Born in East Tennessee, Dr. McGrath has been a Louisville resident since 1977. After graduating from Ballard High School in 1979, where he was a National Merit Scholar, Dr. McGrath attended the University of Louisville on full scholarship. Accepted into dental school after only 3 years of undergraduate studies, Dr. McGrath graduated from the University of Louisville's School of Dentistry in 1986, at the relatively young age of 25. After marrying that summer, Dr. McGrath began working as an associate to two different dentists, learning much about practice styles, and patient relations in the process. After a little over one year, Dr. McGrath began an association with a different dentist, in his current location, who was nearing retirement. In 1990, his predecessor retired, and Dr. McGrath has assumed complete responsibility for the treatment of his patients since.
Working with some of the finest Specialists in Eastern Jeffererson County, and all of Louisville, Dr. McGrath prides himself on his ability to integrate these team members almost seamlessly into a more complex treatment plan. Whether it be a complex oral surgery case, or a root canal in a multi-rooted molar, one of the fine specialists in Dr. McGrath's team will render the same excellent care you would expect from Dr. McGrath himself.
An Oldham County native, Theresa has been on Dr. McGrath's staff since 1994.Theresa is not only excellent at meeting your scheduling needs, but can efficiently handle even the most difficult insurance companies! Married, Theresa is a mother to one son, and one step-son. She is also a proud new Grandmother!
Handling mostly accounting duties, Brenda also helps out in the front office from time to time. Prior to beginning working with her husband in 1993, Brenda worked the front desk at the Oral Surgery and Dentistry Clinic in the Primary Care Center at U of L. She is a formally trained EDDA (Expanded Duty Dental Assistant), graduating from U of L's Dental Assisting program in 1983.

Posting the review I was looking for when searching for a dentist. I needed a dentist who will clean my teeth and address any issues requiring attention and Dr. McGrath did an excellent job. He's not going to feed you any BS or try and do any extraneous procedures so he can bill your insurance. It's a cozy, welcoming environment and it's exactly what I was looking for. Avoid those car salesmen at the big dentists at all costs

Dr. McGrath has been my family's dentist for 17 years. He is gentle, thorough and very professional. His staff, Teresa, is always helpful and accommodating, as well.
