With the exception of attending college and residency programs, my home has always been Bend, Oregon. I was fortunate to have been born and raised in Central Oregon and to attend college here. During high school and the first 2 years of college at COCC, I worked for veterinary clinics where I discovered my passion for dentistry. After attending COCC, I earned a BS in Nutrition Science with a double minor in Chemistry and Business at OSU. GO BEAVERS!
After OSU, I moved to Philadelphia, PA, to attend Dental School at Temple University. Implant dentistry fascinated me, so I spent a considerable amount of time learning and practicing it. All the effort resulted in earning faculty and Academy of Osseointegration awards for my work in implant dentistry. What an honor that was and still is!
Im a firm believer in continuing education which led me to a hospital-based residency for Yale University in Danbury, Connecticut. This residency afforded me the opportunity to take on cases involving multiple specialties, practicing right next to highly-specialized physicians and dentists. Scrubbing in on multiple reconstructive jaw surgeries encouraged my interest in long-term health issues such as sleep apnea. While in residency, I attended a 6-month course at NYU in implant placement and restoration.
After residency, I returned to Bend with the goal to acquire and manage my own practice, a goal I worked towards even during the recession. While looking for a practice, I worked as an associate dentist and spent time volunteering in the community. My time at Kemple Childrens Clinic, Medical Teams International Dental Van, Neighborhood Impact Head Start, and Project Connect allowed me to bring my skills and education to the community in a different way.
My beautiful, accomplished wife Jenni and I thoroughly enjoy all that Central Oregon has to offer. We spend our downtime riding mountain and dirt bikes, hiking, paddle boarding, wake-boarding, wake surfing, and enjoying the amazing restaurants in our area.
We feel very fortunate to be part of the fabric of the community where we now choose to raise our own family. Ultimately, Ive come full circle and now have the opportunity to contribute to the community with quality, personal dental care for patients of all ages.

AMAZING!!! Best dentist I have ever been to!!! Went for a sore tooth and found had to have 2 pulled. Absolutely no pain from start to finish! The Dr. & Staff were so nice and helpful and made me at ease. No one likes going to dentist but they made the whole process so easing and stress free. Explained everything in such detail of what was needed and what they were doing during the process and everything to do after visit. They even worked with my on the payments since I did not have dental insurance. Honestly the best dentist I have ever been to. I highly recommend them with to anyone who needs a good dentist.

Dr. McCleery is phenomenal. He is smart, patient and kind, and does super high quality work. He uses state-of-the-art techniques and equipment. Being someone who is afraid of the dentist, I arrive expecting a terrible experience, and each time I leave my appointments thinking how great it went. I have had several appointments involving routine and also major dental work. Dr. McCleery also takes care of all 3 of my children and they love it. I can't say enough good things and would recommend him to everyone. Also a plus is the nice staff, including Lori at the front desk.

Called and spoke with Lori, we set up an appointment for the next morning for an emergency tooth extraction. My husband said that Dr. Matt was super chill and did an excellent job, staff was super nice and wonderful, he felt no judgement and they ALL made him feel comfortable. Thank you so much, will continue to see you!

A friend referred me to Dr. McCleery about a few years ago after I told her I wasn't feeling confident about my former dentist's care. (I had such an excellent dentist before moving here and wanted to find someone of similar quality.) I'm very happy with Dr. McCleery. He's knowledgable, friendly, professional, and proactive. Under his care, I had to have a biopsy and his referral was also stellar. Most recently during quarantine, my husband woke up on a Friday with a consuming, painful toothache. His own dentist was not available, so I suggested I call Dr. McCleery. His office was closed during quarantine, but I was able to reach him via instructions from the office's recorded message and got right through. Though he was in Redmond at the time and my husband was not his patient, he still drove over to Bend to meet with him within an hour and was able to ensure my husband was diagnosed and would be comfortable through the weekend, assuring him that he'd schedule his surgery as soon as he could get staff arranged. My husband was so grateful as he didn't think he could have gone through the weekend without a pain prescription and anti-biotic for the infection. The surgery was scheduled quickly and all things went smoothly. To top it off, Dr. McCleery sent us a Thank You letter saying how he appreciated meeting my husband. He's such a gem! We owe him a BIG Thank you! My husband wants to continue with Dr. Cleery and was so grateful to have him come to his aid despite the challenges of quarantine. It definitely was going out of his way for him to help and that says a lot. Thank you, Dr. Cleery, and thank you to your wonderful team.
