Dr. Nancy is a native of Hampton Roads, Virginia. She is a graduate of Hampton Roads Academy, the University of Richmond, and the Medical College of Virginia Dental School. Dr. Nancy started practicing dentistry upon her graduation in 1994. She continues to participate in educational courses in order to ensure her awareness of the latest technology and procedures in dentistry. The office is proud to offer the latest laser technology with the Waterlase device. Lasers in dentistry offer convenient scheduling of complex procedures, quicker healing time, and no-anesthesia needed operative techniques. Her goal is to provide each patient with optimal professional care and to dedicate herself to the community. Dr. Nancy's practice approach involves the delivery of information to the patient in the form of digital pictures, treatment alternatives, and allowing the patient to dictate the scheduled pace of their individual dental needs.
Dr. Nancy is the mother of two boys and enjoys participating in their school and sporting events. She also enjoys swimming, reading, traveling, yoga, and attending church. In addition, she supports the Hospice House of Williamsburg. She would like to thank her established patients for their loyal patronage over the years!
Amy is a native of West Point, Virginia and currently lives in New Kent. She has been in the dental field since 1995, and has experience in chairside dental assisting, OSHA regulated sterilization, HIPAA compliance, and she is x-ray and CPR certified. Amy also has experience processing insurance claims, and accounts payable and receivable. Her gentle and outgoing personality makes patients feel comfortable with dental procedures and when discussing financial options. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her three very active and loving sons, Zach, Austin and Grayson. Her dedication and compassion to her family is carried over to her career in dentistry and loyalty to our practice.
I lived in Richmond, Virginia before moving to Williamsburg nine years ago. I attended West Virginia University where I graduated in 2018 with a bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene. I have a passion for educating patients of all ages about the preventive side of dentistry and the importance that oral health has in association with the rest of the body and mind. I particularly enjoy the challenge of helping ease the anxiety many patients bring to the chair. I like for my patients to feel that a visit to the dentist can be a positive experience. Outside of the office, I enjoy going to the beach, traveling, running, spending time with family, and cheering on the WVU Mountaineers!

I've been a patient of Dr. Schumann's practice for 4 years. Absolutely love the staff. Never had an issue with this practice. Always recommend her practice to everyone I know.

My family switched to Dr.Schumann from another dental office in Williamsburg with which we were no longer pleased. We couldn't be happier. Her staff is always polite and friendly. She runs a tight ship, is professional and is always on time. In fact, on several occasions, the office has texted me to come in early because they were ahead of schedule. She recently did some cosmetic work on my teeth and I am very please. They feel and look great. Additionally, her passion for her profession comes through with the education she provides to her patients. I highly recommend her!

When I had my cleaning at Dr. Nancy Schumann's office, the staff was so nice! Both my hygienist and Dr. Schumann went through all of my questions and answered them thoroughly. I felt very comfortable there and will definitely be making this my permanent dental office !

Dr. Schumann is fantastic. She's the first dentist I've had that has actually explained the science behind what's going on with my teeth and gums and outlined the details of the necessary procedures. She's incredibly thorough and makes sure nothing is left undone.

Doctor Schuman has provided outstanding dental care to our family for over 15 years ! In addition to our semi-annual checkups and cleanings, I am 60 years old and Dr. Schuman's work with my two crowns and an implant were painless and very precisely done. Her staff is very caring also ! Thank You !

I have always had such bad anxiety before going to the dentist until I came to Dr. Nancy. She is so calming and very gentle. Her dentistry is state of the art. She is very knowledgeable and up on the lastest treatments. Every time I go in Dr. Nancy is always so friendly to me. She explains everything she's doing or needs to do. She's always willing to answer my questions and is always asking if I am doing ok, while work is being done. I was so impressed how she even called me after I had a filling done, just to see how I was doing. I also need to compliment her staff. Sure friendly people. My anxiety is gone now before seeing her. I will NEVER go to any other dentist. Dr. Nancy is the BEST!!! I highly recommend her.

Having relocated to Williamsburg 6 months ago I was nervous having to find a new dentist. I feel I was very fortunate to have found Dr. Schumann. Her office staff was kind and helpful from my first phone call. The dental hygienist did such a great cleaning I scheduled appointments for my 3 children and husband before I left the office. Unfortunately I needed a tooth fixed but instead of rushing into a very expensive fix Dr. Schumann provided me with all the possible options. Having the procedure done today I could not be happier with my decision. I would highly recommend her dental practice.

We been going there since 2017 and we're not going there anymore!!! Rachel the hygiene tech was wonderful, but the new lady is something else... Be aware, Dr. Schuman is all about UPSALE and doing unnecessary procedures! She also has no bedside manners and doesn't let you know what SHE is planning or including the patient in the decision making. Just because we have dental insurance, which covers 70% of the cost, doesn't mean we want expensiv and mostly unnecessary work done every time we go there. UPDATE....went and seen a different dentist for a second opinion. Everything is fine, no tooth decay or root canals necessary. Also no need to pull out perfectly fine ceramic crowns. If you want honest dental care, please stay away from this office!

Having done our due diligence nearly 20 years ago, my wife and I chose Dr. Nancy for our dental work. Good decision. First in her class for dental practice, in a new facility with state of the art equipment, and with cordial, caring and competent staff, my experience comes close to being spoiled by the attention and care. My wife, just short of terrified of any and all dentists still knows she is getting good care. And if a referral is required, Dr. Nancy has sent us to well-established, highly-rated specialists. What's not to like?
