Almost all silver dental restorations contain about 50% of mercury and some research suggests that these restorations may emit mercury-vapors.Over the years there has been a great concern for exposure of dental professionals, staff and patients to the mercury vapors released during the removal of these restorations.Some research further suggests that mercury vapor can be released from dental mercury amalgam fillings during brushing, teeth grinding, and even chewing. Furthermore, removal of mercury fillings can expose the patient and the dental professionals to the mercury vapors released.For those patients who may be concerned about being exposed to mercury vapors, Dr. Mazaheri has implemented a safe amalgam removal protocol* in his Gilbert dental office that greatly decreases the exposure to the mercury vapors released during removal. Dr. Mazaheri is a dentist in Gilbert and is a graduate of the Ohio State University, home of the Buckeyes! After graduating from high school in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Mazaheri attended Ohio State University, where he received his bachelors in Zoology with interests in marine biology and electron microscopy researching Cystic Fibrosis. With a strong passion for dentistry, he was accepted to the Ohio State College of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, making him a 3rd generation dentist along with his sister and other family members in dentistry, and medical surgery fields.
After practicing dentistry in Ohio for several years, Dr. Mazaheri moved to Arizona to be closer to his family and incorporated Exceptional Dentistry in 2006, followed by his second location in Scottsdale. Dr. Mazaheri has strong interests in Aquariums, and Marine life and enjoys web design (including all designs of this site), and building furniture and woodworking. Dr. Mazaheri also enjoys composing and arranging music on the keyboards, piano and electronic music production, and in the past, he has played music and keyboards professionally with several music bands.
With more than 18 years of practicing dentistry, Dr. Mazaheri is always in pursuit of applying the latest techniques and technology to his dentistry and has been certified with Invisalign since 2003 (among first few groups of certified Invisalign providers), and is also certified in 6 month smiles rapid braces system as a Recognized provider & is a CEREC same-day crown provider. Dr. Mazaheri also utilizes 3-D printed surgical guide technology into his dental implant surgery protocol for more precise implant positioning and outcome.
