Dr. NathanBird grew up in the small town of Alsea, Oregon, located just outside ofCorvallis. He completed his undergraduate studies at University of Oregonand graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia.
During his time in Philadelphia, he participated in community outreach programsfocusing on increasing access to dentistry for children, such as Give Kids aSmile. He is currently an active member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association and the Mount Baker Dental Society. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his two daughters. He also enjoys running, biking and hiking in the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest.

Front Office ManagerAmy: Amy came into the dental field eight years ago after leaving a 911 dispatching career of 17 years. She enjoys getting to know the patients and following their care. Sheunderstandsall facets ofoperationsand is a great asset to our practice. Amy lives on Camano Island with her husband, a Snohomish County Deputy and their daughter Kayla. In her off time, Amy is owner and operator of Amy Dawson Photography. She also enjoys traveling, gardening, riding her motorcycle, and walking her three rescue dogs; Chief, Fonzie and Boogie.
AssistantsAngie: After graduating from the Dental Assistant Program at Makalapa Naval Dental Clinic in Pearl Harbor, HI in 1998. Shortly after she moved to the Pacific Northwest where she has lived ever since. A true nature lover, she enjoys wildlife and landscape photography and has traveled all over the west coast.
Jaclyn: After a previous career as a CNA and Legal-Medical Transcriptionist, she decided on a career change and pursued dentistry. She graduated from SPIDA in Jan 2020 and started working for our office shortly after. As a lifetime resident of the Stanwood/Camano area, she feels blessed to be able to serve the same community she grew up in. In her off time, you can find her clamming, crabbing, kayaking and enjoying all that island living has to offer. She also enjoys traveling, roller coasters, drive-in movies and helping her husband with various wood working projects.
HygienistsTamsyn: As a child, Tamsyn always loved going to the dentist and appreciated the excellent care she received while there. As a dental hygienist, she recreates that same experience for her patients. Establishing personal relationships with her patients with a concentration on education and motivation is the foundation of her clinical approach. Tamsyn grew up in La Conner on a small farm just outside of town. When she is not at work, Tamsyn spends her time running, writing, and traveling.

I switched to Dr. Bird after 32 years with my former dentist who had just retired. Dr. Bird and his staff are amazing. Everyone is friendly and caring, and Dr. Bird is incredibly personable. He takes the time to get to know you and genuinely cares. His staff are thorough but gentle. Some of the best cleanings with little to no pain in the days after the checkup. I ended up having a serious underlying dental issue and while Dr. Bird definitely caught it, his Hygienist saw it too before he mentioned it! With staff that great, you can never go wrong!!!

Dr. Nathan Bird is a wonderful dentist, and very patient. He understood my fear of needles and was very accommodating. He explained what needed to be done and why and how. Angie, Dr. Bird's assistant helped him replace 2 large old amalgam fillings on one tooth yesterday. She also explained each step. Earlier Shannon and Tamsyn cleaned and took X-rays of my and my husband's teeth. They were both competent, thorough and informative. I HIGHLY recommend this office for all your dental needs. Amy took care of billing our insurance. As a retired pharmacist, I know how confusing insurance can be and she seemed to breeze through it...no problems.

Nathan Bird and Staff are extremely professional and proficient at what they do. Both my wife and I recently changed dentists and the difference is amazing. Both he and his staff are extremely knowledgeable. I was surprised by just my cleaning alone and how detailed they were while still being extremely gentle. My mouth never felt so clean and healthy. My wife and I recommend Nathan Bird to anyone looking for a top notch dentist that has a fantastic office, fabulous staff, modern equipment and who really cares about his patients. Haha, how interesting, I was indeed a patient here... years ago. I just happened to have remembered what an awful experience I had, that it stayed with me for years, and so I decided to leave a one star review. I could leave a long and in depth review about it though! Also yes I did happened to move to California. Guess that makes my experience less valid? Gosh even writing this has me sweating nervously. Dentists don't have to be jerks, something of a revelation for me!

What an amazing group , the office staff care about you as a patient. They work with your scheduling and respond with understanding. Dr Bird has made my family feel comfortable and we enjoy the efficient service. The quality staff are kind, and communicate with each individual family member needs.

Dr. Bird and staff are awesome. My father-in-law is a dentist so my wife is very picky about who she trust her teeth too. Dr. Bird more than passed her requirements. I highly recommend him and his staff.

Dr. Nathan took out my last wisdom tooth and the experience was far better than I expected. The entire visit took only forty minutes, from the time I sat in the chair to the time I left. They communicated clearly through the procedure and the only surprise I got was how quickly it was over.

The receptionist Amy has caused me problems in my life by not simply doing her simple job more than once.... Im not going back and I'd/will warn people not to go to that establishment. Dr. Nathan is an alright guy but nothing special or pleasant? regular schooled dentist imo. The building is what made me check them out. Its clean yes.... but Amy is terrible at her job.

I've been going to this practice for over a year now. Dr. Bird and his staff are always friendly and professional. Upon entry into the office you are greeted my Amy. She runs the front office and always greets me with a smile. She is competent and professional. It's good to have someone like Amy to help simplify the dental process. Amy knows how to navigate through all the insurance claims, she calls me with reminders of upcoming appointments and had actually called me to ask how I was after a complicated visit. She is always looking to improve the service in the practice. If there is a snag in the insurance or payments Amy is always willing to go to extra effort to resolve the problem. It's nice to have that kind of service and trust. Along with Amy the hygieneists and assistants rock. I have been in Angie's chair every visit. She is very competent and keeps her room sterile like it should be. It's easy to talk to her and we have conversations beyond dentistry which is nice. Dr. Bird is very good. He is professional and on the conservative side which I like. He doesn't try to set you up for big procedures if it's not needed. He doesn't mind answering questions and takes time with his patients. My hygienist is very good. She is not heavy handed with her instruments so I'm always comfortable while I'm there. She has a good sense of humor too. I definitely recommend Nathan Bird Dentistry.

I used to drive an hour each way to my dentist because I have a little bit of anxiety about dentists. I am so happy I decided to give Dr. Birds practice a try. The entire staff is warm and welcoming. Dr. Bird is gentle and has a warmth about him that puts you at ease as soon as he walks in the room. I've seen a few different hygienists (something I NEVER would have done at my previous dentist) all of them are warm, welcoming and very gentle. Amy the office manager is as good as they come, she is always welcoming and truly concerned for everyone who calls or walks through their door. Because of Dr. Bird and his staff I no longer fear going to the dentist!

I've been a patient of Dr. Birds for nearly two years. Their office is truly one of the nicest, most helpful facilities you could hope to work with. Amy is their office manager and knows how to help you maximize your insurance benefits minimizing your possible out of pocket costs. Everything is treatment planned and explained in detail. She also calls to remind me of appointments which helps me out. She's answered every question I've ever had with a smile! Dr. Bird is amazing. Chair side he takes the time to explain what's going on with your dental health and their office also has intra-oral cameras that show you exactly why treatment is being recommended. Dr. Birds assistants are great as is both of his hygienists too. Everyone seems to truly enjoy their job and it shows. Highly reccomend their office !
