Welcome, and thank you for visiting our site. Our practice has the unique distinction as one of the first periodontal offices in the region (founded by Dr. Bill Rogers in 1972), and I have thedistinct pleasure of continuing our legacy of providing personalized, patient-driven periodontal care to the people of the Knoxville area andsurrounding communities.
I come to Knoxville from Dallas, where I received both my dental and post-doctoral degrees as well as my certification in Periodontics from Baylor College of Dentistry. I have achieved recognition as a Diplomate of Periodontology and DentalImplant Surgery by the American Board of Periodontology, the highest standard within our specialty, as well as the distinction of a Pierre Fauchard Fellow -a peer-nominated membership.
My wife Sara and I are both native Texans from Tyler, and are proud graduates of Texas A&M University, however we were drawn to the beauty and relaxed atmosphere of East Tennessee, where we now root for the Vols (except with the Aggies are playing!). We have three wonderful children, are active members of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church, and enjoy spending time exploring the beauty ofthisarea, from the Smokies...tothe playgrounds and soccer fields in our local parks!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I was referred to Dr. Heaton by my general dentist. From the minute I met Dr. Heaton I felt comfortable with him. He took time to explain what he would be doing (exam) and why. After the exam, he took time to explain everything to me. He was not rushed and he made sure I understood everything. My dentist sent me to Dr. Heaton out of an abundance of caution. While, after the exam, it was determined that I currently do not need Dr. Heaton's services at this time, should there come a time that I need a periodontist, I will absolutely, with no hesitation contact Dr. Heaton. I've already recommended him to others, should they ever need a periodontist and my appointment was just this morning. Dr. Heaton's assistant Tiffany (not sure of spelling) was wonderful as well. Dr. Heaton is so knowledgeable and is very honest and upfront. He doesn't try to "sell" procedures/services that you do not need. I really do wish I could give more than 5 stars. I went in to this appointment very worried about what he may tell me and left feeling very reassured and confident in what he told me.

This review comes nearly ten years post-procedure with Dr. Heaton. Since my implant, I have lived in three different cities (Chicago, Minneapolis & Austin), and along the way, I have had several dentists. When I see a new dentist, I explain my dental history with each, and a part of that is to let them know that I have an implant. The point I want to make with this review is simple - every time a dentist sees my implant and views the X-rays, they are always in awe about the quality of the work. I am always asked who performed the implant and informed that he (Dr. Heaton) did a fantastic job. Needless to say but, I recall the procedure and felt at that time, Dr. Heaton is a great Doctor. Ten years later, I can say that every dentist that has looked at my mouth since has been equally impressed with his work. Thanks, Dr. Heaton!

Dr. Heaton and his staff helped me with my anxiety of being in a dental office. Dr. Heaton communicates everything with you so you know exactly what is happening. He's transparent , which I very much appreciate . They are absolutely amazing! I can't say enough about them!

I went in to see Dr. Heaten today- first time patient. He was highly recommend by a former dentist who was retiring and was recommended by my mom. I went in for a consultation and he was amazing! He answered my questions, got straight to the point and explained everything in a way that one could understand. The front area was extremely clean and the clinic rooms were extremely clean. He took his time talking to me and didn't rush the conversation to go assist someone else and didn't rush me out the door either which this my favorite thing about the visit today. I hate when doctors rush through everything and you leave not knowing anything. Now for his assistant Tiffany- love her. She was great. Made me feel comfortable and relaxed. She took her time taking the x-rays of my teeth to ensure they captured the areas that were needed. Angie at the front desk was great also she did what she said and called me with an earlier appointment that had opened. Overall this place is a 10. The environment from walking in to going to the patient room was great and welcoming. I highly recommend!!
