It is a privilege and honor to be a dentist. I feel its a trusted position in our community, and one that I cannot take lightly. Being a dentist means I must treat each person with the same level of care that Id provide to a family member: professionally, compassionately, and gently, and always with integrity.
I love my patients. Its fun and challenging to care for afive-year-oldand teach them how to brush their teeth, then encourage a teenager to floss more regularly, and later in the day to talk with a 95-year-old about their oral health. I love seeing the broad spectrum of life and being able to offer assistance to everyone. After working in East Ventura for more than ten years, Ive developed relationships with many families. Watching children become teens, and then adults, and having them feel like a member of my own family, is wonderful.
Every day Im challenged by dentistry. Each time I learn a new area of the profession, its another tool in the toolbox that allows me to offer better treatment plans to my patients. I love that there is never any end to the number of things I can learn about my field, all of them focused on helping people develop and maintain excellent oral health and smiles.
Im a graduate of the Progressive OrthodonticSeminars, which is a two-year continuing education program that gives dentists the experience needed to deliver comprehensive orthodontic care. Ive also completed a dental implant mini residence, and numerous other courses in endodontics,and oral surgery.
Im a Southern California native and have lived in Ventura since 2003. My wife, Neeta Wallace, is an anesthesiologist from St. Johns. When Im not working, Im usually spending time with and caring for my four children.
I enjoy being active and can often be found running, swimming, and surfing. I do at least one triathlon a year, and am a blue belt in BrazilianJiu Jitsu, which is a great way to let out stress at the end of the day.

I enjoy chatting with our patients and learning about their lives. When they share stories about their interestsor talk about their day, it builds a bond and we often become friends. I love that Im able to help my friends improve their dental health and smiles.
I assist our patients throughout their visits. After bringing them into the treatment area, I make sure theyre comfortable in the chair and prepare them for Dr. Wallace. Then I sit chairside while the doctor cares for them, and tellthem whats going on and making sure theyre relaxed. At the end of their visit, I provide any post-op care instructions and answer questions. Im here to help, whatever a patient needs!
I began my career in dentistry in 1993, first as a dental assistant and then as a hygienist after graduating from West LA College with my degree. I became a member of the East Ventura Family Dentistry team in 2007.
As a dental hygienist, I work with Dr. Wallace to evaluate and meet the oral needs of our patients. From a clinical standpoint, I provide oral health assessments, patient history reviews, gentle cleanings and periodontal therapy, and education about the best oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health. While all of this is obviously vital to our patients health, I believe the personal relationships I develop with each patient also plays a large part in his or her overall health and wellness. I truly enjoy meeting new people and working with them to ensure a lifetime of beautiful and healthy smiles.

I am Jack O'Neill, a chiropractor in Oxnard. I have been going to Dr. Wallace for many years and I have had great experiences each and every time! The staff are super nice. The dental hygienists are very detail oriented and very good at their jobs. As for Dr. Wallace he has a very calming bedside manner and has the best techniques I have ever experienced! I actually look forward to my visits!

I am in the middle of the denture process.. Extraction phase was (great!) I mean hey, Dr Matt was profecient, When THAT is happening, wow, right? The process was quick, I felt no pain, and the staff gave so much encouragement they are empathetic and efficient, and Dr Matt's assistants are reassuring as well. He asked to see me every 2-3 days for a while after the full mouth extractions. I thought that amount of care and concern was exceptional. Dr Matt is thorough in explaining every step that I am taking. So now I have had molds made, and two or three fittings for those. Next, I'll choose size and color of the teeth, have two security tabs inserted for the lower plate to snap into place! I am excited about the future and I am looking forward to having my fantastic smile back again! I'll post a selfie soon! Hesitate no longer. Get in there for x-rays and consult with Dr. Matt Wallace soon! Together you can make a long-term plan of care and repair. The prices are right too! OH I almost forgot: They have a new-to-me X-ray proceeding that is comfortable I was glad about that!

Dr. Wallace himself is very friendly and nice guy. The Staff is very helpful, personable and friendly. If you are looking for an honest opinion and good work for your teeth this is the place to visit. Not a very fancy upscale facility, no marketing gimics just an honest good Dentist.

Dr. Wallace did an amazing job on straightening my teeth. The process was always super easy and I was in and out of the chair extremely quick. I always felt comfortable when I was in the office and had no hassles or problems whatsoever!

Dr. Wallace and his staff are the BEST. His staff is friendly and competent. Dr. Wallace is patient, thorough and is willing to discuss with you the pros and cons for all decisions you need to make. I know most people dread the bi-annual teeth cleaning because of bad experiences with rough doctors, you will not experience that in Dr. Wallace's office. Most recently I lost half of my front tooth in an accident on a Saturday evening. I called Dr. Wallace on his after-hours line and he answered. I told him the problem and he meet me in his office straight away, took care of my tooth and I could not be happier. I was so worried that I was going to have to walk around with a huge gap in the front of my mouth, but Dr. Wallace took care of it, no problem. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

My favorite DDS thus far. My parent's referred me and I couldn't be happier. He did my two implants and crowns. Super friendly. Great staff. Very pleased with his work.

I broke a tooth and got an appointment to treat it in two weeks from another oral surgeon. After one week it was very painful, swollen and infected. Upon hearing of my problem, my neighbor immediately recommended Dr. Wallace who treated his wife and him with great results. I called Dr. Wallace and got an appointment and the tooth was removed the next day. With antibiotics the infection healed and I went on to get an implant over the next few visits - about 6 months. From this overall experience I was impressed by this office. They respond to urgent needs, the appointments are on time, Dr. Wallace does all the steps needed to get a tooth replaced by an implant and his work is careful and well explained. I will continue using his office.
