As a pediatric dentist, I have a unique opportunity to have a positiveeffect on the self-esteem and confidence of my young patients, all while helping them develop a positive opinion of dentistry. I treat patients and parents with respect, and encourage active participation in achieving oral health goals.

I grew up in Vicksburg, Mississippi andgraduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in science in 1996. Then I attended the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry, where I graduated with honors in 2000. Two years later, I completed my residency program in pediatric dentistry at the Virginia Commonwealth/Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry and received my Master of Science. I also serve as an adjunct faculty member at the VCU/MCV School of Dentistry.

I am a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a fellow in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. I am active in many professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, both the Virginia and Southeastern Societies of Pediatric Dentistry, the Virginia Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society.

We recognize that all our patients are unique and deserve to receive dental care that reflects their individual needs. Dr. Huie is great with children! We've been to his office several times over the last few months. He makes dental exams and other procedures smooth and my children are always comfortable with him and his staff.

I am so impressed with this office! I took my daughter to 5 different dentist trying to get some work done on her teeth/find a lifelong dentist. She has a lot of anxiety with dentists. But Dr. Huie was very kind and patient and got the work done quickly. He even called the next day to make sure my daughter was doing alright. I also have a special needs son and this office is amazing with him too! All the hygienists are so sweet. I seriously cannot say enough good things about them. I found my kids dentist.

Couldn't be happier with this dentist. Dr. Huie and dental assistants were knowledgeable and friendly! Kids loved it there. Prices were more than fair and it was obvious the doctor wasn't trying to make us pay more than we needed to.Our kids will continue to have dental work here!

Do Not bring your child to this dentist! I just left the new dentist office so angry because the new dentist is showing me that on the X-Rays Huie took 6 months ago it showed my daughter had an existing cavity, and he didn't see it. This was how my visit at Oceans of Smiles went: Seconds after Huie introducing himself he asked my 6year old daughter if she had a boyfriend to which my daughter very happily answered that she does have friends that are boys in her class, then he asked the same question again but he said it slower and with an emphasis on the word Boyfriend, my daughter just turned and look at me with a confused look, I didn't say anything and remained silent, so then Huie decided to break the awkward silence with a stay at home mom joke (which he and his assistant laughed it off) again I didn't say anything and remained silent. The rest of the visit he spent it flirting with his beautiful young blond assistance, teasing each other about who could spell the best and other stuff. So Unprofessional!

Dr. Huie, I would like to thank you for doing your part to ensure the safety of the families in our community by being a leader with your office infection control policies. There is a lot of confusion out there but Virginia Executive Order 63 clearly mandates "All patrons in the Commonwealth aged ten and over shall when entering, exiting, traveling through, and spending time inside cover their mouth and nose with a face covering, as described and recommended by the CDC." This is not a recommendation - it is law - subject of enforcement via the Virginia Department of Health - violations of which are punishable as a Class One misdemeanor. It can be difficult to meet the expectations of a large patient population with varying levels of understanding in the age of online reviews. Thank you, again, for your many years of providing excellent care and for keeping our kids safe! Sincerely, David Herce, DDS Diplomate, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry

My daughter has been going here for years. Imagine the surprise I get when I bring both my kids in and one of the workers tells me its a law per ADA to wear a mask. Huh? Since when, for one we don't and two they're 4 and 7. They asked me to wait outside to have the Dr speak to me about it. He never came out instead the same worker came out and said she mispsoke about it being a law. And that the Dr would loose his license if we didn't wear one because of state mandate. I told her it was a recommendation, not a law. (If people knew and actual read the law) The regurgitation of bs is so prominent here its unbelievable how many people are sheep. They essentially said they'd see me when no one was in office early in the morning, I'm assuming maskless. But what is the point wouldn't that still be "risking your liscense?" My kids and I are here now. This was my time of convience. I told her it is a recommendation not a law. After being denied entry I left with my kids. After getting home I called the office back asking for a letter of denied services, just to have for records to make sure I wouldn't be charge a no show fee or missed appt fee. Which they wouldn't give me because they said they didnt deny me service, they offered to reschedule. Uh no I came at a time convenient for me and you did deny my childrens care. I told her I didnt work for her office. People need to really wake up, your liberties are being taken right up from under you and you eagerly obey. All for a virus thats .0004% survival rate. WAKE UP!! And although I've enjoyed bringing my daughter here we will vote with our dollars and find alternative care. My kids teeth are perfectly healthy anyways...what a loss and disappointment.

This is a very nice practice, the staff is very professional and friendly and I love the care that Dr Huie takes with my son, the only thing is that there is no diversity in the office, it's like walking into the 1950s...that speaks volumes!

I have been taking my girls to Dr. Huie for many years now. I am extremely picky with who I entrust my children with. Dr. Huie and his staff are fun, knowledgeable and personable with children and their parents, they make it fun for the kiddos to be at a dental office. I would never consider another dentist for my children so I certainly hope Dr. Huie will be around for many more years. Thank you for many years of professionalism and fun Dr. Huie!!!

Dr Huie was excellent with my daughter. He immediately built up a trust with her after a horrible experience with her last pediatric dentist. She went from being fearful of dentists to telling everyone that she has the best dentist ever. That about says it all. Staff is also wonderful and never a long wait. We drive from Williamsburg and it's worth the longer drive.
