Dr. Williamson is a board certified periodontist and has received specialized training in dental implant therapy, cosmetic periodontal surgery, the management of gum disease and other oral diseases as well as anesthesia. Although Dr. Williamson has over 20 years of experience, he still considers himself a student of dentistry. As part of his effort to be up on the latest information available in dentistry, Dr. Williamson runs Impact Austin, a local study club committed to the advancement of dental education in the Austin area. He is passionate about wanting to help people meet their needs and desires regarding their oral health, function and aesthetics.
Dr. Williamson is supported by an excellent staff whose sole purpose is to make the patient experience in our office the best possible. Our administrative staff is committed to making sure that all of our patients administrative needs are taken care of in a timely fashion and to make scheduling and financial arrangements as easy as possible. Our treatment staff is committed to making sure that patients understand exactly what treatment has been recommended for them and what to expect the day of treatment as well as the days following treatment. The staff is available for any kind of help the patients might need. Our staff truly desires for our patients to feel well cared for and a part of our dental family.
Dr. Mike Williamson is a native Texan, born in San Angelo and raised in Arlington. He attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock and graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Zoology. Dr. Williamson then attended Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas where he graduated 3rd in his class, receiving numerous awards. Upon graduation from dental school, he pursued the graduate program at Baylor College of Dentistry and received his Certificate in Periodontics. Dr. Williamson also received a Masters Degree in Oral Biology from Baylor University during his graduate studies. While in graduate school, he received the Balint Orban Award, the highest level of certification in the field of periodontics.
After his residency, Dr. Williamson moved to Austin where he began practicing in 1993. Since that time, he has made an effort to advance the quality of dental care in Austin. Dr. Williamson frequently gives lectures to local groups on a wide range of topics including dental implants, gum grafting, cosmetic periodontal surgery, and bone regeneration. He is also the founder and program director of Impact Austin, a local dental study club whose purpose is to positively impact the quality of dental care provided in Austin by hosting the highest quality international speakers in the field of dentistry to speak to local dentists. Impact Austin is not only about education, but also participates regularly in local community service projects. In addition to serving the Austin community, Dr. Williamson serves internationally as well. He has been on multiple mission trips to Mexico, Guatemala, and Nicaragua where he has been able to utilize his skills to help the neediest of people.
Dr. Williamson is committed to his faith, his wife, and his four children. He attends church regularly, is involved in bible studies, enjoys running & working out, and spending time at the lake; most of all, he loves quality time with his family.
Diane graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and has worked in the dental field for over 20 years. She loves the variety her three positions offer and the relationships she has built with both patients and referring offices. Working with a group of highly trained, experienced professionals makes every day satisfying, and attending continuing education courses keeps her excited about her role as study club coordinator. Diane is married and has one daughter. She enjoys arts and crafts, especially scrapbooking, and loves her two cats, Klingon and Trouble.
Sarah has worked in the dental field since she was fourteen years old and finds caring for people to be the most satisfying aspect of her job. She loves the small office atmosphere and believes that the team is able to offer more personal care because of it. In her time off, Sarah enjoys spending time with her son and their dog, practicing Bikram yoga and Capoeira, traveling, volunteering, listening to music and spending time with family and friends.
