patient. Dr. Street then completed a two-year Orthodontic residency program and received his Orthodontic specialty degree at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Street is board eligible with the American Board of Orthodontics and a member of the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, and the Anderson Dental Society.
Dr. Lang Foster graduated with a BS degree from Wofford College in 1990. While at the Medical University of South Carolina, College of Dental Medicine, he received an HPSP scholarship from the United States Navy, and following graduation, entered the Navy and completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency. After serving in the Navy for seven years as a general dentist, Dr. Foster was selected for the TriService Orthodontic Residency Program at Wilford Hall Medical Center on Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. There, Dr. Foster earned his certificate in orthodontics in 2004 and served as staff orthodontist at the United States Naval Hospital Yokosuka, Japan from 2004-2007.
Dr. Foster is a member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists. He enjoys keeping up with current trends and technology in orthodontics and routinely earns more than thirty credit hours of continuing education a year. Dr. Foster calls Anderson, SC home and has had a thriving practice there since 2009.
Dr. Diane Piccioni grew up in upstate New York and moved to South Carolina in the summer of 2018 to begin her orthodontic career. She attended dental school at SUNY at Buffalo and completed her orthodontic training in New York City. Her hospital-based residency program afforded her the opportunity to treat several complex multidisciplinary and orthognathic cases over the course of three years. She focuses on proper diagnosis and meticulous treatment planning prior to beginning treatment in order to achieve the best outcomes possible.
In her spare time, Diane enjoys running, hiking, reading, traveling, and playing guitar. She is an avid sports fan, rooting for the Buffalo Bills, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Syracuse Orange basketball team. While a piece of her heart will always live in NYC, she is excited to make South Carolina her home!

I am so happy with my experience with Joseph orthodontics. I got married and was on a tight schedule to have my braces removed .The entire staff was so accommodating and made sure They scheduled my appointments and followed up. They even went over and beyond in ensuring that I had my retainers before travel on the same . Because of them I have some amazing wedding pictures! Definitely recommend. Overral, Everyone is absolutely lovely thanks to the entire team De'Sha, Charley, Ada (Ronnie), and Melissa, Stephanie & TaNajae. Thank you You all Understood the assignment and delivered !

I've been going here for 2 1/2 years and they did a phenomenal job on my smile. Always accommodating and efficient with your time. I am beyond satisfied with my results and would recommend them 10x over!

Hello so today was a good day I was in some pain when I got to my appointment one of my braces was hurting my tooth when I walked in the office I was greated with a smiling face Nurse Stephanie and said hello I said I need y'all to do something about one of my brackets.She said no problem soon after I was called to the back and greated with another smiling face nurse Melissa and nurse Ronnie. I was talking about my pain while I was walking to the back as soon as I sat in the chair lol Dr Holton came to the rescue I tell you they are very clean and wear they mask while in your mouth and he took care of the problem lol I can eat now If you need a orthodontist I recommend them they listen and care .

I was very happy with the work done by Dr Joseph and his staff. The Tech was super helpful and knowledgeable. They did great work fitting me for a new retainer, and I would certainly recommend them to anyone needing an Orthodontist.

I have been going to doctor Joseph for about three and a half years. Every vist that I have had has been amazing. I moved from blythewood back to my home town and I have been driving an hour just to come to doctor Joseph and his crew. They are wonderful and very well trained individuals. They recently took my braces off and this new smile has made me a new person.If I could recommend one thing I would recommend everyone to come to this wonderful orthodontist.

I was seen by a total 3 orthodontist due to my military career and Joseph Orthodontics was by far the best experience I've had. Dr. Philip Joseph, Deanna, and Christine are the real dream team! Professionalism, superior customer service, and most importantly great results drive me to write this review. This team was readily available and saw me at my appointment time, every time! As far as COVID- 19 protocols temperatures were taken before each appointment, seats were blocked off to comply with social distancing guidelines, and masks were worn by the staff at all times! Thank you Dr. Joseph, Deanna, & Christine!

This is the best orthodontist I have ever been too. Destinee helped me from that time I've enter in the office. Best place for Orthodontic care. My children have been coming here for years. The front desk staff always greet you with smiles and helpfulness. My children like coming to see Dr Joseph. The follow up appointments are always on the days and times that are convenient for me. Thank you Dr Joseph for great service and a wonderful, personable and professional staff. I would give 10 stars, if it were possible.
