Dr. Meghan Barroner, D.M.D. - Oral surgeon in Pittsburgh, PA

Dr. Barroner grew up in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania and moved to southwestern Pennsylvania to complete her undergraduate studies at Washington & Jefferson College. After completing pre-dental courses and graduating with a BA in Psychology cum laude, she moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and earned a D.M.D as valedictorian at Temples Kornberg School of Dentistry.

While in dental school she served on many committees and also participated in several volunteer and humanitarian opportunities to help provide dental care to underserved populations. She also received recognition from her faculty members by being elected to join the elite group of dental professionals in the dental honor society Omicron Kappa Upsilon (Kappa Kappa Chapter). Dr. Barroner was also awarded the Dr. Benjamin Homer Award-presented to the senior student who has demonstrated scholastic excellence and exemplifies the qualities and ideals of integrity and civility; the Horace Wells Award-to the senior student for outstanding achievement in the field of dental anesthesiology; and the Sigma Epsilon Delta Dental Fraternitys Dr. Reuben MatzkinAward-to the student who has obtained the highest academic average over four years.

After completion of dental school, Dr. Barroner pursued specialized training in anesthesiology in Indianapolis, Indiana at Wishard Hospital. She was then accepted into the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program at the University of Rochester in upstate New York, under Department Chairman Dr. Lee Pollan, Past President of theAmerican Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. Her training took place in a preeminent level-1 regional trauma center, which received medical flights from hospitals as far south as Pennsylvania and north to the Canadian border. The program focused on office-based dental and jaw surgery and anesthesia, dental extractions, dental implants and bone grafts, jaw repositioning surgery, facial trauma, and TMJ disorders. Dr. Barroner also published scholarly articles specific to the field of oral & maxillofacial surgery.

After completing her formal training as an oral andmaxillofacial surgeon, she continues to stay up-to-date by consistently attending continuing education courses across the country and by maintaining current board certified status and licensure. Dr. Barroner worked within two well-established Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery offices in Pennsylvania after completing her oral surgery residency and these experiences have allowed her to excel in her own private oral & maxillofacial surgery practice. Above all, she has learned to place her patients first in all professional considerations, and has been rewarded with happy, appreciative patients. This is surely one of the most important lessons she has acquired during dental school, residency, and private practice. She continues to find the entire scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery fascinating, and looks forward to a long profession as an oral surgeon serving the Pittsburgh, South Hills and Washington communities.

In her downtime, she enjoys spending time with family (husband Justin, daughters Marley & Remme and their pets) and friends. She especially enjoys travel, snowboarding, reading and community activities.

Dr. Barroner is Fan-effin-tastic. She provides services that you hope never to need, but if you need them, she is clearly the one to visit. What brought us to Dr. Barroner was my 16-year-old- son's four impacted wisdom teeth. He had two 12-year molars that had not yet erupted due to these gargantuan-ass teeth sitting in their way. His Orthodontist, Dr. Troy, had recommended two surgeons, but I got the better vibe from Dr. Barroner's office. That may be due to the office Wonder Woman known as Rose. In fact, everyone in that office is friendly and professional. Because my son is diabetic, we had some extra prep to do, and we were well informed in advance of what needed to be done before, during, and after the visit. The surgery went smoothly - skilled, quality work done right. They even let us come back in to allay concerns about what we thought was extra bleeding (which was normal bleeding, I guess we were just nervous nellies!) She then followed up the next day, as well as the following week (and I surmize she'll continue to do so because she's that conscientious) to find out how he was and let us know we could call her anytime if we have any problems or questions. I'm so glad we chose to use Dr. Barroner for the wisdom tooth extraction. If you need an oral surgeon, and you go anywhere else, you're a total bonehead. I usually attach photos, but I don't know what I would put here. You probably don't want to look at his teeth, which we did get to take home. Thank you, Dr. Barroner and the rest of the staff at Elevated Oral & Implant Surgery!

Had horrible anxiety prior to having abscessed tooth removed. Dr Barroner and staff were great and eased my fears. The extraction and bone graft went very well. Minimal bleeding and no swelling after surgery. The staff there is professionals don't I received a phone call later that evening from Dr Barroner asking how I was doing. I highly recommend her.

She could not have been easier to work with! I needed an X-ray because I still have my wisdom teeth. I show up and spend all of a couple minutes in the waiting room (free water and coffee BTW). What surprised me the most is that Dr. Barroner herself did the X-ray. She then spent a few minutes with me looking at the x-ray and by the time I left it was already emailed to me. 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone.

Horrible experience 2 years ago still affecting me now! Spiteful and revengeful if crossed. Tried to just get over it but haunts me still. Since I didn't follow the queens orders last time, she withheld scheduled surgery and let me wait hrs in waiting room! This order had nothing to do w the $3k surgery. I had to leave especially after her suggestion of no anesthesia!! Wow!!! Maybe she was having a bad day but this really screwed me over to this day!

Just had a tooth extracted and bone graft yesterday morning. Very professional and friendly staff and Dr. Barroner was great explaining the procedure, care, and what to expect during recovery. The tooth extraction was painless and very quick compared to my past experiences with wisdom teeth removal. I highly recommend Dr. Barroner and her staff.

I'm 38 and had to have all 4 impacted wisdom teeth extracted. I had no problems at all. They even got me an earlier appointment than expected when I had a scheduling conflict. All four removed with no swelling, barely any pain and no complications. Highly recommended. Staff if very friendly, great follow-up overall a great experience (especially since I was quite worried).

I cannot recommend this office enough! Due to COVID-19, they allowed me to reschedule my procedure(twice!) until I felt comfortable, no questions asked. Dr. Barroner is very personable and I experienced little to no pain after my procedure. Dr. Barroner personally called me after my procedure to check on me.Joyce was also a pleasure to work with and she answered all of my insurance related questions ( my carrier was being very difficult to work with). Thank you!

Two weeks ago Dr. Barroner did a full extraction. I also needed some jaw bone ground down. This took about 3 hours and I was fully sedated. Afterwards the pain was very manageable with only Tylenol and Advil. Very happy with the result. I had a follow up visit today and all is going well. Highly recommend!
