We have worked with children for many years and are dedicated to their comfort and quality of care.
Dr. Mike MacKay grew up in Los Angeles and New Orleans and enjoys the easy going living in Melbourne, FL. After studying Philosophy at Boston College, Dr. MacKay attended Tufts Dental School in Boston at the New England Medical Center. Following many years of studying in the cold weather he completed his residency in Pediatric Dentistry at University of Tennessee in Memphis based out of the UT Lebonheurs Hospital and St. Judes Cancer Center. Dr. MacKay moved to Melbourne and has been in private practice since 2000.
When he is not at the office, Dr. MacKay spends time with his wonderful wife Jan and their three daughters. He enjoys working on old cars and Red Sox baseball. Dr. MacKay truly strives to make each dental visit a non-threatening pleasant experience- for both the child and the parents. He prides himself on demystifying dentistry and explaining things in a language that puts everyone at ease.

I've never had a problem with the service provided, and of course my kids love the arcade. My problem is that our insurance has changed since last year, and my husband showed them our new insurance cards before my kids' appointments. They waited until AFTER the appointments were done to tell him they didn't take the insurance, that we'd be "hard pressed to find a good dentist who would", and stuck us with a $500 bill. Yes, in hindsight I should have checked this myself, but I scheduled the appointment in a rush during work after my kid had a mouth issue and I didn't think of it. I have never been to a health care provider that doesn't verify insurance before an appointment! But given the "hard pressed comment", she knew very well they didnt accept it. Absurd and unprofessional.

Blown away. Wow. Today was the first ever Dentist appointment for both my 3 and 5 year olds and I could not be more happy with this office. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. The Dental Hygienists were so great with both kids. They make sure to explain the whole process and all the tools to the child so that the child knows what's going on. This office was recommended to us by our Pediatrician. I am one happy parent. Also, it doesn't hurt they keep the kids engaged with a full blown arcade and aquarium in the waiting room and iPads in the dentist chair. We're not a big tech family so these were a fun treat for the kids during their visit. 100% recommend.

My 6 year old son goes to Dr. Michael Mackay's office. Hands down, one of the best pediatric dentist in town. I honestly wish I had a dentist like Mackay when I was growing up. Maybe I wouldn't be as nervous to this day going to the dentist. Each visit the staff has been great and Dr. Mackay has always be very professional, courteous, and has answered all of our question thoroughly. My son had to get a cavity filled, Dr. Mackay told us not to mention anything to him about getting a shot. When the day came for my son to get his cavity filled, Mackay used some kind of magic. While giving my son a shot to numb his mouth, he was talking to my son to distract him and not once did my son flinch or cry. You couldn't tell he gave my son a shot. My son actually loves going to the dentist because everyone there is amazing, they have an arcade in the outside waiting room, they offer the kids tablets to play on while they wait in the rooms, and they have a treasure cabinet for after treatments.

After a recommendation by my boss, who's two children see Dr. Mackay, I began taking my 4 year old daughter there. The experience from scheduling to seeing the Dr. was amazing. They were very gentle with her and said the would do as much as she would allow. From start to finish, my daughter had no issues and passed her exam with flying colors. On her second visit back for a cleaning, she was able to get x-rays done super quickly. They are truly wonderful with children. My daughter looks forward to going to see Dr. Mackay.

We have been taking our 3 kids (aged 1 to 7 years) to Dr. Mackay for years, and he and his staff have been exceptionally helpful and kind. They do a great job of making going to the dentist a positive experience for the whole family. We recently moved to Titusville and gladly drive over half an hour to visit Dr. Mackay. The hygienists are friendly and gentle, and my kids enjoy going to the dentist.

Many years back my daughter was born with 2 of her teeth! I was told I needed to bring my 3 day old baby to a dentist for X-ray's. Because either the teeth had roots and would serve as her baby teeth, or they were non rooted neonatal teeth and would need to be removed. (due to fear of them coming out and her choking) I was so nervous about bringing my very new baby to a dentist! Trusting the doctor would be right was a whole nother thing. Thank God I found Dr. McKAy he was very new to our area and we're fortunate to have him here too! Doctor MacKay and his staff were absolutely wonderful and made the whole experience as easy as I could ever imagine! I'm so happy to see them doing so well and still around so many years later. I'm not surprised though they are so wonderful over there!

My son and I love Dr. McKay and his staff. It's always a great experience and my son is eager to go. They have old (free) arcade games to play while you wait, a lobster tank, and train tracks for the wee ones. While waiting for Dr. McKay to come "count teeth"bafter they're cleaning the kids can play an iPad for a few minutes. At the end of the visit kids pick a treasure from the treasure box. The receptionist is on the ball, check in and check out are fast. The only hard part is leaving.

I took my 14 month old daughter there. The front desk staff was amazing. The office is great for children and adults of all ages. The longest time I spent in that office was filling out the initial paperwork. The staff in the back took great care of my daughter. I was able to go back there with her and they accommodated both my needs and my child's needs. The office was clean.
