Dr. Matthew Coons and his wife Amy were both born and raised in the north county of San Luis Obispo. After graduating from Paso Robles High School they went to college and became school teachers, returning to the central coast and teaching in Lompoc and then Paso Robles. Matt taught Spanish and is fluent, having lived in Chile as a missionary for his church for two years and having studied it in college.

Dr. Coons then went back to school and graduated from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. He worked in Colorado for three years and then San Luis Obispo before buying Atascadero Family Dentistry.

Matt and Amy have five children and live in Templeton. Most of their time is dedicated to their kids sports and school work. When he isnt on the sidelines of a field or in the stands, Matt enjoys surfing, hiking and camping.

Allie is a hygienist here at Atascadero Family Dentistry. She graduated from Foothill College in Los Altos, California in 2007. She was born and raised in King City, California. Allie loves spending time with her family traveling and exploring. She keeps herself busy by volunteering, training for half-marathons and crafting. Allie knew from the time she was a child that she wanted to be a dental hygienist. She loves educating and building close relationships with her patients. She is an amazing hygienist we are very lucky to have her at our office.

My name is Rylee. I was born and raised in Templeton, California, and graduated from Templeton High School. I love meeting new people & connecting with them. Dentistry runs in my family so I am continuing the family tradition! When Im not here at the office, I love spending my time making memories with my family. I love traveling to tropical destinations & exploring around the central coast!

Kacy has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 2007. She moved from the Central Valley to the Central Coast in 2015, and has been a member of the Atascadero Family Dentistry team ever since. She loves being part of such a caring group of individuals, who strive to provide dental care of the highest quality. She enjoys all of the patients and the wonderful rapport she has developed with them over the years.

Julie is a dental hygienist, she has her bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene from USC, class of '89. She lives in Cambria with her husband David and Bernese Mountain Dog 'Trudie'. She loves the drive to Atascadero, and says it 's the most beautiful drive in the country.

My name is Kimberly and I was born and raised in Templeton. I have been in dentistry for almost a year. I am currently studying psychology at Cuesta College. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my friends, family and my pets.

Candy has lived in Paso Robles for 20 years with her 3 children. Candy spent her first 14 years in dentistry in the back as an RDA, assisting the Dr in all the patient procedures. She now works in the front office greeting patients, creating treatment plans and working with our patients insurance plans. In Candy's free time she enjoys learning new things and exploring our beautiful country.

Amy was born and raised in Paso Robles. She and Dr. Matt Coons are high school sweethearts and both graduated from Brigham Young University and taught school, Amy taught Health and Matt taught Spanish and History. Now they both work together at Atascadero Family Dentistry, with Amy working in the front office. They both enjoy spending time together and with their five children, three daughters and two sons.
