East Colonial Dental Group is a modern, state-of-the-art practice offering Orlando area patients a full-range of general and cosmetic dental services, from routine check-ups to complete smile makeovers. Dr. Lauzan-Madruga practices conservative, proactive dentistry utilizing the latest in dental technology. Your comfort is always a primary concern.
Dr. Maria began her endeavor at Martires de Humboltd 7, located in San Antonio de los Baos, Habana , Cuba. She attended a high school specialized in advanced science curriculum from 1988-1991. After graduating, she was admitted to the School of Dentistry at the Universidad de la Habana. She was a member of the Achievement Club named Plan Talento. She was expected to graduate on August of 1996 however she decided to migrate to the United States before finishing dental school in June of 1995.
Arriving to the U.S., she then attended Miami Dade Community College and pursued her Associates Degree in Arts. She then obtained her Bachelors Degree in Biology from The State University of New York at Albany and was accepted into dental school at The University of Florida. She graduated from The University of Florida in 2005 and completed a General Practice Residency at the Veterans Hospital in Gainesville in 2006. She has been working in private practice since then.
After being in the Orlando for 2 years in active Private Practice, Dr Maria decided to open her private practice in the area. She started working in this location in March of 2010. Two years after having her private practice, she decided to go back to school and pursue a Master certification from the Academy of General Dentistry. It did require going back to school and collecting more than 1100 hours of Continuing Education in all areas of dentistry. There are over 15 000 fellows of the Academy and only less than 4000 Masters of the Academy in the entire United States. In June 20th, 2015 Dr Maria received her Masters by the Academy of General Dentistry in San Francisco. After this educational campaign was finished , Dr. Maria attended the Executive Business Management program from the College of Dentistry from the University of Florida to expand on her business knowledge and received her certification on October of 2015. Dr. Maria is also an active member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Dental Women.
Dr. Maria is also an active member of her community and her church helping other. She has been in mission trips to other places of the world to help with dental needs to those less fortunate. Dr. Maria has been married since August of 1995 and has three handsome sons named Leonardo, Edgar, and Alexandro.
Yeni, born and raised in Cuba, she also attended a Vocational high school for sciences and registered in the Dental School of Cienfuegos, Cuba where she completed three of five years prior to immigrating to the United States in 2004 After her arrival in US, Yenii became a certified dental assistant in 2006 and work in an Ortho office until the summer on 2013 that she enter Hygiene school at the Valencia College. She graduated in 2015 and has been working as a hygienist since then. She joined our office part time in November of 2015 and now is here every day of the week. She really enjoys making teeth feel healthier.
Carlos 26 years old, was born in Colombia and raised in Upstate New York. He attended the Dental Assisting School of Rockland NY and graduated in 2013. He is certified as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant. Carlos is very passionate about teeth and loves to learn everything that he can when it comes to Dentistry.
As much as he is dedicated with Dentistry and making his patients happy, Carlos is also equally passionate about everything soccer. During his free time he enjoys playing soccer in many different leagues throughout Central Florida. You can usually find him on his spare time watching, reading or playing soccer.
Nitza was born in Puerto Rico and raised in New Jersey. She has been in the Dental Field for over 20 years. She became a Certified Dental Assistant while attending her senior year in High School and through the years has transition to the Administrative part of the Dental field.

Very professional and attentive, the whole staff is amazing, ive been coming for years and she is very sincere and goes straight to the point, which you need from a doctor

Never coming back to this office. My husband and I came here 2 times and honestly we were not pleased. Dr Maria is very unprofessional. Doesn't really seem like she wants to help her patients.

So similar to others on this review board, I found Dr. Maria on a Google search and the ratings seemed very good initially; good reviews and she spoke Spanish which is a comfort to my wife. I also decided to become a patient also...fast forward to our 3rd visit and the (3 receptionist in 6 months) tried to force us to wear masks in the waiting room. I asked why since this is our 3rd visit AND we drove an hour AND you never told us masks were required THIS time. I asked to speak with Dr. Maria and she came out and told us that no negotiation...I advised that we would go elsewhere and without batting an eye, she said "ok!" She let 2 patients go without batting an eye over stupid masks...not who I want for my health care professional.

Nope, sorry! That dr in this office is very rude and unprofessional. When my daughter went there, instead of being polite and professional she started shaming her about her tooth and saying "I hate when you people do this!" She has no idea as to why a person could take care of a tooth till now! She just needed to do her job and take care of her patient. She was Rude and Unprofessional!

Nope, sorry! That dr in this office is very rude and unprofessional. When my daughter went there, instead of being polite and professional she started shaming her about her tooth and saying "I hate when you people do this!" She has no idea as to why a person could take care of a tooth till now! She just needed to do her job and take care of her patient. She was Rude and Unprofessional!

Dr Maria and staff are always friendly and helpful. They take cae of me and my family and do a great job of it. Dr. Maria genuinely cares about the well being of her patients. I recommend Dr. Maria to anyone in need of a honest, nice and friendly Dentist.

I could hear the Dr. speaking loudly to another patient even when I was in the waiting room. She was talking about gun control, and politics and I did not feel that was appropriate or professional of her. She sounded extremely angered by it all. I left after getting my x-rays. I could not take listening to her anymore. I was shocked she would conduct herself in this manner. Not what I envision when going to the dentist.
