Dr. Dagostino was born and raised in Parma Heights, Ohio. He attended Valley Forge High School where he lettered in wrestling, and was a member of the State Championship team of 1972. He graduated in 1974, and began undergraduate at The Ohio State University in 1975, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology in 1979. He worked at the Ohio State University Hospital in cancer research under the tutelage of Dr. James Neidhart. This research period reinforced his decision to attend Dental school.
Attending The Ohio State University College of Dentistry from 1980-1984, Dr. Dagostino found an intense interest in Orthodontics, TMJ treatment and surgery. Upon graduation, he relocated back to Cleveland, Ohio, and began his post graduate education.
Since graduation in 1984, Dr. Dagostino has taken over 2500 hours of continuing education. He is a proud member of the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, the Cleveland Dental Society, the Alabama Implant Study Group, the Southwest Study Club, the International Association for Orthodontics, and the Academy of General Dentists.
Our office is located in the Ridge Day Plaza, near Sav a Lot Store at the end of the plaza, and we are across the street from a Target. In designing the new office Dr. Dagostino made a commitment to make it as patient friendly as possible .
Our new waiting room is large with comfortable chairs, the operatories are large with amenities such as T.Vs and VCRs and Computer Digital Radiography. The CDR allows us to take x-rays with 1/10th the radiation of normal x-rays and to view them within 8 seconds on a computer monitor. The new full head x-ray machine (panorex) takes incredibly detailed radiographs with one-tenth (1/10th) the radiation of a traditional panorex machine. This state of the art machine allows us to visualize the x-ray as the machine is taking it. This machine also takes detailed radiographs of the jaw joint that previously required CAT scans or MRIs. This allows us to serve you best with an immediate diagnosis with minimal radiation.
We also have a new laser cavity detection device, which allows us to find cavities when they are not even visible on x-rays. We have also acquired an air abrasion unit, which eliminates the need for drills in removing decay from certain teeth. Additionally we have a state of the art sterilization area and a separate lab room to prevent cross contamination. The bathrooms are large and squeaky clean. We have added a laundry room to wash and dry our garments and towels in house . We also have over 600 square feet of storage, which allows us to keep all pertinent patient records in house under my supervision.
We have also required an AED, which is an Automated External Defibrillator, which has been shown to be invaluable in saving lives. Because we do a lot of sedation dentistry, we also have (2) pulseoximeters which help us do our procedures with a high level of safety.
We are certain you will appreciate the 1st floor access with close up parking. As we have endeavored to make the new office as comfortable as possible for our patients, we are always open to suggestion to improve.
We are proud to announce a new addition to our office equipment. In June, 2006 our office had a 3 dimensional CAT scan machine installed. This state of the art x-ray machine has the ability to provide concise detailed radiographs of the entire head. These digitally enhanced radiographs allow the clinician to take 3 dimensional slices of any part of the head. Because it is a computer enhanced digital image, the radiation dose for these CAT scan images is similar to traditional panoramic images (full head x-ray).
Our office is one of the first in the state of Ohio to offer this technology, allowing us to provide the most concise detail oriented care. These images are useful in the surgical placement of implants, the visualization of the TMJ, the visualization of abscesses or tumors, along with countless other orthodontic and orthognathic procedures.
As patients increasingly ask for more sophisticated and immediate procedures, our advanced in-office imaging systems provides very accurate information for expanding general dentistry, oral and orthognathic surgery, implantology, TMJ analysis, spinal studies, airway assessment, periodontal, orthodontic, impaction and many other dental procedures.
Basically, digital radiographs are generated by placing a tethered sensor into the patients mouth. Connected to a computer, the sensor reads the radiation and generates a readable image with a significantly less radiation dose. Extra-oral radiographs (panorex, cephalometric, and tomographs ) are also generated in a similar fashion, except the sensors are outside the mouth.

I think some of the staff here do not have good customer service, some of the staff is rude & feel that they can be. This office has cancelled my appointments 3x literally before I'm in route. Said they didn't know the schedule of one of the staff members so they couldn't reschedule me. Didn't show any empathy nor apologized for the inconvenience. And never even called me back to reschedule. I waited a whole month before someone rescheduled my appointment & that was because I contacted them. I was told by someone that some of the staff here was rude but I believed that the physician does great work so I wanted to see for myself. One morning hours before my son's appointment I learned that a child he was playing with day before had a contagious respiratory infection & that the child was in quarantine. I immediately contacted the office because I didn't want to expose them just in case my son would be next. Most offices would appreciate the level of concern & grateful that you chose to keep the child home. However, this office was upset the appointment was cancelled, showed no empathy for the patient or offer to reschedule. The secretary never knows anyone's schedule so it's hard to get an emergency appointment but this is supposed to be a professional setting. Really disappointed that the person that warned me was right. Be careful not to cancel on them because they may not want you as a patient anymore regardless of your level of patience with them. I think the physician should consider retraining his staff. This was disappointing to my family.

An amazing dentist!, I had an abscess tooth and they got me in within a day and performed the extraction perfectly. Everywhere else I tried before coming here just wanted to X-ray me, give me referrals for expensive oral surgery that had weeks wait time and send me on my way. If you want a real dentist who knows what they are doing and can help you come here! You won't regret it

I have been going to Dr. Dagastino most of my live he is the only Dentist I will let touch my teeth. I drive 759 mile one way every 6 months or so just to see him to take care of my dental work. He is the BEST! Thank you Bob

Highly recommend Dr. Michael Dagostino, he is very knowledgeable and great at what he does. He replaced some old fillings that felt jagged and were out-dated, I now have smooth beautiful white fillings. I also was nervous about some bone that started protruding in my jaw, he took one look at it and told me it was because of clenching. I live in SC and had asked a local dentist what was the cause and he had no medical explanation. Turns out it was a really stressful year for me and I was infact clenching in my sleep, after that stress passed my clenching went away and the bone has receded. I fly to OH any time I need work done cause he is the only dentist I trust.

Dr. Dagostino is always pleasant and courteous. The people who work here are the kindest and friendliest people I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with in any professional setting. They've even gone so far as to call and check on my daughter after having her wisdom teeth surgery; that just speaks to how truly kind and compassionate they are. Dentist wimps, this is the place you want to be. Dr. Dagostino truly understands and works through the anxiety that this experience can bring. Highly recommend this office.

Dr Dagostino is hands down the best experience as a parent getting our kids braces done!!! He worked with our insurance company and our budget to make it work. He went above and beyond to make sure our son experienced the best the dental world has to offer!!! We will definitely be bringing our youngest back to do his braces in a couple years. A few years ago, I was given an estimate of $6600 for TMJ treatment. Didn't have the money at the time, but came in for a cleaning more recently and said I'm close to being financially ready to begin the treatment so I need a new estimate. Hygienist does cleaning with no nitrous despite requesting it both at time of booking and that day. She says the room doesn't have it. I ended up sobbing thru the cleaning as it causes me a lot of pain to open my mouth. She disregards the TMJ and asks me (while her tools are in my mouth, and I can't answer her) if bad things happened to me before and is this why I get so nervous? Like she wanted more explanation than the fountain of tears. At the end, I ask to discuss this issue with the dentist along with the TMJ estimate, and he was not there. Receptionist rudely states that some services can be done with no dentist present, and said I had to pay extra for exams where the dentist will look at my teeth. I thought this was included, but ok. I schedule my next cleaning planning to discuss it this time. I was unhappy, but return to this dentist because of the TMJ treatment I was hoping to receive and want to give them another chance. Hygienist gives nitrous this time, but she had an issue with it and it wasn't working on me, but she tries to get started. I said I wasn't ready, and usually it takes it a while and she says "you need to communicate all of this better." I said "I'm here to talk about my TMJ, and cried last time, but also you're the professional who should know it takes a short time to start working. At least a few minutes or something." She lets it work and starts again. After this, the dentist tells a different hygienist in front of me that it should've been started at 5 liters, and to tell the other hygienist that's how it works, and that's what the issue was. Dentist barely says hello, and after throwing his own hygienist under the bus, he does a very quick exam and turns his back to walk out. Hygienist dismisses me and before he can leave the room, I said "wait I specifically booked a new consultation for today because I'm finally ready to move forward". He goes "Ugggggh.. I don't have time for that today! That is something you'd have to schedule for in advance." I said "yeah I did that specifically. This appt was made a month ago." He just gave me a cocky shrug and turned the corner to the next patient. I walked out. I asked the receptionist how it happened that they didn't know about the consultation, she said I was disrespectful to the dentist (for telling him I made my appt a month ago and that I was upset last time too). She said that I am dismissed from the practice permanently. Excuse me, but I felt disrespected that your hygienist didn't know how to use your equipment two visits in a row, AND that the dentist had a complete disregard for the condition I was there to consult for!! Treatment is probably $9-10k these days, but I guess they didn't value my business. I was ready to get started, but it will not be with this dentist and his rude staff since I was apparently disrespectful for wanting to discuss getting started. Nevermind this dentist office.

This is by far the best dental office and the only one I would ever recommend. From the staff to the services provided by Dr Dagostino the place is top notch. I moved out of the area and still drive hours to go there when I need dental work. Absolutely outstanding!

I don't think I could sing enough praises for Dr Dagostino and his staff. Everyone there is wonderful and nice to be around (which is great when you go every couple weeks for braces). Dr Dagostino is extremely competent and, quite frankly, singular in his treatment of the functional aspects of dentistry not only for our area but for much of the country. He was able to expand my palate and widen my smile substantially- in my thirties. He is concerned with saving healthy teeth, jaw functionality, and overall facial aesthetics. He even helped me with a problematic wisdom tooth infection while pregnant and it couldn't have been a better experience. I would only ever put my faith in him concerning my or my children's dentistry and orthodontia. I'm very serious when I say that my husband has instructions that if I should die, he is still to drive the kids an hour away to see Dr Dagostino for their teeth. Truly, if you think something improbable in adulthood with fixing your smile and or TMJ, go to Dr Dagostino and you may discover you have more options than you think after going elsewhere.
