After growing up in South Florida, Dr. Michael Abufaris graduated from FTU (now UCF) with a B.S. degree in Mathematics and Science. He attended Emory University School of Dentistry for both his Doctorate of Dental Surgery and specialty training in Periodontology/Dental Implants.
With emphasis on grafting and regenerative procedures to replace problem tissue with healthy tissue, Dr. Abufaris blends the latest treatment ideas with extensive knowledge and years of professional experience. His chairside manner and attention to detail motivates him to provide ideal and realistic treatment for each and every patient.
He, his wife Patrice, and daughter Caroline, have been residents of Winter Park since 1983, where he also established his periodontal practice. Prior to this, Dr. Abufaris had a general dentistry practice in the Central Florida area. This provided a good basis to understand the important relationship between periodontal, implant and restorative dentistry.
When Dr. Abufaris is not in the office, you can find him at the beach, either surfing or reading a good book. He also enjoys all outdoor activities to include running, swimming, biking, snow skiing and golf.

Dr Abufaris started out to be my go to person. He then sold his practice to Dr Richardson, who's associate ruined my gums and did a terrible job on my implant. Do not go here. You will be sorry if you do!!!!!!

Dr. Abufaris was amazing! He fixed my gummy smile on Oct, 27, 2020. During the procedure, he was gentle and even called me afterwards to check how I was doing. I can't thank Dr. Abufaris enough. I feel much more confident and I can't stop smiling. Thank you!

7 implants, including a Mexican attempt on which Dr. A went the extra mile. Amazingly, no pain. Continuing concern, an entertaining staff, deep experience = a thoroughly satisfied patient. Look no farther. Really!

This doctor office is very professional and take very good care of you. The doctor called me back after the consultation to ensure I did what I needed to do for my health. He is really caring and amazing at what he does. The staff are friendly and very helpful and make you feel comfortable while you are there. I would recommend you give him a call to see if he can help you with your concerns.

I've had two implants done by Dr. Abufaris and it was seamless. He is very relaxed and does high quality work. All the staff are amazing as well. I wouldn't go anywhere else for Periodontic work.
