Dr. Philip A. Rispoli Jr, DMD

1037 US-46, Clifton, NJ 07013

It has been my honor to meet and care for so many people in the years Ive been a dentist. I have watched families grow over time, seeing children become young adults who then bring their children to the office, and caring for the older generations, as well.

It is rewarding to have time to get to know each patient as a person, to learn who they are and be part of their lives. I have learned that by really listening to someone, as they talk about their day and activities, my world is expanded and I appreciate that. I also know that, using what a patient shares with me, I am able to craft a care plan that works for the whole of their situation, beyond their dental needs.

I particularly enjoy working with people who have dental anxiety. It is amazing to help a fearful person work through their concerns, offering support and encouragement as well as a painless visit, and have them tell me they look forward to coming back!

I want our patients to know that everyone at Notchview Dental Group cares about them as a person. We want only the best for them: full, happy, successful lives; great health; and a smile they love to share!

One of the fascinating things about dentistry is the ongoing changes. I have been practicing since 1972 and today we are able to do so many more things, more comfortably, then when I first started seeing patients.

I enjoy staying at the forefront of advancements in the field, learning about new techniques and technologies, and honing my skills. My patients deserve the best dental experience and strongest results; continuing education helps me exceed their expectations.

I grew up in Clifton and now live in Nutley. Julie, my wife, is a hygienist for a Periodontist. I have three children, four grandchildren, and love time with them, especially when were grilling outdoors. I also enjoy fishing, spending time in the garden, and reading, and adore our family dogs.

I began practicing in 1972 and at the time wondered if I had made the right decision. My father and his brother were also dentists, so I was always exposed to the profession at an early age. They loved what they did, and were positive influences on my career choice. It is now 2018 and I would do it all over again in an instant. Dentistry has provided me with a great lifestyle and a strong sense of being able to help people, and has provided our team and their families with income and benefits that makes their lives better.

It is my privilege to see people from all walks of life, all socioeconomic conditions, and all ages. I have learned so much from them: how they deal with loss of a job, a loved one, or a serious illness. How they celebrate the good things in their life and inspire me to do the same.

The connections Ive made on a personal level with my patients have allowed us to form a bond of trust and friendship. I feel dentistry is a two-way streetwe learn mutually from each other and we also get some pain free dentistry done. Its a win-win for us all!

Continuing my knowledge during the past 40 years has allowed me to remain knowledgeable in the latest technologies and treatments. It has enabled me to give my patients the necessary options for them to make an educated decision in their treatment.

When Im not working, I am at the Jersey shore, working in the garden, or doing some home renovation projects. I love to fish, cook, explore new restaurants, travel, and be with my family. I live for family, friends, and food!

It is fulfilling to have cared for and gotten to know so many people over the years. I am happy to have made friends with incredible people, watched the changes in families, and been part of many lives. I cannot imagine a more rewarding profession!

What I love most about being a dentist is developing friendships and earning the trust of patients. I enjoy listening to and getting to know each patient on a personal level. Everyone has stories to share and I appreciate hearing of someones experiences, about their families, travels, and passions. Our conversations create a bond and help us move beyond patient and provider.

Listening to each person also gives me insight into what I need to consider when creating that persons treatment plan. I want to offer them the highest quality dentistry and have everything work with their particular personal and clinical situation.

That desire is true for everyone at Notchview Dental Group: our doctors and staff always have our patients best interest in mind. This makes for a caring, friendly atmosphere, where patients feel relaxed and safe in our hands.

I believe every professional, and especially those in healthcare, owes it to their patients to stay current on advancements in their field. I am an active member of the International Team for Implantology Straumann Implant Study Group. I also regularly take continuing education through the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine and Academy of General Dentistry Certified continuing education.

I grew up in Northern New Jersey and now live in Morris County. My life is shared with my wife and two sons. When not in the office, my priority is time with family and friends. I also like traveling and enjoy playing golf.

We recognize that all of our patients are unique and deserve to receive dental care that reflects their individual needs. Our experienced and talented dental team is committed to working with you and your family to create a comfortable, stress-free, and rewarding dental experience every time you visit our practice.
