Naturally, you want to know your dentist is well-trained and experienced. Dr. Scherb is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Dentistry with a special award presented to him in restorative dentistry. He has practiced dentistry in the Jupiter area since 1989. He is a certified member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and former president of the North Palm Beach County Dental Association.
He has completed all the continuums at The Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education and is currently one of the teaching faculty. Dr. Scherb was granted Pankey Scholar status in 2002, an honor which has been conferred to less than 50 doctors in the world. Other studies include The Concept of Complete Dentistry seminars with Dr. Peter Dawson, Predictable Dentistry seminars with Dr. Bill Strupp, Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education with Dr. Frank Spear, and numerous other courses with the worlds top clinicians. He is also a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Scherb has been a resident of Palm Beach County all his life He is married to his lovely wife Dawn and has three children-Clinton, a Sheriff for Palm Beach County and United States Marine, Jade, and Summer. He would like to thank all of them for their inspiration.
Fatima Brecht, CDA, is our dental assistant coordinator. Fatima began her dental career in 1986 as a dental lab technician. Her post-graduate training is extensive, including Palm Beach Community College. She has over sixteen years experience and has been with our office since October 1994. Fatima, with her calming disposition, has the ability to make patients feel confident and comfortable with their dental experience. Kathy L. Jeffries began her dental career in May 1998 here in our office after successful careers in nutrition, music, and the literary side of writing. She felt she needed a new challenge. A chance mutual acquaintance would be the first step in a pilot program created by Dr. Scherb for the in-office lab. From that point on, the program has become more than Dr. Scherb or Mrs. Jeffries had envisioned and continues to grow on a daily basis. Kathys official title is Dental Lab Coordinator and she also manages all the clinical supplies, retail supplies, and maintenance issues in the office, as well as develops assorted pilot programs for the office.
Carrie Persad has lived in Palm Beach County for over 25 years. She started her dental career in 1996 as a dental receptionist. Later she continued her education and went on to chair side assisting. Her passion for dentistry lead her to earning her degree as a dental hygienist in 2004.
Carrie practiced hygiene with a well-known periodontist in the area for 5 years. Deciding she needed a change she joined our practice at the start of 2010. We are excited to have her as a member of our team as she is extremely dedicated to the field of dentistry. She is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association, Dental Hygiene Society and has also taught dental assisting at the community college. Carries calming demeanor will make you feel comfortable from the start of your visit as she will assuredly help you maintain a healthy smile.
Gina Michaels joined us in 2018 and we couldnt be more pleased to have her with us. She recently relocated to Florida from Connecticut. We were fortunate enough to have Gina referred to us through one of our patients. She is a Dental Hygienist with over 25 years experience in the dental field. She received both her Associate of Science and Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of New Haven. She also holds a permit to administer local anesthesia.
