Just had a consultation with Dr. Orrantia for a root canal. Could not disagree more with the negative comments. Found him to have an absolutely terrific bedside manner, very thorough and considerate. So far, one of the best experiences I have ever had in a dental-related situation.

I don't get the negative reviews. Dr. Orrantia had a great bedside manner, explained everything he was doing and there was no pain during the procedure. I'd recommend him to my friends. And the staff, there again, I don't get the negative reviews. Everyone was very friendly and professional. P. S. This is my third root canal from 3 different doctors, so I have a little experience.

This guy is a unpleasant jerk. I went to this office and the way this individual treated me was utterly appalling. I don't know what business this guy thinks he is in, but he shouldn't be in one that involves other human beings. They make you pay up front and if you have ANY questions or difference or concerns about your treatment, not only will the dentist treating you get nasty and ridiculously defensive, the whole office will turn on you. I got told I needed TWO root canals instead of the one I went in for and when I had questions, they turned on me like attack dogs. What is wrong with these people? This office is could also use some updating and a deep cleaning. Very trashy and low class. It is unsettling when patient a moaning and crying out in pain. If you have any sort of fear or anxiety about seeing the dentist, a visit to this office will expand that fear exponentially. Two office rules were very clear: 1. Pay us upfront and 2. Don't ask any questions about anything. This office's attitude is that you are "just" the patient and they are the important people. Worst dentist I've ever encountered, and I've encountered some really bad ones.

If I could give this doctor less than one star, I absolutely would. I work in the medical profession and have never seen a provider act in such a negative manner toward a patient before. He was so blatantly rude that I asked him to stop interrupting me so that I could explain my unique situation. Even then, he did continue to be rude and interrupt, then he doubted the negative things I had experienced in dentistry, simply because he had never experienced them before. My referring dentist had sent over my referral, but he kept making a point as to the fact that I did not have the physical referral - despite being told I did not need to bring it. I felt so severely uncomfortable I called my referring doctor and let them know of Dr Orrantia's severely concerning behavior toward me. He seems to have no real understanding of how to make a patient feel at ease even during a consultation. I would not send my worst enemy to him. Consider yourself warned.

I came to the conclusion that Dr Michael Orrantia is more of a mechanic than a Doctor. Every time he had done a root canal on a specific tooth, in less done one month the one next to it would require one as well. Maybe a coincidence??!! Don't think so any longer, I went to see him last week and he closed up on tooth number 20 saying it needed a root canal done when 4 hours later I started experiencing a sharper pain worse than the discomfort I initially had before seeing him. Saw him this morning assuming that the pain can only be coming from same tooth but he is only interested on getting started with the other one (number 21next to it) and can't explain why I had no issues with that tooth till right after he worked on my tooth # 20, even started getting defensive suspecting that I am accusing him of cheating. Well I am now and so sure that every time he sees a patient, he makes sure they will keep going back to his office in one way or another till he wipes them clean. Please be aware and don't be fooled by the high tech materials in the office.
