Our office is conveniently located in Benicia and offer our patients high-tech equipment allowing for same-day dentistry (such as single visit crowns) which is something unique to our office and hard to find from other local dentists. Our entire team is dedicated in helping you keep your teeth and gums their healthiest and your entire smile looking its best!

To My Valued Patients and Friends: Im writing to let you know that in May of this year, I will be stepping away from practicing at Carquinez Dental Group. I have truly enjoyed my relationships with my patients and staff and have gotten endless satisfaction and joy from caring for you and your families over these last 36 years.

I could only arrive at this decision because of my association with Dr. Brian Houston and Dr. Sukhmani Singh for the last 14 years. I leave the dental practice knowing your care is in the hands of two exceptionally skilled clinicians. They are dentists of the highest integrity. I know many of you have already met them on annual exams and routine treatments. If you havent had the opportunity, please check our website (www.carquinezdental.com) for their personal and professional biographies. They are responsible for introducing high-tech expanded care to the office, including orthodontics (via Invisalign/SureSmile aligners), single visit crowns with the CEREC system, and even full mouth implant rehabilitation! They will continue in this cutting-edge care and advancement in the years to come with thoroughly vetted technologies and additional clinicians such as Dr. Samuel Chiu, who has been providing some oral surgery and implant services at the practice on alternate Mondays.

The same friendly and caring staff of Receptionists (Kerrie, Carolina, Arlene, and Darlyn), Assistants (Zoila, Laura, Lily, Mashell, Larabelle, and Jacqueline), and Hygienists (Kelly, Kari, Tara, Sara, Matt, and Toni) will continue to serve you. Tammy, the Office Manager, will still be running the show.

I want to thank each of you for the opportunity of being your Dentist and for your past and present support since 1986. It means more to me than I could ever express. Please know that you have my best wishes for the future.

Dr. Houston was raised in Petaluma, CA and earned a B.S. degree in Biological Sciences from U.C. Davis. He lived in Manhattan for four years and attended New York University where he graduated with his D.D.S. degree in 2004. He returned to the Bay Area and lived in San Francisco while completing his postgraduate specialty residency in Prosthodontics at U.C.S.F., graduating as the Chief Resident in 2007.

Dr. Houston is a member of the Napa Solano Dental Society (NSDS), California Dental Association (CDA), American Dental Association (ADA), and American College of Prosthodontists (ACP). He attends many continuing education meetings throughout the year and has lectured internationally on Implant Dentistry.

Dr. Houston joined Carquinez Dental Group in October 2007. He enjoys cars, motorcycles, running, snowboarding, weight training, coaching his kid's soccer, baseball, and softball teams, and spending time with his wife and kids.

Dr. Singh obtained her DDS at the University of Southern California in 2004, after which she completed a one year general practice residency at the Los Angeles County and the Los Angeles Ambulatory VA facility. She has worked in private practice in Beverly Hills and Simi Valley for one year prior to coming to the Bay Area for her Prosthodontics residency. She completed her Postgraduate Prosthodontic training at the University of California at San Francisco, where she graduated as the chief resident.

Dr. Singh was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where she attended the University of Toronto for her undergraduate studies. She relocated to Los Angeles in 2000, and has been in the Bay area since 2006.

Tammy started with Carquinez Dental Group in 2006 as a Registered Dental Assistant and is now the Office Manager. She graduated from Diablo Valley College's Dental Assisting program in 2005. Tammy is a Benicia native who enjoys kickboxing, weight training, and spending time with her husband, her kids, and her friends.

Has been with Carquinez Dental Group since 1986. Kerrie was born and raised in Vallejo and has lived locally all her life, she is a true California Girl'. She likes reading, taking drives to the beach and doing local adventures, as well as travel when the opportunity arises! She also likes to cook, take long walks and spend time with family and grandchildren.

Has been with Carquinez Dental Group since 2000. Graduated from Dental Hygiene School at Taft College. Tara is married and has 2 children. Plays volleyball with the Benicia City League. Likes to go to the movies and just hang out with friends.

Matthew returned to Carquinez Dental Group in 2016 after graduating from Dental Hygiene School at Diablo Valley College in 2013. He is married and has 2 children. His likes and interests include spending time with family and friends, outdoor activities, music, cars, and rooting for the San Francisco Giants.

Expanded Functions works with Dr. Houston and Dr. Singh. Has been with Carquinez Dental Group since 1981. Attended Solano Junior College and graduated from the Solano Regional Occupational Program for Dental Assisting. Obtained her EF (expanded functions) certificate from University of California at San Francisco. Zoila is originally from El Salvador Central America. She enjoys camping, hiking and jet skiing with her family. She loves long walks with her dogs, Molly and Gracie. She also enjoys reading and knitting.

Chair side assistant for Dr. Shafer. Has been with Carquinez Dental Group since 2003. Graduated from Western Career College in 2000. Lily loves her job and working with Dr. Shafer. She enjoys working with all the employees in the group too!
