It is a privilege and honor to be a dentist. I feel its a trusted position in our community, and one that I cannot take lightly. Being a dentist means I must treat each person with the same level of care that Id provide to a family member: professionally, compassionately, and gently, and always with integrity.
I love my patients. Its fun and challenging to care for afive-year-oldand teach them how to brush their teeth, then encourage a teenager to floss more regularly, and later in the day to talk with a 95-year-old about their oral health. I love seeing the broad spectrum of life and being able to offer assistance to everyone. After working in East Ventura for more than ten years, Ive developed relationships with many families. Watching children become teens, and then adults, and having them feel like a member of my own family, is wonderful.
Every day Im challenged by dentistry. Each time I learn a new area of the profession, its another tool in the toolbox that allows me to offer better treatment plans to my patients. I love that there is never any end to the number of things I can learn about my field, all of them focused on helping people develop and maintain excellent oral health and smiles.
Im a graduate of the Progressive OrthodonticSeminars, which is a two-year continuing education program that gives dentists the experience needed to deliver comprehensive orthodontic care. Ive also completed a dental implant mini residence, and numerous other courses in endodontics,and oral surgery.
Im a Southern California native and have lived in Ventura since 2003. My wife, Neeta Wallace, is an anesthesiologist from St. Johns. When Im not working, Im usually spending time with and caring for my four children.
I enjoy being active and can often be found running, swimming, and surfing. I do at least one triathlon a year, and am a blue belt in BrazilianJiu Jitsu, which is a great way to let out stress at the end of the day.

I enjoy chatting with our patients and learning about their lives. When they share stories about their interestsor talk about their day, it builds a bond and we often become friends. I love that Im able to help my friends improve their dental health and smiles.
I assist our patients throughout their visits. After bringing them into the treatment area, I make sure theyre comfortable in the chair and prepare them for Dr. Wallace. Then I sit chairside while the doctor cares for them, and tellthem whats going on and making sure theyre relaxed. At the end of their visit, I provide any post-op care instructions and answer questions. Im here to help, whatever a patient needs!
I began my career in dentistry in 1993, first as a dental assistant and then as a hygienist after graduating from West LA College with my degree. I became a member of the East Ventura Family Dentistry team in 2007.
As a dental hygienist, I work with Dr. Wallace to evaluate and meet the oral needs of our patients. From a clinical standpoint, I provide oral health assessments, patient history reviews, gentle cleanings and periodontal therapy, and education about the best oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health. While all of this is obviously vital to our patients health, I believe the personal relationships I develop with each patient also plays a large part in his or her overall health and wellness. I truly enjoy meeting new people and working with them to ensure a lifetime of beautiful and healthy smiles.
