Dr. David Ahearn founded Perfect Smiles in 1993 and added our second location in 2010. With well over two decades of expertise in cosmetic dentistry and restorative dentistry, Dr. Ahearn regularly participates in continuing education to stay on top of the latest dental techniques and technologies and so does the rest of the Perfect Smiles team. Together the team devotes more than 60-plus hours to continuing education every 90 days.
He also takes great satisfaction in helping fearful or apprehensive patients feel relaxed and comfortable through sedation dentistry. Unlike many general dentists, Perfect Smiles offers three kinds of sedation:
Cutting-edge technology and its ability to improve the lives and health of his patients is a passion for Dr. Ahearn, who has become a noted expert in the world of dentistry. He regularly teaches advanced programs across the country and is often a highlighted speaker at American Dental Association (ADA) events, where he shares his knowledge and love of dentistry with other doctors.
Dr. Ahearn is also the founder of Design Ergonomics, the leader of the field in high performance dental office design. With Dr. Ahearn being a leader in dental productivity, their dental office designs represent a highly integrated synthesis of current dental knowledge and technology.
Dr. Mary Jane Miranda has been a member of our family since she was a child, when her mother worked at Perfect Smiles. At an early age, she expressed an interest in dentistry. Her interest grew through the years, as she came to the office with her mom and saw Dr. Ahearn and other dentists at work. After graduating high school, she started working at our front desk and soon after became a certified dental assistant.
In 2007 she graduated from Rhode Island College and took a hiatus from the practice to attendTufts University School of Dental Medicine. She was so committed to becoming a dentist that she commuted to Boston from Somerset, MA every day for four years! After obtaining her degree, Dr. Miranda returned to practice dentistry where she first fell in love with the profession at Perfect Smiles!
Dr. Miranda is an advisor to the Dental Assisting Program at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School. It is here where she helps steer the vocational program and students toward future success. Her involvement on the board keeps the dental program up-to-date with inside knowledge of industry trends and technologies, both cutting-edge and proven industry standards.
Dr. Dan Tracy joined the Perfect Smiles team after completing his general practice residency in San Francisco, where he gained exposure to the dental field, discovering the areas of cosmetic dentistry and surgical procedures to be his favorite. He has spent many years volunteering to educate children on the overall importance of oral hygiene and has taught dental students how to perform exams and about the importance of patient education.
When you come to us for orthodontic treatment, youll have the pleasure of working with Dr. Neil Blitz. He works out of both of our offices. A native of Brooklyn, NY, Dr. Blitz received his degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and studied orthodontics atThe Ohio State University College of Dentistry. Before joining the Perfect Smiles team in 2009, Dr. Blitz was in private orthodontic practice for 25 years in Rhode Island.
Thanks to Dr. Blitz, our patients enjoy multiple choices for their orthodontic treatment, including ClearCorrect and Invisalign clear aligners, traditional metal braces, and clear ceramic braces that easily blend into smiles with tooth-colored wires.
Dr. Madhuri Patel is a skilled, likable, and patient dentist. Patients love her because she provides excellent dental care in a gentle and relaxed manner. With a passion for family dentistry, she recently moved to Rhode Island from New York City after completing her dental school at the largest and busiest dental school in the U.S.,NYU College of Dentistry. Her coworkers and our patients appreciate her commitment to her work and the well-being of her patients. She always carries a positive attitude.
Dr. Neuenhaus joins us with clinical experience from New York University College of Dentistry, where he gained exposure to the dental field and fell in love with oral surgery. He is eager to gain more experience and learn as much as he can as he continues to grow as a practitioner.
Nicole has been in the dental field since 2008. She is a registered dental hygienist and a certified dental assistant, but she has been serving our office since 2016 in operations. Nicole networks with dental office managers around the entire country. She enjoys the endless opportunity that she has been given to help create a culture that focuses on continuous improvements for the team and for the patient experience. When away from the office, Nicole likes trying new restaurants, being outdoors, hiking the White Mountains, and spending time with her friends and family.
Brittney joined Perfect Smiles in 2013. She began working in the dental field in 2012 after completing her bachelors degree in dental hygiene. Since then, Brittney has completed additional training for dental lasers, pediatric dental care, and sedation dentistry. She says that the best part of her job is growing team members and seeing patients leave happy! While away from work, Brittney enjoys spending time with her family, especially her son. They enjoy traveling together. She also loves learning about health and wellness. Brittney even teaches yoga!
Veronica has been working at Perfect Smiles since 2014. She has a bachelors degree in business management. Veronica loves the people she gets to work with each day. She also loves the feeling of helping patients who are in need. Our practice has given her the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally. When away from the office, Veronica loves to spend time with her family. She really enjoys traveling and exploring new places.
Karissa has been helping our dental patients since 2009. She started working at Perfect Smiles behind the scenes transferring X-rays from an old software to a new one. She worked her way up through the company to her current position overseeing the insurance and billing department. Perfect Smiles offers endless room for growth, and Karissa has learned so much over the years. In her free time, Karissa enjoys snowboarding, camping, yoga, and spending time with her friends and family.
Jessica will always be here for her patients ensuring they have the best dental experience possible. Shes been helping patients since 2002 but joined our team in 2014. Jessica is certified in CPR, BLS, and ACLS. She loves being able to connect with patients and become a small part of their lives. It is her privilege to help every person who walks through our door. She also loves the team she works with as a second family. In her free time, Jessica enjoys going to the beach and spending quality time with her four stepchildren
Laurie has been working in the dental field since 1989. She joined our team in 1998 and has been helping our patients ever since. The best part about her job is her co-workers and the wonderful team environment. Laurie spends her free time doing her favorite things: being with her grandchildren, gardening, and baking.
Lindsay has been helping patients better understand their dental insurance since 2018. She says that the best part of her job is working with our wonderful staff and enjoying the benefits of being an employee at Perfect Smiles. In her free time, Lindsay enjoys outdoor activities, family time, reading, movies, and visiting cafes.
Deveny started working in dentistry in November of 2019 as it is her first time working in the dental field. What she enjoys most about my job is that she likes working for a company that values both the patients and the team members. Deveny especially likes helping others whether that be patients or the team. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, going to the beach, and spending time with her children.
Elise loves the ability of our team to make people feel better about themselves. She has been helping us do that since 2016. In fact, Elise is grateful to work for a company that cares so much about their patients and employees. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family.
Kendra is a registered dental assistant certified in ACLS, BCLS, and CPR. She began her career in 2011 and joined our team at Perfect Smiles in 2014. She is now a treatment advocate who works with the doctor to phase out treatment plans for patients based on their value and objectives. When shes not making your experience better, Kendra enjoys traveling, paddle boarding, and spending time with friends and family.
Kim has been working in the dental field since 1988, but she recently joined our team in September 2017. Kim has a medical transcription certificate as well as an AADOM (An Association Dedicated to Dental Office Management) membership. At her core, Kim simply loves helping people, and Perfect Smiles is a great office to work at and receive care from. The people make the practice we have great patients and staff! In her free time, Kim enjoys spending time with family and friends, fishing, traveling, and listening to music.
Mariel has been helping people improve their health and confidence since 2014 when she joined our team. In fact, she said that helping patients is the best part of her job! When she is not busy at the office, Mariel enjoys spending time with her daughter.
Destiny started her dental career in 2019 as a patient advocate. She has a passion for helping others and loves being able to connect with patents in need. She will be attending school in the fall of 2020 to get an associates degree in science general studies with the hopes of one day becoming a pediatric nurse. When not at work, Destiny loves spending time with her family and boyfriend, trying new restaurants, crafting, traveling, and giving back to the community. She is so grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of the Perfect Smiles family!
Sean really loves the collaborative environment here at Perfect Smiles. Each person on the team has a shared goal of helping our patients. When away from the office, Sean enjoys yoga, game nights, and spending time with family.
Rochelle started her dental career in 2019 as a patient advocate. Her favorite part of her job is working with her amazing teammates and patients at Perfect Smiles. When not working, Rochelle loves to travel to different countries and states with her fianc, and spending time with her 2 wonderful children.
Sheila is a certified restorative functions dental assistant who began her career in 1999. She later joined our team in 2004. Sheila loves that dentistry is continuously changing. It is gratifying for Sheila to be able to learn alongside her team to provide the best possible care for patients. She also loves getting a sincere thank-you from her patients, co-workers, and doctors. It means a lot to be appreciated! In her spare time, Sheila loves making memories with her love, her friends, and her family. She enjoys gardening, cooking, hiking, and leaving her footprints wherever she can.
Yazlyn joined our team in 2015 with one year of experience in the dental field. In addition to her dental assistant certification, Yazlyn is trained in BLS and ACLS. She loves being able to make people feel more confident in their smile. Yazlyn is amazing with children and looks forward to being a mom one day. Until then, she spends her free time kayaking, hiking, and walking her dog.
Aliana has been improving smiles since 2015 and became a part of our Perfect Smiles family in 2016 as a dental assistant. She is currently going back to school to get her degree in dental hygiene. In addition to those classes, Aliana is certified in infection control and radiology. In her free time, Aliana enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She also loves to play with her Great Dane named Molly, who is the most loving and down-to-earth dog on the planet.
Britney enjoys making people feel good about their smile and boosting their confidence! She has been doing this work since 2004 and joined our team at Perfect Smiles in 2012. Britney has completed training in radiology, CPR, ACLS, GLO whitening, and orthodontic assisting. Britney loves summertime, camping, and all sorts of outdoor activities. She also enjoys spending time with her grandmother and having playdates with her best friends and their children. Britney had her first child (a daughter) in the summer of 2018, and she is amazing!
Hailey came to Perfect Smiles in 2019 from the Diman Regional Vocational Technical High Schools dental assistant program. She is DANB certified in Infection Control and Radiology. Haileys favorite part of her job is helping patients feel at ease while they in her care. When not at school or work, you can find her playing softball, shopping, and with friends, family and her dog, Boston.
Crystal loves making a difference in peoples lives and helping them improve their oral health. Seeing patients change for the better is a great reward, and Crystal has been doing that since she entered the dental field in 2004. She joined our team 10 years later and says that the best part of her job is getting to know her patients. Crystal has advanced training in basic and advanced life support, local anesthesia, sleep apnea, medical emergencies, periodontics, and implants. In her free time, Crystal enjoys exercising and spending time with her family.
Elise received her certificate in dental assisting in 2004 and began working in the dental field. Four years later, she earned a degree in dental hygiene. She then joined the Perfect Smiles team in 2012. The best part of her job is bonding with her patients and helping them feel comfortable during their visits. She also likes to motivate her patients to improve and maintain their oral health. During her free time, Elise enjoys cooking, gardening, crafting, wine tastings, going out for dinner, kayaking, spending time up north, yoga, exercising, decorating for holidays, and spending time with her friends and their kids and pets.
Kim has been working her way up in the dental field since 2011. She began as a CDA graduate from Greater New Bedford Voc. in 2012 then attended Cape Cod Community College, where she became an RDH in 2016. She continued to Mount Ida College, where she earned a BS degree in dental hygiene. Kim loves educating patients about their oral health and helping people become confident in their smiles. She especially enjoys getting to know her patients. Kim was the 2016 recipient of the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award for clinical excellence. She also speaks fluent Portuguese. In her free time, Kim enjoys spending time with her family and traveling with her longtime boyfriend, Tyler, and their pug. She loves going to the beach, shopping, trying new restaurants, and having a good time with her friends.
Nicole loves helping patients in any way she can. She has been working in the dental field since 2002 and joined our team at Perfect Smiles in 2010. Nicole is certified in radiology, Zoom Whitening and GLO Whitening systems, CPR, and ACLS. She continues her education by taking additional courses throughout the year. Nicole loves helping patients build their self-confidence, improve their smile, and help them overcome dental anxiety. She also finds value in educating patients in the importance of oral health and its role in their overall health. In other words, shes saving lives! When shes not in the office, Nicole likes to spend time with her family and friends. She is also a big Boston sports fan! Go Celtics, Bruins, Red Sox, and Patriots!
Vania began her dental career in 2001 and joined our team in 2011. She has a bachelors degree and has completed additional training in brain trauma, concussion and dementia, infection control and safety, smoking cessation with periodontal disease, laser use in periodontics, autoimmunity and inflammation in periodontics, and dental hygiene therapeutics in local anesthesia. Vania has a background in biology/biochemistry and 18 years experience in periodontics. She enjoys understanding the process of periodontal disease on a micro level as well as the inflammatory response and how it affects the individual. The critical thinking behind each diagnosis is what makes Vanias career in dentistry most fulfilling. In her free time, Vania enjoys exploring the philosophy of human behavior and evolution. She loves Russian classical music like Sergei Prokofievs Romeo and Juliet, which is so powerful that it gives Vania chills. She also loves teas; a shared cup of tea with another is one of lifes true beauties. Vania has an open mind for everyone. You never know the difficulties of that individuals life, and the more we understand one another, the closer we become and evolve as a species.
Kaitlyn started her career in 2011 as a Dental Assistant, then took a break for hygiene school. She completed hygiene school in 2016 at Mount Ida College in Newton, MA and received her Associates degree and in 2017 she received her bachelors. She says the favorite part of her job is helping patients feel comfortable at the dentist and making sure their teeth/gums are healthy to last them a lifetime. When patients come back saying they have seen or have felt improvements and are less apprehensive at each visit, it makes her job worth it. When not at Perfect Smiles Kaitlyn enjoys spending time with family and friends. She has grown to love being outdoors, sightseeing, and traveling.
