Dr Huguet is a speaker, key opinion leader, and board member for the Academy of Clear Aligners. He is one of only 23 in the world to recently earn his fellowship in the American Academy of Clear Aligners. Dr. Huguet also leads an advanced Invisalign study club in the Bay Area.

Some of the friendliest folks you'll ever meet, our doctors are the best of the best. With thousands of hours of post dental school education between them, our doctors are trained and practiced in a variety of dental medicine and are ready to help.

Dr. Michael Huguet, a native of the Pleasant Hill area, has been practicing dentistry since 1991. He graduated with honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and went on to receive his dental training from the University of California, San Francisco. In addition, Dr. Huguet received advanced dental training at the Veteran Administration Hospitals in Martinez and Sacramento, California. He is also a local member of the Diablo Study Club, a club dedicated to advancing the knowledge of implants, and quality comprehensive patient care.

Dr. Huguet resides in Lafayette with his wife Kristn and their three children, Makenzie, Matthew and Lindsey. During his free time, he enjoys traveling with his family, skiing, lacrosse, and fly fishing.

Dr. Nima Afsari, a lifelong Bay Area native, received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California, Davis, and later earned his doctorate degree from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. His philosophy is that a tooth is not just a tooth. A tooth belongs to a person, a person belongs to a family, and a family belongs to a community. The comfort and overall wellness of his patients are his top priority. Dr. Nima is dedicated to establish meaningful connections with each of his patients in order to provide the highest level of care they deserve.

Dr. Philip Vassilopoulos received his first dental degree from the University of Athens in Greece and completed his Certificate in Periodontology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Vassilopoulos is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Fellow of the American and International College of Dentists. He joined the UAB faculty and served throughout his time there as a Clinic Director, Predoctoral Director, and Postgraduate Director within the ranks of clinical instructor, clinical assistant professor, and clinical associate professor. He also went back to school at UAB to receive a second degree in Dentistry. The additional knowledge and training he has acquired has enabled him to communicate better and provide closer collaboration with his restorative colleagues.

Dr. Vassilopoulos enjoys living in the East Bay area of California. His hobbies include following his favorite sports teams, listening to music, and traveling. Philip enjoys spending time with his family; he is married and has one daughter.

Marietta is our Financial Coordinator and joined our team in January of 2003. She will be the first smiling face that will greet you when you come into our office. She wants to make your visit as easy and effortless as possible. If you have any questions about your insurance, finances, or any aspect of your visit, Marietta will be right there to help. She enjoys working for an office were everyone, especially the patients are treated like family. When not in the office you will find Marietta outdoors walking, traveling to Tahoe, and spending time with her husband Tim, 2 sons Zach and Jason and spending as much time as she can with her 4 grandkids.

Ashely joined the team in September of 2019, she grew up in Pleasanton, CA. After completing a degree in Biology at Whittier College in Southern California she came back up to the Bay Area to pursue further education to become a Dental Hygienist and work as an Assistant to gain experience while still in school. Ashley loves the sense of community this office has amongst the staff and patients, as well as having the opportunity to help transform the way someone looks at their smile and improve their dental health. She is grateful to work for an office with such forward-thinking of a patient's overall health and how their oral hygiene affects it. In her free time, Ashley enjoys staying active at the gym, reading, going to concerts, following her favorite sports teams, and spending time with her family and friends.

Jamie is a Registered Dental Hygienist and joined Dr. Huguet and Associates in April of 2006. She graduated from San Joaquin Valley College in 2005. Jamie strives to help her patients maintain optimal oral health so they can enjoy a beautiful smile for years to come. Her dedication to her patients shines through as she seeks to understand and care for their individual needs. Away from the office, Jamie enjoys cooking, walking outdoors, going to concerts, going to the theater, and time spent with family and friends. She especially enjoys her time with her husband, David, son, Matthew, and daughter, Ellie.

Theresa is a Registered Dental Hygienist and joined our team in the fall of 2007, she graduated from the dental hygiene program at Diablo Valley College in the summer of 2007. Prior to joining Dr. Huguet and Associates, Theresa and her family were longtime patients of the practice. Patient comfort and care are her top priorities. She enjoys getting to know her patients and their families, by motivating and guiding them to optimal oral health through education and counseling. Outside of the office, Theresa loves to travel, she enjoys being outside, camping, hiking, sailing, and spending time with friends and family, her husband John, son Ryan, daughter Lauren and family dogs Abby and Ozzie.

Cathy is a Registered Dental Hygienist and joined our team in the fall of 2019. Catherine was born and raised in Michigan but has called Martinez, California, home since 1987. She became registered as a dental assistant in 1992 and graduated from California State University of Sacramento with a degree in Biology in 2001. She furthered her dental training at Cerritos College in 2003 and received an A.A. and became a Registered Dental Hygienist. Catherine has advanced education in ALD (Academy Laser Dentistry), from The Las Vegas Institute and Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy. She became a member of the Align Hygiene Faculty in 2015 and continues to train teams internationally on the benets of proper tooth alignment through speaking events, webinars, articles, and dental conferences.

Catherine married her soul mate in 2018 and feels very blessed to call Martinez home. She is still an avid U of M football fan and still loves all things Pure Michigan. When shes not working she enjoys hanging with her family and friends, hiking, gardening, wine tasting, and traveling.

Brianna is a Registered Dental Hygienist and joined Dr. Huguet and Associates in August of 2021. However, since childhood, shes been coming as a patient to what she calls her dream office. She went to Loma Linda University and graduated in 2018 with a major in Dental Hygiene and a minor in Music. It was after serving 2 years abroad as a missionary hygienist on a Northern Mariana Island called Saipan, that she fell in love with service, education, and providing holistic care to each and every patient. She wanted to carry everything she learned back with her to her hometown of Pleasant Hill. Each day, she hopes to build a genuine relationship with each patient and have them leave with the biggest smile on their face. When Briannas not working, she enjoys the outdoors with friendscamping, hiking and scuba diving. Music is also big in her Latin family, so many weekends are spent singing around the piano, playing instruments, and joining praise team at church. Any moments spent with her dad, Roberto, mom, Esther, and younger brother, Brandon are moments well treasured.

Mica is a Registered Dental Assistant and Joined Dr. Huguets office in November of 1999. Mica is Dr. Tottle's lead assistant and she also works chairside with all the other doctors in our office from time to time. Mica has great attention to detail, she loves getting to know our patients and strives to give them the best experience we can offer here at Dr. Huguet and Associates. She continues to keeps our office stocked weekly with all the materials and products we need. Mica grew up in Oklahoma and loves the similarly small-town feel of Martinez where she resides with her husband Jim and 3 daughters Michelle, Karissa, and Shauna. Also, their adorable Boston terrier family dog, Nala. When shes not in the office she enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking the reservoir, catching a good movie with delicious Martinez theater popcorn, and reading books.

Teresa is a Registered Dental Assistant and joined our office in 2017, she was born and raised in Orange County Ca. and moved up to northern California 24 years ago. She has been in the dental field for 30 years. I am excited to be on this team with Dr. Huguet and Associates. He has such a forward-thinking practice and at the same time such an amazing staff with great work ethics. During Teresas 25 years in Dentistry, she has experienced and learned so much. I love working with people and educating them on their dental health, and the possibilities of what their smile could look like. Teresa volunteers with her dog, Achilles. They both go to hospitals and visit the sick. Achilles does a great job in his role of dog therapy. When shes not working, Teresa and her husband both love to hike, do cross fit and spend time with family and friends. Teresa and her husband have 3 grown sons and 4 perfect grandchildren.

Anna is a Registered Dental Assistant with Extended Function and joined our office in 2021. She has 28 years of dental experience. Anna obtained her dental degree in the Philippines and practiced there for 10 years before moving to California. She completed the RDAEF program at the University of California, SF. Because of her credentials and years of experience, she joins our office to help and support all of our progressing and growing office departments. In her free time Anna loves to do outdoor activities and explore new places.

Jessica is a dental assistant and she joined our office in January 2022. Jessica is great at multitasking, communication and creating bonds with each of her patients. She supports all roles in our office and is always willing to help. Prior to entering the dental field, Jessica gained experience as a medical assistant for three years. In her free time she enjoys coaching the College Park girls golf team, she loves playing golf, spending time with family and friends, and spending time with her dog, Rocco.
