East Colonial Dental Group is a modern, state-of-the-art practice offering Orlando area patients a full-range of general and cosmetic dental services, from routine check-ups to complete smile makeovers. Dr. Lauzan-Madruga practices conservative, proactive dentistry utilizing the latest in dental technology. Your comfort is always a primary concern.
Dr. Maria began her endeavor at Martires de Humboltd 7, located in San Antonio de los Baos, Habana , Cuba. She attended a high school specialized in advanced science curriculum from 1988-1991. After graduating, she was admitted to the School of Dentistry at the Universidad de la Habana. She was a member of the Achievement Club named Plan Talento. She was expected to graduate on August of 1996 however she decided to migrate to the United States before finishing dental school in June of 1995.
Arriving to the U.S., she then attended Miami Dade Community College and pursued her Associates Degree in Arts. She then obtained her Bachelors Degree in Biology from The State University of New York at Albany and was accepted into dental school at The University of Florida. She graduated from The University of Florida in 2005 and completed a General Practice Residency at the Veterans Hospital in Gainesville in 2006. She has been working in private practice since then.
After being in the Orlando for 2 years in active Private Practice, Dr Maria decided to open her private practice in the area. She started working in this location in March of 2010. Two years after having her private practice, she decided to go back to school and pursue a Master certification from the Academy of General Dentistry. It did require going back to school and collecting more than 1100 hours of Continuing Education in all areas of dentistry. There are over 15 000 fellows of the Academy and only less than 4000 Masters of the Academy in the entire United States. In June 20th, 2015 Dr Maria received her Masters by the Academy of General Dentistry in San Francisco. After this educational campaign was finished , Dr. Maria attended the Executive Business Management program from the College of Dentistry from the University of Florida to expand on her business knowledge and received her certification on October of 2015. Dr. Maria is also an active member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Dental Women.
Dr. Maria is also an active member of her community and her church helping other. She has been in mission trips to other places of the world to help with dental needs to those less fortunate. Dr. Maria has been married since August of 1995 and has three handsome sons named Leonardo, Edgar, and Alexandro.
Yeni, born and raised in Cuba, she also attended a Vocational high school for sciences and registered in the Dental School of Cienfuegos, Cuba where she completed three of five years prior to immigrating to the United States in 2004 After her arrival in US, Yenii became a certified dental assistant in 2006 and work in an Ortho office until the summer on 2013 that she enter Hygiene school at the Valencia College. She graduated in 2015 and has been working as a hygienist since then. She joined our office part time in November of 2015 and now is here every day of the week. She really enjoys making teeth feel healthier.
Carlos 26 years old, was born in Colombia and raised in Upstate New York. He attended the Dental Assisting School of Rockland NY and graduated in 2013. He is certified as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant. Carlos is very passionate about teeth and loves to learn everything that he can when it comes to Dentistry.
As much as he is dedicated with Dentistry and making his patients happy, Carlos is also equally passionate about everything soccer. During his free time he enjoys playing soccer in many different leagues throughout Central Florida. You can usually find him on his spare time watching, reading or playing soccer.
Nitza was born in Puerto Rico and raised in New Jersey. She has been in the Dental Field for over 20 years. She became a Certified Dental Assistant while attending her senior year in High School and through the years has transition to the Administrative part of the Dental field.

Very saddened by my experience today at Dr. Maria's practice today. She was extremely unprofessional and gave medical advice that she is NO WHERE NEAR qualified to give. She is a dentist, not a psychiatrist or dietician, and I think she should realize that. She gave personal advice that was not asked for, and frankly, made me very uncomfortable. She also shared personal experiences about her life that made me uncomfortable as well. I did not feel as if she respected me as a patient, but tried to use me as her personal therapist too. The experience was very strange and upsetting. I would also like to add that the bathroom was dirty and did not have toliet paper.

I ended up going here because I have seen how they treat my dad with care and attention to details. Dr. Maria along with her staffs are great at all the services they provide, friendly, and respectful. Would highly recommend! :)

This is one of the best dental offices I have been in a long time, staff is great, super friendly and welcoming. The actual dental service's is top notch I always feel like a have a new set of teeth when I leave the office.

Had a crown done and it was not fitted right but was sealed anyway by Dr. Maria's son who has no schooling and works the front desk but helps her out because she runs a bare bones staff. The cap put on by her left a huge gap from the cap to my gum line . The cap fits half way on my tooth with a huge amount of my root showing. I addressed this to her and the sensitivity that I have from it not being fitted properly her answer was she did that on purpose to I could clean it better and the sensitivity would go away. 5 months later the extreme sensitivity is still there so I went to another dentist because I do not trust her. The new dentist was shocked said she never saw a cap put on that way and it was completely unacceptable. The only way to fix the tooth sensitivity because to much of the root is exposed is to completely redo the cap. I emailed Dr. Maria about this for a refund and not even a response. Stay away from this place.

Dr. Maria is awesome. I've been with her for 3 years. Her staff is great. If you're looking for a primary care dentist, I would highly recommend her.

I was recommended to Dr. Maria's Dental Office a few weeks ago and after having very poor experiences with Dentists in the past, I was extremely hesitant on going. However, I had such an awesome experience with everyone there. They were professional from start to finish and Dr. Maria has such an amazing personality that she made me feel so comfortable.
