Dr. Mary was born and raised on a farm near Dolton, SD. Her parents Clarence and Ginette Dick hauled water and farmed just two miles south of Stanley Corner. Dr. Mary attended USD and earned a bachelors degree in Biology before attending the University of Nebraska for Dental School, where she graduated in 1986 as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. Dr. Mary married and moved to Rapid City where she worked in a group practice early in her career. In 1991, McCook County Dental became available and Dr. Mary jumped at the opportunity to move home and serve the communities she grew up in, and the people who shes known her whole life. Dr. Mary has been practicing at McCook County Dental ever since and cant imagine doing anything elseshe loves what she does and who she gets to take care of.
Dr. Mary lives on an acreage by Marion with her husband Dale. They enjoy traveling, camping and cruising. During the fall, Dr. Mary has been a Husker Football Fan since dental school, and is a season ticket holder. If you are looking for Dr. Mary on a home-game Saturday, Memorial Stadium is a great place to start your search- unless she has the chance to be spending the day with her grandchildren. Dr. Mary also enjoys spending time with her daughter, Kristin, who also works part time for her and her grandchildren Kinslee Jo, Coulter and Berklee.
Jeanette Grady joined the McCook County Dental team in October of 2013 as our full time hygienist.She has been a great addition to the team bringing a huge amount of knowledge and skill with her. Dr. Mary praises Jeanette as the most thorough and talented hygienist shehas worked with- especially in the areas of periodontics and preventive dentistry and how it relates to total health.
Jeanette graduated from USD in 2001 earning her Bachelor's of Science in Dental Hygiene. Jeanette has practiced dental hygiene for 15 years and has earned certifications in Laser Therapy, Local Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide. Jeanette is involved with the South Dakota Dental Hygienist Association and served as president from 2003-2005. She was voted the Hygienist of the year in 2005. She lives in Salem with her husband Jeremy and their children Jackson, 16; Joe, 14; and Julianne, 12.
Rita has been with McCook County Dental since 1999, where she is Dr. Mary's head Dental Assistant and office manager. Rita started as a front desk receptionist before attending Southeast Tech and becoming a Certified Dental Assistant in 2007. Rita loves her job as she gets to develop relationships with patients and help them through the procedures. Rita has been married to her husband Dave for 39 years and has 3 children : Evan who lives in Blue Earth, MN with his wife Amy and daughter Aria where he is the superintendent; Aaron who lives in New Haven, CT and is a Business Development Manager for Anphenol Products; and Angela who lives in Yankton, SD with her husband Todd and daughters Klaire and Emery where she is the choral director at Yankton High School. Rita is an avid quilter and makes quilts for Breast Cancer Organizations as she is a 5 - year breast cancer survivor. She celebrated by going to the Dominican Republic in March 2014 on a mission trip where she was able to be in charge of an oral hygiene instructional clinic in a mountain village in addition to other service projects. Rita gives praise to God for the opportunities he has afforded her.
