This oral surgeon is the truth! I came her in 11/21 to get all four of my wisdoms extracted. As soon as I stepped in his office the staff made me feel comfortable and relaxed and when I met the surgeon I felt even better because he was truly down to earth and even cracked a few jokes with me. Now for years, every time I here of other people experiences with getting their wisdom extracted it's never good. I've heard of pain for days and unable to eat or speak, but this surgeon seemed flawless when it came to my recovery. Right before the surgery I asked if I could keep all the teeth and he politely declined, but gave me one of four after the surgery and that one tooth was definitely a keepsake for me (maybe they grind them down and produce other synthetic teeth with them!) I chose to get anesthesia for my tooth extraction so when I woke up, I wasn't groggy but very aware as if the anesthesiologist used minimal anesthesia. After the surgery I was placed in my wife's care and was taken home. My surgery was midday, so by the evening I was preparing myself for all of the pain that was coming after the numbing and pain meds wore off but to my surprise NO PAIN!!! I had to get incisions in my gums for tooth's 1 and 16 I believe and my mouth was sore but by the evening I was totally fine other then the newly created holes in my gums that only took about a few days to heal over. He only prescribed me 800 ibuprofen but it wasn't really necessary. He wanted to stay away from the stronger pain meds and I was happy with his decision. They gave me a list of foods to avoid while healing and in a few days my wisdom tooth holes were healed and nearly closed. I sent his office my paperwork from my employer for my days off to recover and his staff expedited those forms back filled out completely. I'm grateful for his excellent hand skills and ability to do dental work with out injury. Dr Polumbo deserves every letter, every word and every sentence of this post and I just wanted to return the appreciation in the form of a review. Now granted, every recovery is different, and you may not have as much luck as I did for a painless recovery, but if you're to pick any surgeon in the area of Fort Washington, or even in the whole DMV, please chose Dr. Pat Palumbo!
