Dr. Rabalais is an experienced dental practitioner. In 1966 he graduated from Northeast Louisiana State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loyola University in 1970.Dr. Rabalais then served two years in the U.S. Army as a dental officer. While in the military he completed a mini-residency in periodontics which began his interest in that specialty. Following military service he practiced general dentistry for six years. In 1978 he entered the LSU School of Dentistry for post-graduate studies in Periodontics. He received his Certificate in Periodontics in 1980.For his research while a graduate student he was presented an award for Research Excellence by the American Association for Dental Research. Dr. Rabalais frequently attends continuing education courses to remain informed of the newest methods and techniques of periodontal treatment.He is an active member of both the American Academy of Periodontology and the American Dental Association. He is also a member of The Bayou District Dental Association.
Dr. Rabalais opened his periodontal practice in the Houma-Thibodaux area in 1980. In 1992 he opened a satellite office in New Iberia. Over 85 general dentists and dental specialists from eight parishes in South Louisiana express confidence in us by referring their patients to our offices for periodontal care. In addition, many of our patients are self-referred, since one does not need a referral from a dentist or physician to be examined in our office.
New Iberia Office: In 1992 Dr. Rabalais opened a second office in New Iberia. This office is opened on Fridays and is staffed by personnel that work in surrounding New Iberia dental offices other days of the week. The New Iberia team consists of two front staff, two dental hygienists and three dental assistants that work on a rotating schedule.

Dr. Rabalais and his professional staff are always thorough and considerate. Because of their devoted attention to my gum disease, my visits are now primarily for maintenance purposes. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs periodontal treatment.

When I first got diagnosed with gum disease, I prepared myself for a nightmare from the horror stories I've heard from other people! After walking into the doors of Dr. Rabalais they were just at the wrong place! He and his staff are second to none at their practice. The first thing I experienced was the warm positive energy from he and his staff. Dr. Rabalais not only educates you on your situation, but also has the skills and technology for painless and professional treatment of your diagnoses. His assistants are top notch being very courteous of your well being and doing a stupendous job at cleaning your teeth. The ladies in the front take care of everything! We all know dealing with insurance companies aren't fun, these ladies do it with a smile and get you on your way worry free. If your in the need for periodontal work don't hesitate you'll be happy you went with them!

The people are friendly and the service is fantastic. Dr. Rabalais had to perform transplants of gum tissue for me 22 years ago, and his dental hygienist, Donna Dumas, has been removing the calculus created by my peridontal disease every 3-4 months since my initial surgery. They have saved my teeth and gums, and I am forever grateful for their professionalism and expertise.

I have used Dr. Rabalais for over 35 years. His expertise in gum care is second to none. His staff are total professionals that help you feel at ease throughout your entire visit. His dental hygienist is the tops! And, if you are really nervous about being there, just have Dr. Murray share a few of his many stories. You get a professional that's on top of his game, PLUS a comedy show, all for one price. Seriously, folks, he's the real deal. There IS NO better.

I've been going to Dr. Rabalais for almost 20 years. I began when I had some dental issues that needed his expertise and treatment. I go every 6 months for a check-up so he and his staff can monitor my dental needs. When I have needed any specialized dental treatments, he has either performed them or suggested a different specialized treatment. Dr. Rabalais and his staff always make me feel welcome and comfortable - they're awesome!
