Dr. Olga M. Sanchez-Hernandez has been providing families with exceptional orthodontic and pediatric dental care for some time. Dr. Sanchez earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico in 1990. She then obtained her Doctor in Dental Medicine degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Puerto Rico School of Dentistry in 1993. In 1996, Dr. Sanchez received a Master of Science in Clinical Dentistry and a Certificate in Clinical Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In 1999 she completed a Masters of Science in Oral Biology and a Certificate in Orthodontics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her unique and extensive training makes her one of the only dual-trained specialists in the nation.
Dr. Sanchez feels it is important to stay on the cutting-edge of orthodontics and pediatric dentistry. Thus, she maintains memberships in many prestigious professional organizations to keep up-to-date on the latest techniques and technology. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Birmingham District Dental Society, American Association of Orthodontics, College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics, Southern Association of Orthodontics, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Birmingham Pediatric Dental Society, and the UAB Alumni Association.
Dr. Sanchez and her practice contribute to numerous charitable organizations, including the Alabama Ballet in Birmingham, American Heart Association, Birmingham Zoo, Children's Dance Foundation in Birmingham, McWane Center in Birmingham, United Way, U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, Georgia, and Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Birmingham.
Our staff operates as a team and is committed to high quality service with emphasis on individual needs in a comfortable environment. Our hygienists are especially qualified to deal with childrens and adolescents specific needs. The orthodontic assistants are certified by the Academy of Orthodontic Assisting. All of our personnel are kept abreast of the latest developments through continuing education courses. We take great pride in each staff member's training and capabilities. Karen has several years of experience in the dental field. She enjoys her two dogs, Iris and Luna. She is an avid animal lover as well as a lover of the outdoors. She has been with Dr. Sanchez since 2009.
Robin has several years of dental experience. She is married with two children. She has several pets and loves helping animal rescues. She is also an avid University of Alabama fan. Roll Tide! She has been with Dr. Sanchez since 2009.
Casey is an orthodontic/dental assistant. She enjoys time with her family, boat rides, and shopping. Casey has a cat named Glide. Her favorite place are the river and Gatlinburg. She has been with Dr. Sanchez since 2019.

Absolutely wonderful Dr. Sanchez is kind and patient and we look forward to coming to the dentist every time I was completely terrified of my dentist as a child so it brings me so much joy to see my daughter happy about going! My son had his first dentist visit on yesterday morning. The staff was very friendly. Dr. Sanchez was very nice, very professional and very informative. My son cried and screamed but Dr. Sanchez and the lady who clean my son's teeth help me comfort my son. I am so glad I found a dentist who is compassionate and very caring towards her patients and the parents.

Hands down the absolute best. Dr. Olga and staff go above and beyond to create a friendly environment which puts our kiddos at ease. They love going to the Dentist now. The staff have provided suggestions to step up their brushing game and my kids are listening. It makes my job as a Momma easier at brushing time when they want a good report/prizes at their best appointment.

The hygienist was fantastic. My child chattered her head off and the lady was sweet as could be! She was great to explain everything as they did it to put her at ease. Dr. Sanchez is great also. My only complaint is that the follow up appointment to deal with her cavity (that does cause her pain) was schedule for 2 1/2 months from now. That seems like a long time.
