Dr. Christopher Petrush grew up in New York where he attended Rennselear Polytechnic Institute. After graduating from Dental School at New York University, he moved to San Francisco and completed a residency program at UCSF.
Dr. Monika Elek was born in Hungary and moved to Los Angeles with her family as a child. She graduated from UC San Diego with a degree in Microbiology and went on to earn her dental degree at New York University.
Dr Petrush is a Diplomate of the ABOI, the highest level of credentialing possible in the field of implant dentistry. He has lectured Nationally and Internationally on the topic of bone grafting. He is a guest speaker for the AAID Las Vegas Maxicourse and is currently a Western District officer for the AAID.
Sedation dentistry offers individuals with general anxiety about going to the dentist or fears about a specific dental procedure the opportunity to have a stress free and more comfortable experience. Utilizing safe and controlled sedation techniques prior to the dental procedure the patient is eased into a state of complete relaxation. This eliminates any discomfort, pain, and preoperative anxiety that may be associated with a particular dental visit. With sedation dentistry patients typically feel more at ease post-operatively as they have little or no memory of the actual moment-to-moment dental procedure.
Commonly referred to as laughing gas, nitrous oxide is used as a mild sedative to reduce anxiety and allow a level of relaxation during a procedure. Nitrous oxide is inhaled through a small mask over the nose. It is administered for the duration of the procedure and is turned off as the procedure is coming to an end. The effects of this method of sedation wear off very quickly.

The office is a pleasant environment, with a soothing aquarium and a central fountain. And all the people who work there were happy people. They were kind and friendly to the patients, but also to each other. Dr. Petrush was genuinely committed to putting me at ease and took his time to engage in conversation to answer questions I had about upcoming procedure, with no sense of rush. He was gentle, a skilled dentist, and I commend him on his "people skills." I was also impressed by the efficiency and expertise of his staff. Who would have thought a dentist's office would be your "happy place?"

These folks have customer service nailed. No one likes going to the dentist, but the staff here really makes every visit a delight. Patient, helpful, knowledgeable, happy to explain everything from procedures and insurance coverage. If you live in the area, I recommend Dr. Petrush and Elek's practice.

Honestly the BEST dentist I have EVER been too. I have the WORST anxiety about dentists and they took very good care of me! Front office staff is super friendly as well! I'll be recommending to all friends and family !! Keep up the AMAZING work!!

I have been going to Diablo Valley Dental since they purchased the practice and I would never go anywhere else. They have updated, modern facilities and provide excellent personalized dental care for their patients. The front staff and support staff are wonderful and Dr. Petrush and Dr. Elek are excellent dentists. True experts in their field. My experiences there have been amazing. They truly care for their patients. They do not pressure patients into having dental work done. When providing dental work for their patients they are very understanding and they listen to the patient's needs. If there is any indication of pain during a procedure, they make sure the patient is comfortable before proceeding. After surgery the staff follow-up with patients to make sure they are doing well. I highly recommended them!

They are very thorough in helping me maintain my dental hygiene. In addition, the office staff (Jennifer) and dental hygienist, Christine are excellent as well.
