As soon as you walk through our doors, youll receive a warm welcome. We keep wait times to a minimum but if you get here early, unwind in our comfy reception area. Feel free to take advantage of our free WiFi or enjoy coffee, hot chocolate or a freshly baked cookie. When its your turn, a friendly, experienced team member will show you around our beautiful, state-of-the-art office.
Once youve completed your tour, well take diagnostic records, including low-dose digital x-rays and photos of your smile. These records are important for helping Dr. Melanie get a complete picture of your smile needs.
Dr. Melanie will complete a thorough oral exam to evaluate your bite. Her findings, combined with your diagnostic records, allow her to decide if you could benefit from treatment. If you can, shell use the information to create a personalized treatment plan.
Dr. Melanie will sit down with you and walk you through her diagnosis and the treatment options for you or your child. Shell answer any questions you have and take as much time as necessary to ensure you feel informed and confident about any decisions. Well also fill you in on everything you need to know, including the cost of braces or clear aligners, the length of your treatment and our flexible financing options.
The oldest of three daughters of a Poway dentist, she was a kid who never had a cavity. She did have three years of braces, and the day she got them off was the happiest day of her life! It was no surprise to anyone that she decided to become an orthodontist.
After graduating from University of California at San Diego with a degree in biology and minor in teaching, she got into her dream school, UCLA School of Dentistry, one of the nations most selective, top-tier dental schools. She showed her passion for helping others by working as an SAT-prep instructor and representing her class as the social chair. She was elected class president during her junior and senior years, and was selected to speak at graduation a huge achievement for the student who, in third grade, was voted Quietest Voice.
Dr. Melanie opened the first orthodontic practice in 4S Ranch in October 2007. She is married to Dr. Jimmy Wang, a general dentist, and they have three children who are at Oak Valley Middle and Del Sur Elementary. Dr. Melanie has served as a volunteer for her childrens classes, and she and Jimmy are proud Title sponsors of Del Sur Elementary. When they arent at their offices or shuttling their kids around town, you can find them doing jujitsu, training for a race or relaxing at the beach.
At Dr. Melanie Orthodontics, we may not take ourselves too seriously but we are serious about creating healthy, beautiful smiles. Our highly trained team members combine cutting-edge technology with outstanding service to offer expert care to children, teens and adults, including those with special needs. And, we have fun doing it!

I am SO happy Dr. Melanie took over. She and her AMAZING staff are highly professional, warm, inviting, and incredibly efficient. They make the process simple and easy. We had massive problems with the previous ortho, whose staff literally did NOTHING with our new insurance for ONE YEAR. Yes, you read that correctly. After a year, I received an email that I owed them $2000. They'd never bothered to update the insurance, which I'd given them a year earlier, in writing. Believe it or not, they NEVER fixed the problem. Fortunately, Ariana took care of the issue in less than 15 minutes! The place is now VERY happy and upbeat, parents are encouraged to come in and sit with their children, and are briefed on progress at each appointment, something that never happened before the switch. So thrilled and grateful. Dr. Melanie for President!!

Dr. Melanie and her staff are kind and extremely knowledgeable! Her office is clean and my kids enjoy going to her office. We were patients of Dr. Melanie's in 4S Ranch. When she opened in Rancho Santa Fe, we were over the moon! We could not believe our luck! We live right near this new office! We would follow Dr. Melanie wherever she works. However, having her so conveniently located is an added bonus! All five of my kids go to Dr. Melanie! I would highly recommend her for any/all orthodontic work.

My experience with Dr. Kupiec & staff has been far from pleasant. I had braces put on 2/27/2017 and I paid $5,580.00, given estimated 18x months treatment time. On 1/24/2018 he took braces off which was 7x months early, and didn't put braces on back teeth. In images taken from second opinion, I could see where back teeth were crooked, plus I couldn't bite down on left side. When expressed concern to his office, I was told to go back to referring dentist who initially wanted to do unnecessary work. This dentist had wanted to replace a perfectly functioning bridge & crown but couldn't give me a valid reason to have replaced, other than causing my chakras to be unaligned (I am not joking!). So having Dr. Kupiec tell me this now was a bit of shock, seeing as how he told me prior to having braces put on, I don't blame you for not having the additional work done. I agreed to ONLY have braces put on with the understanding I wouldn't have the crown or bridge removed. And since then I have sought two other ortho's opinions, in which both quoted me $5,000 plus to have braces put back on to finish what Dr. Kupiec started. Additionally, I paid one of the otho's (Dr. Kieffer) to have an equilibration done, so that I can bite down on left side. I'm frustrated because Dr. Kupiec could have done the same equilibration, also I've been requesting all of my ortho scans/records since Oct 2018 and I have yet to receive. It has been one excuse after another, and now they are asking me to pay them for scans. They said the company who has a copy is charging them $89 dollars. I've asked Kupiec office for the companies name & phone to contact myself but they have yet to provide. One more thing I feel it's important to mention is that Dr. Kupiec's very young girl friend sat in on one of my visits. She was wearing a leather jacket & stilettos which made it all seem very odd. It was left with the impression that Dr. Kupiec was dealing with a jealous girl friend. None the less, it was very unprofessional. Best, Emma

We absolutely love Dr. Kupiec and his staff. The environment is so welcoming. My children always feel welcome and actually excited to go. The office really encourages the kids to take care of their braces and incentivizes them. As a mom its nice to know my kids are really valued at Kupiec Orthodontics. I searched all around north county SD for a orthodontic office that suited our needs. I selected Dr. Kupiec's office because I didn't feel like my kid was just another number. I walk in with my 2 girls (both in braces) and I'm greeted like family, that's important to me. I work in the healthcare industry and that type of patient service is very difficult to find. The work they've done on both of my daughters mouths has been nothing but amazing and my daughters feel safe and secure in their hands. I can't recommend them enough.
