Dr. Pamela O. Edwards was born to be a dentist and loves her work. She has practiced dentistry for over 25 years. Her father was a dentist, practicing for 60 years, her uncle was a dentist, her brother is a dentist who has been practicing for 50 years, and her daughter is a dentist.
As a general dentist, Dr. Edwards enjoys all areas of comprehensive dental care from preventative treatment and simple restorations to crowns, bridgework, and cosmetic care. Dr. Edwards uses her extensive experience to provide the highest level of dental care in a gentle, pain-free, and compassionate manner.
Dr. Edwards is known for her caring, humorous and professional attitude and superior chairside manner. She treats all of her patients as a member of her family. Dr. Edwards is trained in all aspects of dentistry but especially enjoys cosmetic dentistry. She is committed to excellence in the dental field and has taken many hours of continuing education. She has used the same Dental lab since 1990 because of their excellent quality and attention to detail.
Dr. Edwards also worked with the military. Before soldiers were going to be deployed in Afghanistan, she would provide checkups and dental work. Dr. Edwards is a member of the ADA (American Dental Association), the Alabama Dental Association, The Academy of International Dentistry, and South Baldwin Woman of the Year. Her greatest success is that she raised her daughter to be such a fantastic dentist. Dr. Longs extensive success as a dentist is truly one of Dr. Edwards greatest sources of pride.
Dr. Mary Long is a third-generation dentist and the sixth dentist in her family. She was a straight A student her entire life, President of the Student Government, and a member of almost every club that both her high school and college offered.
Mary is the ideal Dentist for any patient. She is caring, patient, kind, and funny. Her attention to detail is apparent in the work she does. Cosmetic Dentistry is Art and Medicine, so naturally, you would want an intelligent, artistic Doctor to do the work that will give you a beautiful smile.
Her passion for dentistry flows from a heart that loves to help others look and feel their best. She values your time which means you will be seen promptly at the appointed time. She is up to date on the current cutting edge technology while at the same time having the wisdom passed through generations of a family practicing dentistry. A Gulf Shores native, she has lived in south Baldwin County since 1989.
Dr. Long is an Auburn University graduate with magna cum laude honors. She went on to attend the University of South Alabama to pursue her graduate degree and finished at the University of Alabama at Birmingham with her Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Dr. Mary is a huge football fan and loves almost every sport. Her fierce love for football is apparent with her orange kittys chosen name of Cadillac Williams (after the great Auburn running back ).
In 2000 she took an assisting course to improve her skills in the dental field. She started working front desk in 1999 where she advanced in insurance knowledge. She moved to Alabama in 2010 and now resides in Gulf Shores.
Ive never left a review before, but this dentist truly deserves one! I was only in Gulf Shores for summer classes and planned to leave back for fall semester in four days when I had chipped my tooth and they scheduled me in immediately, did a check up and fill in the same day! The staff was incredibly friendly and as a young adult, going to a doctor for the first time alone, they made me feel so comfortable and welcome! The next morning I even received a phone call from the dentist to see how I was feeling. Absolutely amazing!
Amazing staff and wonderful doctor. Was there on vacation and I had recently had a root canal done at home before going on vacation. I had extreme pain for the last few days of my trip. I called to see if they could work me in, they got me in immediately. Turned out the molar behind the tooth I had the root canal in was cracked. Since I was leaving the next day it would be nearly impossible to fix the tooth, since I needed it crowned. They took care of me the best they could and sent their findings to my dentist back home. I would highly recommend this practice!!! Thank you so much Dr. Edwards!
