Dr. Matthew pate treated my 5 yr Old Autistic son horribly today. My little guy has always had a bad fear of the dentist. He is also non verbal so sounds or screams are how he communicates when he is upset or scared. Dr. Pate got up in the middle of the examination and said we would have to make another appointment so he could communicate with me. He said he couldn't hear to talk with me about my child's teeth. He also said that he could no longer be part of my sons care because he is a danger to his staff. He is 5, he didn't hurt anyone, he was just screaming because he was scared. The nurses are very impatient and rude with my son, as well as Dr. Pate. Children with Autism deserve the same treatment as any other child. As I know my son is not the only child to cry or scream at the dentist.

My young daughter had a very traumatic appointment with another dentist two weeks before her visit with Dr Pate, she was nervous and so was I to meet Dr.Pate. When he entered the room he was sweet, kind and caring to both of us. He was funny and connected with my daughter so she wasn't scared anymore. His staff was also very kind and compassionate as well. Dr. Pate enjoys his job and you can definitely tell that he understands that dentist can be scary so he makes them feel so much better about being there. I would definitely recommend taking your children here.

We have been visiting this office every 6 months for 18 years, three kids and two sets of braces! We drive for almost an hr to this office and am so thankful for the care and treatments we have received. My oldest wishes she could still go as an adult because of the trust and relationships she's gained, my middle (ASD, and anxiety )has requested her cleanings on her birthday because she loves it and my youngest felt no pain with a cavity being taken care of and is way more excited about his braces than we ever thought he would be. This place has gone above and beyond to make our trips to the dentist valued. So thankful 18 years ago another office didn't want to deal with my oldest so we found this place! It was meant to be!

The staff is nice and patient with the kids. I've never had an issue with scheduling appointments or changing them. They go above and beyond for their patients! My daughter has been going here for 5 years and my youngest will go here as well.

We were referred to dr. Pate when my second son had a serious cavity. Everything went fine and all four of my children continued seeing dr. Pate and his staff every 6 months for regular cleanings. Now my children brush twice a day and are not allowed to go to bed if they have eaten anything without brushing first. Occasionally we will floss. Two years later my same son has two cavities around the tooth that been a problem before. We scheduled the appropriate appointment. When the doctor came in to begin the procedure he asked me if I had been flossing his teeth every day. When I told him that I had not been flossing his teeth every day he went as far as to say he was mad at me. He went on to say how many cavities he must fill a year and that my Medicaid insurance was poor coverage for the procedure. All this he had raised his voice to say and in front of my young son who is eight-years-old just prior to his cavity filling. When I spoke up explaining how we care for our children's teeth and how many we had with so few problems he went on to say that he wasn't judging me. This would have been completely unnecessary if he was actually not judging me. Needless to say this is not the type of environment you want to find yourself in just prior to a sensitive procedure. I can no longer bring my children to this doctor after seeing how capable he is of acting unprofessionally. It would be better not to accept Medicaid patients if they are going to be treated so disrespectfully. Medicaid does not equal irresponsible. I choose to stay home and care for my children myself over a higher annual income. It is hard when your child has something like a cavity but harder when you're treated so severely over it as though you are a neglectful.

Absolutely the worst professional I have ever seen. Not suited to deal with children more less the public. People whom sit in your chair pay for your living, treat them as such.

Dr. Pate was very upset during my autistic 4 yr olds routine exam. He was upset because she was starting to get scared and briefly grabbed the mirror. He was also upset because I stated we should probably hurry to avoid a worse meltdown. This dentist does not know how to deal with children with disabilities. He claims to know how behaviors should be dealt with but I'm going to trust my daughters therapists over him,

Worst place I have taken my kid. The Drs are very rude when it comes to a child who is scared. They told us in front of our son that he needed to grow up and we need to find a new Dentist. He was taking baby steps to gain trust back in a dentist and they brought him back down. They have no patience which children at all. It's all about the money and getting kids in and out that they can't take time with the ones who are scared. Will never recommend them to anyone.
