Im delighted to be given the opportunity to change a patients smile and life as soon as they walk through the doors of our practice. This is why Im so passionate about being a dentist; interacting with our patients, helping them to achieve the best and brightest smile possible, and creating life-long friendships along the way. Ive been practicing dentistry for the past 18 years and love that I get to treat so many diverse and unique people from all ages and backgrounds; everyone has a story to tell!
I was born in Sheffield, AL, just a short five miles from where my practice is today in Florence. I originally went into the electrical engineering field after receiving my BS degree from the University of Alabama in 1988. But my life and oral health had been changed dramatically for the better by a dentist when I was 17 years old, so I was inspired to go back to school in 1997 and earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. I opened my practice the same year and Im so happy to be a part of the fun-loving team we have cultivated; we always go above and beyond.
Continuing education plays a big part in keeping me on my toes with the newest dental equipment and techniques. I complete over 20 hours of continuing education every year, attending seminars, hands-on courses, dental meetings, and online courses.
When not at the practice, I enjoy being with my wife Renae in our beautiful home in Muscle Shoals. Matthew, Kaley, and Cory are our three grown children, and I have one stepson named Walker. Above all else, I love spending time with my family and friends. Ive also been active in the Army National Guard since 1985. I currently serve as a state dental officer in the medical detachment of Alabama. I hold the rank of Colonel and have served in three tours in Iraq in support of OIF/OEF.
I love being a dentist. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people, and the friendships that Ive built with my patients and their families are one in a million. It has always been my focus to make each patient feel at home when they come to me for treatment and I work hard to give my patients the attention they deserve.
By regularly participating in continuing education, I am aware of the latest technology and dental treatments. My patients deserve the best, and continuing education allows me to provide my patients with more options and better results. I am a member of several professional associations that provide me with opportunities for continuing education, including the:
