Dr. Marilia Paiva Tate is a Hoover High School graduate. She graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with degrees in Biology (B.S.) and Spanish (B.A.). She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry.
While attending Dental School, Dr. Tate became the first president and founder member of the Hispanic Dental Association Student Chapter. Dr. Tate is a member of the American Dental Association, the Alabama Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Alabama Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Tate lives in the Hoover area and enjoys spending time with her family, her husband Kevin, and their chocolate labrador named Luna. They are members at Shades Mountain Baptist Church and are actively involved in the community.
